Lazio Director Igli Tare On Inter Target Marash Kumbulla: “We’ve Not Made A €30M Offer”

Lazio sporting director Igli Tare has rubbished reports in the media which have claimed they have made a €30 million offer for Hellas Verona’s Marash Kumbulla.

The Italian capital city club have been heavily linked to the highly rated Italian born Albanian national team player, who has also drawn links to Inter, Juventus and Fiorentina among other clubs.

Kumbulla is widely regarded as one of the best defensive prospects currently plying their trade in Serie A and this season he has had his first team breakthrough at the Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi club.

“Lazio have never made a €30m offer for anyone, so the rumours are not true,” Tare explained in an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, earlier on today.

He went on to add: “The player could be an important figure for the future of Lazio, so it’s an opportunity for us to make more of an effort, but we won’t change our general philosophy. Danger is always around the corner. We will try to form a team that can be competitive again next season.”

The 20-year-old, who is under contract with the Gialloblu club until the end of the 2021/22 season, has made 23 appearances across all competitions to date. During his time on the park, which totals just under 1900 minutes, he has scored a single goal.

Milan Skriniar & Diego Godin To Start For Inter In Serie A Clash Against Hellas Verona

Inter manager Antonio Conte will make at least two changes for tomorrow night’s Serie A clash away to Hellas Verona according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

Due to Alessandro Bastoni and Danilo D’Ambrosio both being suspended for the match, Conte will be forced to make two changes to the defence which started the 2-1 loss versus Bologna this past weekend at San Siro.

Milan Skriniar will return having served his three match suspension and will play on the left hand side of the three man defence whilst Diego Godin will come in on the right hand side.

Conte could well make a third change and that change would be bringing Alexis Sanchez in for Lautaro Martinez but as things stand the Argentine will start the match at the Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi.

Probable Inter starting line-up (3-4-1-2): Samir Handanovic; Diego Godin, Stefan De Vrij, Milan Skriniar; Antonio Candreva, Roberto Gagliardini, Marcelo Brozovic, Ashley Young; Christian Eriksen; Romelu Lukaku, Lautaro Martinez.

Inter Duo Diego Godin & Milan Skriniar Out To Prove Themselves Against Hellas Verona

Inter defenders Diego Godin and Milan Skriniar will both be out to prove themselves in tomorrow night’s Serie A match away to Hellas Verona according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Tuttosport.

The duo are both set to return to the starting line-up and have different reasons for wanting to prove themselves at the Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi.

Godin hopes to be able to prove his worth amid ongoing speculation regarding his future with the club and hopes to be able to help Inter to achieve a clean sheet away from home, something they have not managed since February 2 against Udinese.

As for Skriniar, the Slovakian national team defender wishes to prove himself following his recent three match ban which seen him fined by the club, who also gave him a talking to regarding his actions.

Godin has provided one assist in 26 outings this term whilst Skriniar has two assists in 35 appearances to date.

Alexis Sanchez To Replace Lautaro Martinez In Inter Lineup For Serie A Clash With Hellas Verona

Inter manager Antonio Conte will make three changes for tomorrow night’s Serie A clash against Hellas Verona according to a report from Italian journalist and transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio.

The former Italian national team boss will bring Milan Skriniar and Diego Godin back into the starting line-up in place of Alessandro Bastoni and Danilo D’Ambrosio respectively, both of whom will be unavailable for selection due to suspension.

Borja Valero, Matias Vecino and Roberto Gagliardini are all vying to start next to Marcelo Brozovic but as things stand Gagliardini is set to retain his place in the starting XI.

The report goes on to add that the final change will occur in the attack where, in all probability, top goalscorer Romelu Lukaku will be joined by Alexis Sanchez, who will replace out of form Lautaro Martinez.

Inter Probable Line-up (3-4-1-2): Samir Handanovic; Diego Godin, Stefan de Vrij, Milan Skriniar; Antonio Candreva, Marcelo Brozovic, Roberto Gagliardini, Ashley Young; Christian Eriksen; Alexis Sanchez, Romelu Lukaku.

Inter CEO Beppe Marotta Wants To Sign Chelsea’s Emerson Palmieri Using Cuadrado To Juventus Formula

Chelsea’s Emerson Palmieri is the easiest player for Inter to sign to bolster their options at left wing back according to a report from Italian news outlet FCInterNews.it.

