Emerson Palmieri Open To A Move To Inter Who Are Yet To Present Chelsea With An Offer

Chelsea’s Italian international wing-back Emerson Palmieri is open to transferring to Inter but the Nerazzurri are yet to make an official bid for him, according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia’s transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio who reported this on air moments ago.

According to the report, the Nerazzurri have begun talks with the Premier League outfit regarding the former Roma wing-back, but are yet to present an official offer for the player.

Inter made an enquiry for Emerson Palmier as well as his team mate at Chelsea Marcos Alonso in January, the report continues, but Frank Lampard’s side rejected the approach for both players.

Since then both players are on their way out from Stamford Bridge, prompting the Nerazzurri to try once again for the Brazilian born naturalized Italian international wing-back.

Then Chelsea coach Antonio Conte signed Emerson Palmieri from Roma in January 2018 in a deal worth reportedly around €29 million, and he has since then featured 53 times across all competitions scoring just the one goal in the process.

Inter Legend Beppe Bergomi: “Romelu Lukaku Should’ve Taken Penalty Against Bologna, Christian Eriksen Struggling”

Legendary former Inter captain Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Bergomi has shared his thoughts and feelings on Inter’s performance in yesterday’s 2-1 loss to Bologna at San Siro.

“I liked Inter, they played well the first half but you have to see the game out,” Bergomi explained whilst present in the studios of Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, earlier on today.

Next Bergomi discussed Romelu Lukaku’s decision to hand out of form Lautaro Martinez the penalty in a bid to get him back on the score sheet and his confidence up.

“The penalty taker is Lukaku and he once left a penalty to Esposito with a good result. The gesture is beautiful, he wanted to help Lautaro. I don’t think the rumours influence him, but Lukaku has to take that penalty. I didn’t mind how Lautaro played, he had chances and played for the team.”

Bergomi then went on to analyse the performance of attacking midfielder Christian Eriksen, someone who he has been very critical of since his arrival from Tottenham Hotspur back in the most recent January transfer window.

“He played discreetly in the first half. The opposing teams are very attentive to him, they don’t give him space. You always expect more from him, but he’s not doing well.”

World Cup winner Bergomi spent the entirety of his playing career with Inter. Between 1979 and 1999 he made no less than 754 appearances across all competitions to date, an appearance total bettered only by fellow club legend Javier Zanetti. Bergomi scored 29 goals for Inter and also won two Serie A titles among other honours whilst with the club.

Italian Media Argue Inter Haven’t Changed Under Antonio Conte & Are Still Immature Not ‘Pazza’

Inter are a team that lacks maturity, at least according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Libero following their 2-1 loss to Bologna.

In the years since the historic treble win in 2009/10, Inter have never managed to come close to repeating that success and year on year have struggled to overcome a mental hurdle which often leads to the team crumbling.

Rather than being ‘pazza’, which is crazy in English, Libero believe that Inter are an immature team. Using the loss to Bologna as an example, Libero believe that Inter lack cynicism to their game. The report continues that so far Antonio Conte has failed to cure the Nerazzurri of this ailment that has been plaguing the club since the treble winning season.

Inter had multiple opportunities to kill the game off but did not do so and this cost them as Bologna would score two goals in quick succession near the end of the match.

History has repeated itself and Libero point out that when Inter begin to lose traction in the race for the Serie A title, it no longer makes sense for them to play on.

Italian Journalist Luca Calamai Very Critical Of Inter Coach Antonio Conte After Bologna Defeat

Italian football journalist Luca Calamai has chosen to blame Inter manager Antonio Conte for the Nerazzurri club’s defeat to Bologna yesterday evening.

Inter took the lead thanks to Romelu Lukaku, who netted his 26th goal across all competitions to date, but could not score anymore and were made to pay for their missed chances, including a missed penalty.

Musa Juwara equalised for the visitors with 15 minutes of the game to spare and rather than react, Inter collapsed and this allowed Musa Barrow to strike a winner for the Rossoblu minutes later.

