Del Piero: “Antonio Conte Will Always Remain A Juventino At Heart But He’ll Give 110% To Win With Inter”

Former Juventus striker Alessandro Del Piero discussed Antonio Conte and Inter’s Coppa Italia semi-final clash against Napoli tonight in an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sports Italia yesterday, after Juventus’ 0-0 draw against AC Milan in the other semi-final.

“I spoke to Conte a few weeks ago, we chatted about various topics, about the league for example, he is waiting for the restart. A maniacal person like him needs the pitch to express himself, he’ll certainly start at the best in physical and mental terms. Whoever faces this period better will have an advantage, it’s a new beginning.”

Del Piero then moved onto discussing how strange it is to see Conte in charge of Inter, considering that the Lecce born Italian both played for and coached the Bianconeri, the Nerazzurri’s biggest domestic rivals.

“It’s very strange to see him at Inter, who have been our direct opponents for years alongside AC Milan. Speaking professionally I know he’ll always remain a Juventino at heart but I’m sure he’ll give 110% to beat Juventus in the league. Regardless of the colours, it’s all about professionalism.”

Inter will face Napoli tonight in the second leg of the Coppa Italia semi-finals, with the winner facing Juventus next Wednesday in the final, ahead of the Serie A restart next weekend. The Nerazzurri are currently 1-0 down, after losing at home in the first leg.

Antonio Conte’s squad are at almost full strength, missing only Diego Godin, Matias Vecino and Danilo D’Ambrosio. The Lecce born coach is hoping to focus on the competition and win the cup, considering the elimination from the Champions League and their outside role in the title race.

Argentina Coach Scaloni: “It Would Be Very Good For Us If Messi & Inter’s Lautaro Played Together”

Argentina coach Lionel Scaloni spoke about Inter striker Lautaro Martinez and how it would be a positive thing for him to join Barcelona in an interview with Argentine broadcaster TNT Sports earlier today.

“The more Argentine players that play together in the same club the better for us because they know each other better and we really benefit from that, also because we don’t have enough time to work with them on the national team.”

Scaloni then highlighted how it would be good for the 22-year-old Lautaro to join Barcelona in the summer, as it would allow him to play alongside friend and compatriot Lionel Messi.

“It would be very good if Messi and Lautaro played on the same team. In any case, it won’t be an easy operation, because Inter and Barcelona are great teams and they are equal in the hierarchy in Europe. But if they play together for us it’s much better because they would accumulate more minutes together.”

Barcelona are incredibly keen to sign Lautaro and have been following the player for many years now, believing him to be the perfect replacement for the aging Luis Suarez. Inter will only sell the player for his release clause of €111 million in cash, a figure that the Blaugrana seemingly cannot meet.

Instead, they have been attempting to find players that Inter would take in exchange, like Junior Firpo, but the Milanese club are insistent that the clause must be paid in total. His release clause expires on July 7th and the Nerazzurri could offer a new contract after that date.

AC Milan Legend Costacurta: “Barcelona Target Lautaro Martinez Should Stay At Inter”

Former AC Milan defender Alessandro Costacurta discussed Inter’s Coppa Italia semi-final clash against Napoli and striker Lautaro Martinez in an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sports Italia yesterday.

“Surely Inter will want to start quickly, but the first game will be the most difficult of all. I still see the Napoli as the favourites, especially after the result in the first leg. I think it will be a balanced match as a result, this is not a normal restart, but recovering after 3 months of nothing.”

The 54-year-old Italian, who spent all but one season of his career with the Rossoneri, then discussed 22-year-old Argentine striker Lautaro Martinez, who is heavily wanted by Spanish giants Barcelona.

“My advice to him is to stay at Inter, but I think there is a chance he will go to Barcelona. In my opinion he could also do a year in Spain without being a starting player, but after the first season the hierarchies in the Blaugrana attack could change and he could be a starter then.”

Inter are facing Napoli in the Coppa Italia semi-finals tonight, playing their first game in three months after the Coronavirus pandemic caused Italian football to totally stop. The Nerazzurri are currently 1-0 down on aggregate after losing the first leg at home, and so need to approach tonight’s game positively in order to walk away with a result.

Coach Antonio Conte is incredibly keen to win the competition with the Milanese club, especially considering that he has never won the Coppa Italia as a coach, and so has identified it as a priority. The club disappointingly exited early from the Champions League and seem like outsiders in the title race.

Inter’s Good Relationship With Agent Pastorello Could Be Key When Trying To Sign Nice’s Malang Sarr

Inter’s relationship with Italian agent Federico Pastorello is increasingly useful, with his involvement in the deal for Malang Sarr potentially being key, according to a report from Italian media outlet PassioneInter earlier today.

The report details how the 46-year-old Italian represents Inter wing back Antonio Candreva, who has shone under coach Antonio Conte this season. Pastorello also helped close out the deals for former Manchester United forward Romelu Lukaku and Conte himself, who was also close to Roma before joining the Nerazzurri last year.

Six players in the Inter squad are also under his management, so a good relationship with the Italian agent is crucial for the Nerazzurri.

Pastorello has been involved in the deal for Nice defender Malang Sarr, the report continues, and his work could be decisive. The player is a free agent and is being followed by many teams, considering his young age of 21 and defensive capabilities.

Italian Media Claims Stefan De Vrij Could Miss Inter’s Coppa Italia Clash Against Napoli Tonight

Inter defender Stefan De Vrij may miss tonight’s vital Coppa Italia clash against Napoli, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Turin based newspaper Tuttosport.

