The game was notable as neither team fielded an Italian player, the first time that has ever happened in Serie A history. This did not stop it being an entertaining affair, which also showed Inter are not out of the race for the Champions League.

Champions League or not Inter need strong finish starting with Udinese

Gary Medel was at the centre of everything Inter did in their disappointing loss to Genoa on Wednesday. As the final whistle blew in the Stadio Luigi Ferraris on Wednesday night, some of the squad dropped to their knees. They had played well against Genoa, but once again had failed to break down an opposing team to lose 1-0. Their momentary lapse of concentration had seen them drop points again. The initial thought was that the Nerazzurri had just given up the dream of playing in Europe’s premier competition and on first glance this looks to be the case. Although it is out of their hands, there… via ESPN FC – Internazionale News http://ift.tt/1NG16Ys http://ift.tt/1qUjLLk

Roberto Mancini was appointed Inter Milan boss in November 2014. Inter Milan coach Roberto Mancini said his side’s 1-0 defeat to Genoa was hard to stomach, as the result all but ended their hopes of qualifying for the Champions League next season. The Nerazzurri had enough chances to win the match, but a late Sebastian De Maio goal earned the hosts all three points and saw Inter slip seven points behind Roma in the hunt for third place, with just four games of the season remaining. “Unfortunately we couldn’t finish on a number of occasions and then we went to… via ESPN FC – Internazionale News http://ift.tt/1ro52Zp http://ift.tt/1bEGSSr
