Ex-Inter Midfielder Paul ince: “When I Went To Inter I Became A Far Better Player Under Roy Hodgson”

Former Inter midfielder Paul Ince has heralded former Inter manager Roy Hodgson for helping to him improve as a player.

The former England national team player’s comments on Hodgson have come just a few weeks on from former Inter defender Roberto Carlos blasting the former Fulham manager and claiming he destroyed him.

“When I went to Inter, I became a far better player under Roy Hodgson. He truly took my game to the next level, I felt fitter, stronger, my awareness went up tenfold. That, plus the change in culture and experience that I had,” he explained in an interview with bookmakers Paddy Power.

Ince joined Inter in the Summer of 1995 from Premier League side Manchester United and spent two seasons with the Nerazzurri, one of which came under the stewardship of Hodgson, who is currently in charge of Crystal Palace.

Ince left Inter after two seasons despite being offered a contract extension by then president and owner Massimo Moratti and returned to England for family reasons.

He made a total of 73 appearances across all competitions during his time with Inter in which he scored 13 goals and provided a single assist for his teammates.

Inter Legend Luis Suarez: “Suning Only Bought Inter To Make Money, They Don’t Have Culture & Don’t Know Football”

Legendary Inter midfielder Luis Suarez has once again displayed his dislike for Inter’s current owners Suning following several other attacks in the past.

Chinese e-commerce giants Suning purchased a majority stake in Inter back in the Summer of 2016 from Indonesian tycoon Erick Thohir.

In the years since Suning have hoovered up the remaining shares that Thohir held and have revolutionised Inter and really improved the club’s financial situation.

Suning have shown that they are not afraid to splash the cash either with them having spent a few hundred million on player transfers since they took charge including the club record €65 million transfer of Romelu Lukaku this past Summer.

“I never imagined that Inter would be in the hands of Chinese owners. They only came to make money, they do not know anything, they do not have culture,” he explained in an interview with Il Giornale, which appeared in today’s print edition.

“They do not know football, they can erase what they want but the history of Inter cannot be erased by anyone, even by those who are trying to get the club back to winning everything.”

Suarez, who won the 1960 Balon d’Or, played for Inter between 1961 and 1970 and was an integral part in Helenio Herrera’s Grande Inter side that conquered all before them during that time.

Suarez, who joined Inter in a then world record transfer, made a total of 329 appearances for the club, in which he scored 55 goals.

Former Inter Goalkeeper Toldo: “The Treble Winning Season Is Unforgettable”

In an interview with Italian broadcaster Sport Mediaset earlier on today, former Inter goalkeeper Francesco Toldo has spoken on a range of topics.

The former Italian national team shot-stopper began the interview by discussing whether he misses playing and if he may return to the football world in the future.

“I don’t miss it, that phase has passed for me. I was also a coach, but I don’t feel like returning to the same life as before. For the future, the only door I leave open is to train children,” he explained.

Toldo proceeded to discuss what it was like to be able to play alongside and against the legendary Il Fenomeno Ronaldo, who is widely regarded as one of the greatest players of all time.

“He is one of the strongest players I’ve ever seen. He had unique characteristics. He was very fast, he let himself get the ball and he went past the defenders as if they were skittles. He always stole time in front of the goalkeeper, speed was one of his prerogatives.”

Next he shared what the best memory of Inter’s treble winning team in the 2009/10 season he has.

“The final party after winning the Champions League. Inter had been looking to win it again for many years and it arrived together with many other trophies that year. It was an unforgettable season.”

In conclusion, he was asked about the possible departure of Lautaro Martinez, who continues to be linked with a Summer transfer window switch to Barcelona.

“I think Inter keep the best, they always have. The club is very solid, I believe they will strengthen the team. If a transfer arrives, they will know what to do with it.”

Toldo spent nine years on Inter’s books between 2001 and 2010. He made a total of 233 appearances across all competitions for the club, in which he kept a total of 95 clean sheets.

Diego Godin To Try & Change Conte’s Mind About Him As Inter Future Hanging By A Thread

Diego Godin will attempt to change Inter manager Antonio Conte’s mind about him if the 2019/20 Serie A season is to resume according to a report from Italian news outlet TuttoMercatoWeb.

The experienced Uruguayan national team defender has struggled in his first season with the club following his arrival on a free transfer this past Summer after the expiration of his contract with Atletico Madrid.

Several reports in recent weeks and months have suggested that Godin could depart Inter just one year into a three year deal and many other reports state that Inter are looking for defensive reinforcements in the upcoming Summer transfer window which certainly does not bode well for Godin, who lost his place in the side to Alessandro Bastoni before football was brought to a halt.

Inter’s top two targets for the heart of the defence as per reports in the media are Hellas Verona youngster Marash Kumbulla and Tottenham Hotspur and Belgium national team player Jan Vertonghen.

Gaby Mudingayi: “I Was Unlucky At Inter, Things Would’ve Went Differently If It Weren’t For Injury”

Former Inter midfielder Gaby Mudingayi has insisted he was unlucky with how things panned out for him at the club and is convinced things would have been different had he not gotten injured.

The former Belgian national team midfielder initially joined Inter on loan in 2012 and was then bought outright at the end of that season but he was bought out of his contract after just one season.

During his time with the club he managed to make just 17 appearances across all competitions due to a series of injury problems, including a serious Achilles tendon injury.

“I was unlucky. They really wanted me there, I arrived and signed a three year contract. I got an Achilles tendon injury and was out on the sidelines and big clubs are not waiting for you,” he explained in an interview with Italian news outlet 1000cuorirossoblu.it.

“I tried to recover immediately, but everything was now compromised. The experience at Inter helped me to understand that a job done well always pays off. I was committed and the team believed in me.”

He was then asked if he had any regrets over how things went for him at the Nerazzurri.

“Would things have went differently if it were not for injury? In my opinion, yes. We finished second in my first year with the club and we were also the first team to win at Juventus’ new stadium but then things changed, many players got injured and there were many other problems that were decisive.”

He concluded the interview by speaking on some of the players he got to share a dressing room with during his time at Inter and whether he is happy with the career he had.

“At Inter I practically played with the whole treble winning Inter time. I am happy with the career I have had and with whom I have crossed paths.”
