Inter Coach Antonio Conte: “Marcelo Brozovic Is Available, Bologna Are An Excellent Team”

Inter coach Antonio Conte discussed the Nerazzurri’s Serie A clash against Bologna tomorrow in an interview on the official Inter site.

First, he spoke about how it feels coming off such a decisive win, the 6-0 win over Brescia in the mid-week game.

“We restart after a good game that was well played, played at a high pace for the whole 90 minutes so the enthusiasm is important but it has to be daily. The team is fine, they want to do well, we also know we’re meeting a team that is physically well, it will be a good match.”

The former Juventus and Chelsea coach touched on how Bologna have changed since their first meeting before Christmas.

“They’re a team with excellent values coached by an excellent coach. He prefers to play at high intensity, I remember the first match well, with difficulty. We went from 1-0 to 2-1, we know what match to expect, the guys are prepared. We also like to play aggressively and at a high pace. Tomorrow it’s going to be a tough one.”

Conte highlighted that tomorrow’s game is being played at 15:15, a new time for a Serie A clash.

“Yes, it’s the first time we’ve played at that time, it’s certainly going to be very hot for us, but for them too. You have to see what rhythms we will be able to bring but we are two teams that love quick movements and I don’t think that the climate can change the game of the two teams completely.”

He commented on how six different players scored against Brescia on Wednesday and how that helps the squad.

“I think that’s a characteristic of this team, the fact that six different players score in one match means that we bring different men into the offensive phase. There is a statistic that shows that Inter are the team where the most players have scored, which shows that there is total involvement between the possession and non-possession phase.”

The former Italy boss discussed the need for the squad to be able to rotate effectively.

“It’s important to have plenty in the squad because it allows you to rotate and create competition within the group. It’s inevitable that the work you do on a daily basis allows players to rotate because the player who enter know perfectly what they have to do. It’s right to rotate and Inter have the opportunity to do so. The important thing is that the player who comes in knows what he has to do.”

The Lecce born coach refused to confirm or deny if Marcelo Brozovic will be fit enough to start against the Rossoblu.

“We’re happy to have Brozovic back, he had this little problem solved today. It’s inevitable that he’s lost a few days of training compared to the others, so he’s in a bit of a condition, but the important thing is that he’s recovered from a physical point of view and that he’s available. We will evaluate the best things for him so that he is ready to return to play.”

Conte spoke about two former Nerazzurri players, Rodrigo Palacio and Sinisa Mihajlovic, who are currently at Bologna.

“Palacio is having a great season, he had an incredible game in the first leg. Studying Bologna, we understand that he is a player of superior football intelligence, he plays for the team. As far as Sinisa is concerned, we’re talking about a coach who has proved his worth as well as being a great person I like very much. Tomorrow we’ll face a tough hurdle, we’ll have to be good.”

Finally, Conte spoke about how the cooling break also allows him to talk in detail to the squad further.

“Yes, although I think it’s more useful in terms of hydration because at these temperatures it’s important for players to be able to drink.”

Inter Target Aubameyang Wants £250K Per Week From Arsenal To Sign Contract Extension

Inter target Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has asked Arsenal for a £250,000 per week contract, according to a report from international media outlet ESPN earlier today.

The report details how the 31-year-old Gabonese striker’s contract expires with the Gunners at the end of next season, and so the club have been working to try and offer the player a new contract, or else find buyers so he doesn’t leave on a free transfer next summer.

Aubameyang has asked Arsenal for a two-year contract extension that would see his wages rise to £250,000 per week. Despite the fact that Inter, Manchester United, Barcelona and Juventus are all interested in Aubameyang, the report continues, Arsenal are likely to accept their captain’s demands, which would satisfy coach Mikel Arteta, who is keen for the former Borussia Dortmund striker to remain in North London.

Aubameyang has scored 22 goals and provided two assists in 36 appearances so far this season.

Italian Media Claim Inter Preparing A €5M Offer For Chelsea Striker Olivier Giroud

Inter are looking to sign an experienced striker this summer, with the top option being Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper il Giorno.

Inter are prepared to offer Chelsea around €4-5 million for Giroud, the report continues, a low price but fair considering that they will offer the 33-year-old a contract worth the same amount.

The report details further how the 33-year-old Frenchman is contracted to Chelsea until the end of June 2021, after the Blues decided to activate an option to extend his contract by a further 12 months. If they hadn’t his contract would have expired this past June and he would have been able to move to any club on a free transfer.

Inter have been interested in acquiring the player for some time now and were close to closing out a deal for him in the January transfer window, before they backed off to focus on Christian Eriksen.

Giroud has made 16 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 853 minutes. In that time, he has scored four goals, struggling to earn consistent playing time.

Italian Media Claims Inter & Juventus Keen On Signing Roma Captain Edin Dzeko

Inter and Juventus are both interested in signing Roma forward Edin Dzeko, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Turin based newspaper Tuttosport.

The report details how the rivals are hoping to sign the 34-year-old Bosnian striker, whose contract expires with the Giallorossi in 2022. Roma’s current economic situation is unstable and so the club may be forced to sell Dzeko, and considering the good relationship between the two clubs, a deal may be on the cards.

Dzeko could be signed by Inter if Barcelona decide to pay Lautaro Martinez’s €111 million release clause, the report continues. Otherwise, it seems unlikely for the Nerazzurri to invest €15 million into the 34-year-old. The former Manchester City striker has made 35 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 2896 minutes. In that time, he has scored 17 goals and provided nine assists, being one of the most important members in the squad.

Inter have prepared a €20 million offer for Chelsea wing-back Emerson Palmieri but the Blues want more, according to a report from English media outlet the Guardian earlier today.

The report details how the Nerazzurri have opened talks with the Blues in the last few days, also approaching the 25-year-old Italian Brazilian’s agents. Inter have prepared a €20 million for the 25-year-old, but Chelsea are expected to ask for more, considering that he is valued at €30 million. The Italian Brazilian has made 19 appearances so far this season.