As a result of this defeat, Inter’s chances of winning the Serie A title hang by a thread with them now 11 points adrift of league leaders Juventus with 24 points still to play for this season.

Calami took to social media platform Twitter to share his criticism of former Italian national team boss Conte and the way his actions contributed to Inter’s defeat.

He posted: “And now Marotta could ask Conte if the highest paid coach in Italy thinks he has done something wrong this year. And if you have an idea on how to intervene, ask the club for more money to spend on the market.”

E ora Marotta potrebbe chiedere a Conte se l’allenatore più pagato d’Italia pensa di aver sbagliato qualcosa quest’anno. E se ha un’idea su come intervenire a Parte chiedere alla società altri soldi da spendere sul mercato

Italian Journalist Mario Sconcerti: “Inter Lack Quality & Are Psychologically Not Ready To Win”

Italian football journalist Mario Sconcerti has dedicated part of his weekly column in Italian daily newspaper Corriere della Sera to analysing Inter’s 2-1 defeat to Bologna last night.

Inter took the lead through Romelu Lukaku midway through the first half and despite having many chances to extend their lead and kill the game off, they failed to do so. Bologna scored twice in quick succession near the end of the match and the result as good as ends Inter’s already minute chances of winning the Serie A title.

“Inter lack quality and are psychologically not ready to win. They have better than average player but none are great. The quality of Inter still depends on Conte and in fact it is not enough,” Sconcerti began his column which appeared in today’s print edition of the Milan based news outlet.

Inter are sitting in third place after 30 games played this season with 64 points to their name but could have had more had it not been for their inconsistency since the season resumed following the Coronavirus crisis enforced stop.

Inter are four points behind second place Lazio, 11 behind league leaders Juventus and only a point ahead of fourth placed Atalanta.

Man City Slap €70M Price Tag On Inter & Juventus Linked Gabriel Jesus

Manchester City have laid out their demands for striker Gabriel Jesus according to a report from British news outlet Manchester Evening Standard, as cited by Italian news outlet CalcioMercato.com.

Inter and Juventus have both shown an interest in adding the highly rated Brazilian national team forward ahead of the upcoming transfer window and signing him will cost interested clubs no less than €70 million.

Inter believe that Gabriel Jesus is the perfect heir to Lautaro Martinez, who continues to be linked with a potential move to Spanish giants Barcelona.

Juventus on the other hand think Jesus would be the ideal successor to the ageing Gonzalo Higauin, who has been linked with a potential return to his native Argentina.

Gabriel Jesus came through the ranks at Campeonato Brasileiro Série A side Palmeiras and moved to his current employers – who he is contracted to until 2023 – back in January 2017.

This season the 23-year-old has made 45 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored 18 goals and provided 11 assists for his teammates.

Italian Media Report Inter Have Made An Offer Worth €25M To Chelsea For Emerson Palmieri

Inter have made an offer to Chelsea for defender Emerson Palmieri according to a report from Italian news outlet TuttoMercatoWeb.

As per the report, Inter have made an offer of €20 million plus €5 million in add-ons to the Premier League side for the Italian national team full back.

Emerson Palmieri is on the transfer list at Stamford Bridge and although the blues hoped to get €30 million for the 25-year-old, the report goes on to add that there is a positive feeling that an agreement can be reached.

Inter have also made a contract offer to Emerson, which would see him earn more than the €3 million he currently earns with Chelsea, who he has played for since January 2018.

Thanks to the Italian tax laws, Inter have offered a five year contract with a €4 million salary, which is better than the offer Napoli have put forward.

Juventus have also shown an interest in signing Emerson but any move for him is dependent on the sale of Alex Sandro.

Barcelona Wont Give Up On Inter’s Lautaro Martinez Even After €111M Release Clause Expires

Lautaro Martinez will remain a target for Barcelona even after his release clause expires according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, which was aired a short time ago.

The highly rated 22-year-old Inter striker’s release clause of €111 million is due to expire tomorrow and from then on Inter will be able to demand what they want for the Argentine national team player.

