Italian Media Claim Torino Defender Armando Izzo Out To Convince Inter To Sign Him

Torino’s Italian central defender Armando Izzo is out to convince Inter to sign him according to a report from Italian news outlet CalcioMercato.com.

The Torino central defender has drawn links to Inter ahead of the upcoming transfer window with it said that Inter manager Antonio Conte is a big fan of him and he supposedly thinks he would be an ideal addition due to his experience in a three man backline.

The report goes on to explain that Izzo is hoping to finish the remainder of the season in the best possible fashion in order to convince Inter to make a move to sign him in the coming months.

The Italian national team defender has been with his current employers since the Summer of 2018 and he is under contract with them through to the end of the 2023/24 season.

This term Izzo has made 30 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has contributed three goals.

Victor Moses & Borja Valero Could Start For Inter Tomorrow Night Against Sassuolo

Victor Moses and Borja Valero could both be granted rare starts tomorrow night for Inter against Sassuolo, at least according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, which was aired a short time ago.

Inter manager Antonio Conte could opt to give starting right wing back Antonio Candreva a rest and deploy Moses in his place for what would be just his second league start since his arrival on loan from Premier League Chelsea back in the most recent January transfer window.

With Marcelo Brozovic due to miss out again because of injury, rather than stick with Roberto Gagliardini, who started this past weekend’s 2-1 win over Sampdoria, Conte could call upon veteran Spanish midfielder Borja Valero instead.

Other than these two potential changes, the starting line-up should be the same as the one which started the match against Sampdoria.

Probable Inter starting line-up (3-4-1-2): Samir Handanovic; Milan Skriniar, Stefan De Vrij, Alessandro Bastoni; Victor Moses, Nicolo Barella, Borja Valero, Ashley Young; Christian Eriksen; Romelu Lukaku, Lautaro Martinez.

Inter Midfielder Marcelo Brozovic Aiming To Be Fit For Sunday’s Serie A Clash Against Parma

Marcelo Brozovic is working hard to recover from injury and hopes to be recovered in time for Inter’s match against Parma this weekend according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, which was aired a short time ago.

The Croatian midfield maestro picked up a lower leg injury in training on Saturday and was forced to miss Sunday’s 2-1 win over Sampdoria and he will also miss tomorrow night’s encounter at home to Sassuolo.

The former Dinamo Zagreb player has been key for Inter this term and when he has previously missed out Inter have struggled but the improved form of January transfer window recruit Christian Eriksen negated his absence against Sampdoria.

This season Brozovic, who has drawn links with a potential move to Liverpool in the media, has made 33 appearances across all competitions to date.

During his time on the park, which totals just over 2800 minutes, he has scored three goals and provided five assists for his teammates.

Chelsea Duo Emerson Palmieri & Marcos Alonso On Inter’s List Of Wingback Reinforcements

Inter have identified several possible additions that they could make to their full back department in the upcoming transfer window according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper La Repubblica.

Inter intend to keep a hold of Ashley Young for the left hand side and Antonio Candreva for the right but given the multitude of games Inter face they want to have two players capable of starting on each side.

When it comes to the left hand side alternatives to Young include Cristiano Biraghi, who is only on loan from Fiorentina and has not exactly performed up to par all the time.

On the right there is Danilo D’Ambrosio, who is frequently stopped by injury and Victor Moses, who is on loan from Chelsea.

The report goes on to explain that Inter manager Antonio Conte would like Chelsea duo Emerson Palmieri and Marcos Alonso added but Inter’s shortlist of potential additions is not limited to them.

Conte also likes Parma’s Matteo Darmian, who would be far cheaper than both of them and another possibility of Atalanta’s Robin Gosens but Inter will have to pay in excess of €25 million to land him.

Ex-Nerazzurri Goalkeeper Castellazzi: “Inter Need To Capitalize On Chances Created”

Former Inter goalkeeper Luca Castellazzi has admitted that whilst he liked what he seen from Inter against Sampdoria, he wants to see the Nerazzurri become more clinical and kill games off.

Inter race to a 1-0 lead as they scored within 10 minutes of the game starting on Sunday and doubled their lead just after the half hour mark. Inter had chances in between the goals and no shortage of chances afterwards to score more goals but failed to do so.

Sampdoria pulled one back and put the pressure on but had Inter taken their chances they would not have been forced to have felt the pressure that they did from conceding.

“I liked Inter, but there was that drop-off, as what happened in Naples, which could compromise a game which was well conducted in broad stretches,” Castellazzi explained in an interview with Italian broadcaster Sport Italia earlier on today.

“As soon as you have chances you have to capitalise on them, you never know when and how much you will drop off.”

Castellazzi joined Inter in the Summer of 2010 and had a four year spell with the club as the back-up goalkeeper. He made 36 appearances for the club, in which he kept nine clean sheets.

Inter, Napoli & Roma Keen On €15M Rated Sporting CP Wingback Marcos Acuña

As a result of the global Coronavirus pandemic Sporting CP’s demands for Marcos Acuna have dropped according to a report from the online edition of Portuguese news outlet A Bola.

Prior to the pandemic, the Portuguese giants were demanding a sum of €20 million for the Argentine national team full back but now want €15 million for him.

Inter, Napoli and Roma are all interested in signing the former Racing Club player and the report explains that by selling Acuna, who is one of their most valuable assets, they will be able to ease their current financial woes.

Should Inter make a move for him it would not be the first time as they made an unsuccessful attempt to bring him to the club in January, the report recalls.

Inter had made a loan with option to buy deal worth €11 million in total but it failed to convince the Sporting CP leaders.

Inter CEO Marotta Remembers Mario Corso: “A Football Legend Who Generated Great Emotions”

Inter chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta has paid tribute to Inter legend Mario Corso having attended his funeral earlier on today.

Corso passed away at the age of 78 this past weekend and his funeral took place this morning at the basilica Sant’Ambrogio in Milan with several people connected to Inter both currently and in the past in attendance to remember him.

“He was a genius and unruly, the fact that he accompanied his way of playing with his own personal art distinguishes a character who is part of football poetry and as such he should be remembered,” Marotta explained in an interview with Italian news agency ANSA.

“He is a football legend and one of those characters who have generated great emotions for all Inter fans. The pain of losing him is proof that a player can be an example for young people and for all fans.

“It is also an opportunity to remember AC Milan’s former number 11, Pierino Prati, who together with him, created great emotions.”

Corso spent a total of 16 years with Inter between 1957 and 1973 and made over 500 appearances across all competitions for the club.

The former winger, who earned the nickname ‘God’s left foot’ during his playing days, is widely regarded as one of Inter’s greatest ever players and he won no shortage of silverware during his time with the club.

Upon his retirement as a player, Corso also had a spell as manager of Inter’s Primavera team and he followed this up with a spell in charge of the first team.