Emerson leaving his current employers over the coming months seems almost inevitable after he has slid down the pecking order this term and has been placed on the transfer list.

The player is desperate to ensure he makes it into the Italian national team for the European Championship’s in the Summer of 2021 and knows that he must play regularly in the season leading up to them to stand a chance of being in the squad.

Chelsea want €30 million for the former Santos player, who has been with them since January 2018 and is under contract until 2022.

Inter chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta is thinking of replicating the deal he signed Juan Cuadrado at Juventus by taking Emerson on a fee paying loan with an option to buy, which could become an obligation dependent on certain conditions being met.

The report goes on to add that whilst contact between Inter and Chelsea continues, Juventus also have an interest in signing Emerson and it is for this reason that Chelsea do not wish to drop their demands as they hope to get as much money as possible to help fund a move for Kai Havertz.

Lazio Could Settle For €80M For Sergej Milinkovic-Savic Amid Links To Inter, Man Utd, PSG & Real Madrid

Lazio could settle for a fee in the region of €80 million for coveted midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic according to a report in today’s Gazzetta dello Sport.

Inter and Juventus both have a long standing interest in signing the Spanish born Serbian national team player but neither club appear to have the finances available to them to meet the demands of Lazio president Claudio Lotito for the time being.

Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United, Real Madrid and Chelsea are all also understood to be interested in signing the former KRC Genk midfielder who has been plying his trade in the Italian capital city since the Summer of 2015.

The report states that Lotito could settle for €80 million but this will not stop him from trying to maximise the value they get for the 25-year-old, who has four years left to run on his current deal.

This season he has made 36 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored six goals and provided seven assists for his teammates.

Inter Coach Antonio Conte: “I Have Complete Confidence In All The Guys In My Squad”

Inter manager Antonio Conte has insisted that he has full faith in each and every member of his squad ahead of tomorrow night’s Serie A clash against Hellas Verona.

“How can we leave the disappointment of the Bologna result behind? Preparing for the game against Verona,” Conte began an interview with Inter’s official club broadcaster Inter TV earlier on today.

“It is inevitable that in these cases the next game comes in no time and that is better. For sure there must be some bitterness but you have to concentrate on the next important match against a very good team.”

The former Italian national team boss was then asked how to prepare for such a match both from a physical and mental point of view.

“As always, you must always try to know about your opponent in detail. We need to know where we should be good and where we need to pay more attention. The important thing is that the team knows what game to play.”

Next he was asked whether it is difficult to make changes with many players unavailable.

“This is a problem that all the teams are facing. By playing matches in quick succession, in these temperatures and with three points at stake, it is inevitable that there will be injuries.

“Due to fatigue, you maybe won’t risk a player for fear of losing him for many games but on the other side of the coin I have complete confidence in all the guys in my squad.

“I have the opportunity to give space to all the players because I know that it is well rewarded in terms of performance, attitude and determination.”

He was then asked about how big a factor playing at 21:45 CET will be.

“We are getting used to dealing with playing games at that time, it is not the first time and it will not be the last. We are adapting to these situations but it is obvious that playing away games at these times you return late at night and you have little time to recover and rest. We know very well that we have to face these situations and we do it in the best way.”

Next he was asked what the Gialloblu’s main threats are as a team.

“They are having a great season, they have been one of the revelations of the seasons. They have a good and well prepared coach and a squad that has very interesting and good guys. They are a team whose physicality is one of their strengths. We must respond blow for blow from all points of view.”

He was then asked about the previous meeting between the sides where Inter came from behind to win 2-1.

“I remember it very well, there was an excellent reaction. We won the match with a goal from Nicolò Barella. This goes to show that we will face a very good team but we want to achieve a positive result.”

Next he was asked whether Inter’s 32 points gained in away games is a sign of a good mentality.

“What we try to do with the boys is not think about whether we are playing at home or away, apart from this period where there is no fans. There is always the desire to play a great game and this is important for a team that wants to control things and be proactive regardless of whether you play at home or away.”

In conclusion he was asked about the fact that Inter have had the highest average possession % since the season got back underway.