The report details how the 28-year-old Dutch defender’s physical condition is still uncertain, and he could risk injury by playing against the Partenopei tonight in Naples.

Coach Antonio Conte may decide against playing De Vrij, and so could deploy Italian defender Andrea Ranocchia instead.

Ranocchia has barely featured this season, the report continues, but may be able to take to the pitch due to various injuries in the defence department, as Uruguayan veteran Diego Godin and Italian full back Danilo D’Ambrosio are both out injured as well.

Tonight’s game against Napoli is crucial for Conte, who wants to win the competition for the first time in his career as a coach. The Nerazzurri are currently 1-0 down on aggregate after losing at home to Gennaro Gattuso’s squad.

Italian Media Report Coppa Italia Clash Vs Napoli Excellent Chance For Inter’s Christian Eriksen To Prove His Worth

Inter midfielder Christian Eriksen will have the opportunity to prove his worth in tonight’s Coppa Italia clash between the Nerazzurri and Napoli, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Corriere della Sera.

The report details how the 28-year-old Dane has struggled to settle in Milan since arriving in January from Tottenham, in a deal worth €20 million.

Eriksen has only played a little since his arrival and still needs time to adapt to both coach Antonio Conte’s tactical system as well as both a new language and league.

Conte has changed his formation from a 3-5-2 to a 3-4-1-2 to accommodate Eriksen, the report continues, as the Dane will play behind the striking partnership of Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez.

The player is expected to impress in this role and Conte will be hoping that the changed formation will make the former Tottenham midfielder more comfortable in the squad.

Ex-France National Team Coach Domenech: “Inter’s Godin Would Give A Lot To Lyon”

Former France coach Raymond Domenech discussed the possible transfer of Inter defender Diego Godin to Lyon in an interview with French media outlet L’Equipe earlier today.

“Godin is a real player, one who would give Lyon the soul and the rigour, everything the team has been lacking in recent times. And, above all, Lyon lack defenders. Godin is also able to score, he would bring so much to the French club.”

The 34-year-old Godin joined Inter on a free transfer last summer after his contract expired with long time home Atletico Madrid. The Uruguayan defender signed a three-year contract worth €6 million net per season, a high figure that may scare away Lyon, who are unlikely to offer the aging veteran such a high salary.

Godin has struggled to adapt to the tactical system of coach Antonio Conte, being more used to play in a back-four than a back-three. The 34-year-old has even been dropped on occasion for 20-year-old Italian defender Alessandro Bastoni, who has featured more prominently for the Nerazzurri this season than many expected.

Godin has been linked with many top clubs around Europe, including Manchester United and Tottenham, as well as a return to Atletico Madrid, but so far, no offers have arrived.

Godin, Vecino, D’Ambrosio & Agoume To Miss Inter’s Coppa Italia Clash Against Napoli

Inter will be missing four players tonight in their Coppa Italia clash against Napoli through injury, according to a report from Sky Sports Italia journalist Matteo Barzaghi on Twitter earlier today.

The report details how the Nerazzurri will be without Italian full back Danilo D’Ambrosio, Uruguayan defender Diego Godin, Uruguayan midfielder Matias Vecino and 18-year-old French talent Lucien Agoume for tonight’s Coppa Italia semi-final clash against Napoli.

The Milanese club are currently 1-0 down on aggregate, after losing the first leg at home 1-0 to Gennaro Gattuso’s squad. Inter coach Antonio Conte is incredibly keen to win the competition in order to have a successful first season in charge of the Milanese club, the report continues.

Especially important considering the early elimination from the Champions League and the club’s outsider role in the title race between Lazio and Juventus. The winner of tonight’s clash will face Juventus next Wednesday in the Coppa Italia final.

Inter To Go Head To Head With Premier League Clubs Over Nice Defender Malang Sarr

Inter are one of many clubs interested in signing Nice defender Malang Sarr on a free transfer in the summer, and have an advantage over the competition, according to a report from Italian media outlet PassioneInter.com earlier today.

The report details how the Nerazzurri are interested in signing the 21-year-old French defender, who will be in a free agent at the end of this month after his contract expires with Nice.

Inter have made contact with the player’s entourage and hold a slight advantage over their competition due to their excellent relationship with Federico Pastorello, an Italian agent who is part of that entourage.

Several European clubs are interested in signing Sarr, the report continues mentioning unnamed clubs from Germany, England, Spain and as well as other Italian sides also interested in signing the 21-year-old Frenchman.

Sarr has already made more than 130 appearances in his career and has experience playing in a three-man defence, so he would be perfect for coach Antonio Conte’s tactical system.

Spanish Media Claim Inter Dream Of Replacing Barcelona Target Lautaro Martinez With Juventus Paulo Dybala

Inter are dreaming of signing Juventus forward Paulo Dybala, according to a report from Spanish newspaper DonBalon.com earlier today.

The report details how the Nerazzurri are only willing to sell Argentine striker Lautaro Martinez to Barcelona for his €111 million release clause, but despite this, it seems likely that the 22-year-old will leave Milan in the summer.

The club are looking for a replacement and have identified Fiorentina’s Federico Chiesa as theor top target but aren’t keen to pay his €70 million price tag.

Another dream player is Juventus Paulo Dybala, the report continues. Inter considered a possible exchange with him and Mauro Icardi last summer, before the Argentine forward eventually moved to Paris to play for Paris Saint-Germain.

Dybala is an unrealstic target, considering that it’s unlikely that Juventus would be willing to sell their star striker to their biggest rival. Despite this, the Milanese club are still dreaming, appreciating the qualities of la Joya, Don balon continues.
