Stefano Sensi Could Miss Inter’s Next 8 Serie A Matches Due To 5th Injury Of The Season

Inter midfielder Stefano Sensi will be permanently signed by the Nerazzurri in the summer, despite his injury issues, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

The report details how the 24-year-old Italian was sent on loan from Sassuolo to the Nerazzurri last summer, with the player making an immediate impact in Milan. Sensi scored three goals and provided four assists in his first six games for Inter, but suffered a tear in the abductor muscle 34 minutes into his Derby d’Italia debut.

Since then, his season has been rocked by injury and he will again miss the next seven to eight games due to a hamstring injury, his fifth injury of the season.

Despite his physical condition, Inter will still sign him in the summer, the report continues. The Nerazzurri will pay €27 million, with €3 million more to be added for the loan and the various add-ons. A discount could also come to light, thanks to the good relationship between the two clubs.

Ex-Inter President Massimo Moratti: “Inter Could Be Involved In The Serie A Title Race”

Former Inter president Massimo Moratti discussed the title race and whether the Nerazzurri have a possibility of providing a real challenge in an interview with Italian radio broadcaster Radio Rai 1 during the show ‘Sabato Sport’.

“This season is so strange that it can certainly give any kind of result, it may not be a two-team fight. If I put Juve and Lazio on the same level, Inter would be a big surprise but you could expect it, you have to have faith. The Napoli match was the first and it wasn’t easy, but Conte gives confidence so that the team can do well.”

Inter are currently 3rd in the league table after playing 26 games, sitting nine points behind rivals and league leaders Juventus. The Nerazzurri have played one less game than their title race rivals, and so a win against Sampdoria tomorrow evening is crucial if the Milanese club are to stay involved in the Scudetto fight.

Inter coach Antonio Conte was hoping to win the Coppa Italia this season after disappointing in the Champions League and failing to remain close to Juventus in the title race, but now his full focus on the remaining 12 Serie A games. The club started the season strongly under the Lecce born coach but struggled to keep the performances consistent once injuries began to pile on.

Fiorentina midfielder Alfred Duncan, who joined the Florence based club on loan from Sassuolo in January, discussed his experiences with Inter in an interview in today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

“I don’t think it was a wasted opportunity. Inter was unexpected but beautiful, a very important club, at the top in Italy and Europe. I trained with formidable players, an experience that allowed me to grow a lot.”

The Ghanaian recently found success with Sassuolo and was sold to Fiorentina in the January transfer window earlier this year on a loan deal with a buy obligation attached. Xian Emmers: “Inter Want To Send Me Out On Loan Again Next Season”

Inter owned midfielder Xian Emmers discussed his disappointing season on loan with Belgian side Waasland-Beveren and his future in an interview with Belgian media outlet Het Belang van Limburg earlier today.

“I started the season with the best expectations, but I played very little. The results were not good and we had to fight, even the coach was replaced. Inter have already made me understand that they would like to loan me out for another season.”

Emmers then discussed how next season will be important for him and the transfer market.

“It will be an important year for me, but for the moment I can’t say much about the various interests. The market is quite calm now because the leagues in many countries are still going on. I don’t care where I’m going to play, I just want to have regular minutes.”

The 20-year-old Belgian defender, who is the son of former professional Marc Emmers, joined Inter in 2015 on a free transfer from the Genk youth system. He developed in Inter’s youth set up and spent time out on loan with fellow Italian side Cremonese. He appeared semi-regularly for them, making 20 appearances across all competitions and providing two goal contributions.

This season Emmers has made nine appearances across all competitions for Waasland-Beveren, for a total of 470 minutes. In that time, he has scored one goal and provided one assist, not making an appearance for the club since November. He failed to play a full 90 minutes for the Belgian side.