“I think we all look at the statistics at the end of the game because there is an explanation behind the data anyway. For sure it is positive data and this demonstrates how we have always tried to dominate the games we have played.

“Having a high danger index among the best shows that we also played good in the games. You can have all the good stats that you want but in the end these must coincide with a positive result.”

How Romelu Lukaku’s Transfer To Inter From Man Utd Has Seemingly Benefited All Parties

On July 5th 2020, Romelu Lukaku became just the fourth Inter player to score 20 goals during his first season at the club. It is a remarkable achievement, and as the statistics from Opta confirm, he goes into the history books, following in the footsteps of Ronaldo, Stefano Nyers and Giuseppe Meazza. With eight games still left to play, he could yet add to his already impressive total.

Back in August 2019, the powerful striker swapped the Premier League for Serie A, signing a five-year contract with the Nerrazzuri. The Belgian had also been linked with a move to Juventus prior to arriving at the San Siro, and after enduring a frustrating couple of years at Old Trafford, the move signified a fresh start for the prolific frontman. He’s certainly enjoyed working under Antonio Conte this season and we take a look at how this record-breaking transfer has seemingly benefited both clubs, as well as the player himself.

How The Deal Benefited Inter

Prior to Lukaku’s arrival in northern Italy, Inter had relied heavily on irascible forward Mauro Icardi. Despite the Argentine marksman’s ability to score important goals, his time at the club had been marred by a series of controversial incidents which had infuriated large swathes of the club’s fan-base.

During the 2018-19 campaign, Icardi’s influence had dwindled, and with just eleven goals to his name, his days appeared to be numbered. The Rosario-born man had finished as the club’s top goal-scorer for five consecutive seasons and they needed to move quickly in order to replace the want-away star. He joined PSG on a one-year loan deal, and looks set to sign for the French champions on a permanent basis this summer.

Whilst Lukaku is a player who does tend to divide fans, and has already endured one or two regrettable moments since joining the club, he is far less unpredictable than his predecessor, and can be relied upon to do his job on the pitch.

His goals have helped the Serie A heavyweights keep in touch with the Bianconeri this season, and as of July 6th, they remain 40/1 outsiders for the title with Betway. Despite this, they still look highly likely to improve upon last year’s underwhelming fourth place finish.

How The Deal Benefited Manchester United

Despite plundering 28 goals in 66 appearances for the Red Devils, the former Anderlecht man rarely looked comfortable playing at Old Trafford. Although he has been quick to praise former boss Jose Mourinho, the Portuguese tactician struggled to get the best out of the muscular frontman, whilst his successor Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has opted for a style which didn’t play to Lukaku’s strengths.

This season, the Norwegian has used Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford, and Mason Greenwood to devastating effect, with the energetic trio willing to track back and run the channels. The Belgian struggled with the out-of-possession aspects of the game, and as a result, often found himself drifting away from key areas. In order to succeed, he requires adequate service on a regular basis, and tends to prefer to link up with a playmaker. This simply didn’t fit in with coaching staff’s plans.

Since Lukaku’s departure, other strikers at the club have been able to enjoy an increased number of minutes on the field, and this will surely benefit the club’s long-term future. Having gone 16 games unbeaten, the club is certainly on an upward trajectory and although it may sound counter-intuitive, the sale of the former Chelsea man has almost certainly contributed.

How The Deal Benefited The Player

Lukaku has spoken of how he has matured as a player since arriving at the San Siro, and although he recognises that some areas of his game still need to improve, he does credit Antonio Conte with helping his development. He is clearly happy playing in the current system, and although he hasn’t escaped criticism from the current gaffer, he admits that the former Italy coach knows how to get the best out of his players.

Although Serie A players are still subject to scrutiny from fans and pundits alike, his move to Italy has enabled him to step ever-so-slightly out of the spotlight. At Manchester United, his every touch was critiqued by the media, and despite one or two of his performances for the Nerrazzuri attracting condemnation, the move will surely have relieved some of the pressure that comes with pulling on the number nine shirt at Old Trafford.

Lukaku is clearly flourishing in his new role at Inter, and although he was far from an inexpensive purchase, all parties now appear to be reaping the rewards. He is likely to go from strength-to-strength working under Conte, and the pair will surely enjoy plenty more success over the next couple of seasons.
