LONGARE – That’s five on the trot now. Five consecutive league victories for Inter Primavera – six including Wednesday’s 3-0 cup triumph over Cesena – which enable Stefano Vecchi’s boys to continue their charge up the table as they attempt to reel in surprise package Cagliari in top spot.

The only goal of the game came in the first half – a real peach by Pau De La Fuente. The Spanish midfielder somehow arched in an unstoppable effort beyond the keeper from the edge of the box in the 28th minute.

The Nerazzurri Under-19s had to sweat for the three points though, as Vicenza fought valiantly after the break and refused to lie down. The hosts were twice denied by the woodwork in the second half, but the Nerazzurri U19s managed to hold firm, even when fatigue started to creep in late on.

The win consolidates Inter’s position in second place but Cagliari remain five points clear at the top after they beat Udinese today. Next up for Vecchi’s side is a visit from Salernitana next weekend.
