Official – Remainder Of The Italian Youth Team Season Cancelled

The Lega Council have today decided to cancel the remainder of the 2019/20 Campionato Primavera 1 season, Inter have confirmed via an official statement on the club website.

The season has been brought to an end by league organisers with the majority of sides, including Inter, having played 21 games and it remains to be seen whether the title will be awarded and whether the sides in the relegation spots will be relegated.

Armando Madonna’s side won 11 of their 21 matches and amassed a total of 39 points over the course of the season and if the current table stands, they will have finished third, 10 points adrift of leaders Atalanta and six off of second placed Cagliari.

The Campionato Primavera 1, like senior leagues in the country and across the continent, was brought to a halt back in March due to the global Coronavirus crisis and it remains to be seen when the next season will commence.

Inter Coach Conte Identifies Several Areas For Improvement Following Napoli Match

Inter manager Antonio Conte has analysed this past weekend’s Coppa Italia semi final second leg draw against Napoli and he has identified some areas that need improvement according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Tuttosport.

The first area needing improvement is Inter’s second half performances, which often see all the good they have done in the first half thrown away.

Upon reviewing the match, Conte feels like the team could have at least doubled their lead prior to Napoli equalising just before half time and believes that the team lack a killer instinct about them.

Another area Conte feels that is in need of improvement is the team’s lack of depth and the final area he wants to see improved is the winning culture of the team, which could be strengthened by the arrivals of players such as Arturo Vidal, Edinson Cavani and Edin Dzeko.

Inter Coach Conte Will Have Close To Full Squad Available For Serie A Clash With Sampdoria

Inter manager Antonio Conte will have almost his entire squad at his disposal for this weekend’s Serie A match at home to Sampdoria according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sport Mediaset, which was aired a short time ago.

With the exception of midfielder Matias Vecino, who is almost certain to miss out due to injury, all players are in full training, including Danilo D’Ambrosio and Diego Godin, who both missed this past weekend’s Coppa Italia semi finals second leg draw with Napoli.

The report goes on to explain that Inter will in all likelihood line up in the exact same way that they did at the Stadio San Paolo.

It also goes on to state that out of form striker Lautaro Martinez will get another chance to impress and avoid being overtaken in the pecking order by Alexis Sanchez, who is back fully fit having spent most of his time on loan at Inter out of shape.

Antonio Conte To Rotate Squad Heavily To Avoid Injuries Due To Congested Fixture List

Inter manager Antonio Conte intends to widely rotate the team in order to keep everyone fit during the remainder of the season where Inter face several games in close proximity to one another according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

With Stefan de Vrij, Diego Godin and Danilo D’Ambrosio now fully recovered, Conte will have a wide range of choices when it comes to making changes to the defence.

Skriniar, de Vrij and Bastoni are the starters but it is inevitable that others will need to be called upon to step-in between now and the end of the season.

Stefano Sensi could become a key rotational player for Christian Eriksen and Victor Moses could also come in for either of Ashley Young or Antonio Candreva at full back.

Finally, in the attack, Conte has a fully fit Alexis Sanchez who he can call upon and the report concludes that the former Barcelona man will be very useful to the former Italian national team player.

Andrea Ranocchia Could Start For Inter In Serie A Clash Against Sampdoria This Weekend

Andrea Ranocchia is in with a shout of getting a rare start in this coming weekend’s match at home to Sampdoria according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The veteran central defender has found playing time extremely limited this season but could start this weekend at San Siro against La Samp due to Stefan de Vrij’s uncertain physical condition.

Despite his lack of playing time, Ranocchia is a key figure in the dressing room and is a highly respected member of the team.

The Italian is in fact the only player currently on Inter’s books to have won any silverware with the club and the report adds that what he says in the dressing room carries a lot of weight.

This season the 32-year-old, who has a contract with the club until the end of next season, has made seven appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored a single goal.

Inter Could Lose As Much As €18M Due To Matches Being Played Behind Closed Doors

Inter will lose somewhere between €10-18 million due to the fact San Siro is closed to the public at the moment according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

Due to the Coronavirus crisis, games are having to take place behind closed doors and clubs are therefore missing out on all sorts of revenue that they would typically earn from matches.

Inter will lose somewhere between the above amount and could potentially be one of the club’s who make the greatest loss in the league. The report explains that Inter’s arch rivals Juventus could lose as much as €25 million due to games needing to be played behind closed doors.

The report from the Milan based news outlet goes on to explain that the lack of fans could also impact television rights revenue and several clubs, including Juventus, are already drafting plans to present to the government regarding the attendance of supporters, who would be spaced out across the stadium.