Negotiations between Inter and Barcelona over Lautaro could last until October 5, which is the final day of the transfer market, unless an agreement between the clubs is found earlier than that.

Barcelona have been courting Lautaro for a considerable amount of time now whilst Inter have remained firm with their stance from day one.

Inter have demanded that his release clause is paid otherwise they will not let the player leave and club management have insisted in the media that the player has not asked to leave the club either.

Barcelona Forced To Give Up In Pursuit Of Inter’s Lautaro Martinez For Time Being

Barcelona have given up in their pursuit of signing Inter striker Lautaro Martinez according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sport Mediaset, which was aired a short time ago.

Lautaro’s €111 million release clause is due to expire after tomorrow and the Blaugrana club do not have the financial power to trigger his clause at the moment.

Whilst Barcelona have given up for now, the report stresses that it cannot be excluded that Barcelona make other moves to sign him later down the line but it will certainly be far harder to deal with Inter once the release clause has expired as Inter can then demand whatever they like for the 22-year-old Argentine.

Barcelona remain quite confident that they can eventually get a deal done for the former Racing Club player and know that Inter will need to soften their currently rock solid stance on the matter but Inter have a different view.

Inter are not interested in acquiring Junior Firpo as part of a deal, contrary to what reports elsewhere say in the media due to the fact they are trying to sign Emerson Palmieri from Chelsea.

The report adds that Lautaro has never asked to leave Inter nor openly expressed a desire to leave to join the Blaugrana club. Inter consider him as being central to the club’s ongoing project and have no doubts about his professionalism amid ongoing links.

Inter CEO Beppe Marotta: “Antonio Conte Is Very Angry, We Don’t Want To Sell Lautaro Martinez”

Inter chief executive officer Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta has admitted there is a feel of real bitterness following the disappointing 2-1 loss to Bologna at San Siro yesterday evening.

Inter took the lead through Romelu Lukaku and dominated the match for the most part but were made to pay for their inability to take their chances as Bologna scored twice late on to secure all three points at Inter’s expense.

“There remains great bitterness and disappointment for not having obtained the three points in light of an excellent performance in parts of the match,” he explained in an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia a short time ago.

“Unfortunately what happened happened so as a result we are disappointed. We all spoke together with Conte to take a look at things and express our bitterness and disappointment at the match that was within our reach.”

He was then asked how Inter manager Antonio Conte took the result and whether or not he is already thinking about Inter’s next match which comes against Hellas Verona on Thursday.

“Conte has already started thinking about Thursday. He is very angry, but his criticism helps to understand a character and a man who wants to get much more from himself and from the team.

“The match against Hellas Verona is an interlocutory stage of a journey, but it comes at a time when we have to show that we understand the value of what we through away yesterday.

“In this extraordinary moment, the league and Europa League, that we will play in in August, and the transfer maket, unfortunately simultaneously co-exist.”

Marotta was then once again asked about Lautaro Martinez’s future with the club and reiterated that Inter want to keep a hold of the Argentine, who has been heavily linked with a move to Barcelona.

“Inter do not want to sell their most important players, we are talking about a 22-year-old boy who is in a period of his career where there are constant rumours that maybe affect him.

“We admired an excellent Lautaro in the first half of the season. Now he must regain the serenity that will allow him to have personal satisfaction and make his contribution to Inter like he did in the first part.”

Next he was asked whether he expected more from January transfer window recruit Christian Eriksen, who has only shown flashes of brilliance since his arrival.

“He arrived in January and has certainly had difficulty in an area of the team that is unfortunately suffering due to the unavailability of other players [due to injury].

“He is a great player and he is certainly someone who can give much more. We will wait for him and will do so calmly. There are eight games left of the season and we will have to give our best.”

In conclusion Marotta was asked if Inter have what it takes to go all the way and win the Europa League.

“We will definitely try yes, we don’t know what the form of the other teams will be like but we have to believe we can do it. We participate to win.”
