Video – Inter Recall Davide Santon’s Time With The Club

Inter have taken to social media platform Twitter to recall former full back and Inter academy graduate Davide Santon’s time with the club.

Santon made his first team debut for Inter in January 2009 in a Coppa Italia quarter final victory over Roma and he left the club in 2011 for Newcastle United.

After four years in the Premier League, Santon returned to Inter in 2015 and spent three years with the club before leaving for Roma as part of the deal that brought Radja Nainggolan to Inter.

Inter Manager Antonio Conte Wants A Goalscoring Midfielder In The Side

Inter manager Antonio Conte wants a goal scoring midfielder in his Inter side next season according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Tuttosport.

Throughout his years as a manager, Conte has often had a midfielder capable of popping up with many goals in his side and Radja Nainggolan and Arturo Vidal both fit the bill.

Both the Belgian and Chilean have been reliable sources for goals during their careers and this season Nainggolan has netted five whilst Vidal has netted six, both of which are higher tallies than any current Inter midfielder has managed this season.

It now remains to be seen whether Conte will be satisfied by club management in the coming transfer window.

Nainggolan is in fact already an Inter player, although out on loan at Cagliari, whilst Vidal is at Barcelona and has long been linked with a move to Inter but Barcelona’s demands have previously put Inter off moving for him.

Inter Have Second Worst Record In Serie A For Goals Scored By Substitutes This Season

Inter have the second worst record in Serie A when it comes to goals being scored by substitutes this season a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Tuttosport highlights.

Inter have had just one goal scored by a substitute in the league this term with that goal coming from Alessandro Bastoni in Inter’s 1-1 draw away to Lecce back in January. Only second bottom SPAL have done worse than Inter.

The report from the Turin based news outlet goes on to explain that Inter’s fortunes could be changed in the remainder of the season with thanks to the likes of Christian Eriksen, Alexis Sanchez and Stefano Sensi, who could come off the bench and deliver goals.

In the other competitions Inter have participated in this term, there has only been two goals scored by substitutes with those goals being Nicolo Barella’s against Slavia Prague in the Champions League and Romelu Lukaku’s against Ludogorets in the Champions League.

Lega Calcio Considering Using Average Points System As Backup Plan To Deciding Serie A Season

Lega Serie A clubs are against the idea of the proposed algorithm to decide the standings in the event that the 2019/20 season cannot be finished according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The 20 clubs are against the algorithm put forward by the Italian football federation and the report also explains that the clubs are against the idea of playoffs deciding things at each end of the table too. The clubs would only consider playoffs in the event that the season cannot start back up at all.

Lega Serie A are thinking about the possibility of deciding things on an average points based system if the season cannot be finished, similarly to how other nations, such as Scotland, have decided things.

The average points system will be discussed today at a meeting convened by the Italian football federation and it will also be discussed tomorrow when Lega Serie A are set to meet.

Inter Coach Antonio Conte Not Given Up Hope Of Working With Matteo Darmian Again

Inter manager Antonio Conte has not given up thinking about possibly working with Matteo Darmian again according to a report from Italian news outlet CalcioMercato.com.

The 30-year-old, who is currently on the books of fellow Serie A side Parma, has been linked with and come close to joining Inter in the past and Conte has maintained his interest in the player, who he worked with whilst he was in charge of the Italian national team.

Darmian is under contract with the Ducali club through to the end of the 2022/23 season and his ability to play in any position in the defensive line would make him a real asset to not only Inter but any side in the world.

The former Torino player joined Parma this past Summer from Premier League outfit Manchester United and he has went on to make 22 appearances across all competitions to date this term. In his time on the park, Darmian has provided a single assist.

Inter Coach Conte To Decide What Immediate Future Will Hold For Vagiannidis

Inter manager Antonio Conte will decide what the immediate future will hold for incoming Georgios Vagiannidis according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sky Sport 24 which was aired a short time ago.

Vagiannidis is set to become Inter’s first signing ahead of the new season with him set to arrive on a free transfer from Greek Super League side Panathinaikos.

The report from Sky Sport 24 explains that it will be up to Conte to decide whether the Greek youth national team full back will be part of the first team or if he will spend the first year of his Inter contract out on loan in order to gain some first team experience.

Reports elsewhere in the media have suggested that Vagiannidis has agreed to a four year contract with Inter that will see him earn €300,000 a year plus add-ons.

This season the 18-year-old has made 17 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored five goals and provided a single assist.

Italian Media Reports Chelsea Winger Pedro Offered To Juventus & Inter

Pedro’s representatives have offered their client to both Inter and Juventus in the past few days according to a report from Italian news outlet FCInterNews.it.

The Spaniard’s contract with Premier League Chelsea is set to expire at the end of this month and the report explains that the former Barcelona player is looking to finish his career with a spell playing in Italy.

Contacts between his representatives and Roma have been ongoing for a few weeks and both Inter and Juventus have stated they are open to holding talks over potentially bringing him in.

Inter manager Antonio Conte and Juventus manager Maurizio Sarri both rate the 32-year-old highly with both of them having had success whilst managing him in the past.

The report goes on to explain that the only player in Inter’s current squad is Alexis Sanchez but the Chilean is only on loan at Inter and him staying permanently is rather complicated due to his huge salary.

Pedro could therefore be brought in to take the space that will be vacated by Sanchez and could sign a two year contract with an annual salary of between €4-5 million.

Spanish Media Claim Barcelona Having Second Thoughts On Signing Inter’s Lautaro Martinez

Barcelona are beginning to have doubts about signing Lautaro Martinez from Inter according to a report from Spanish football journalist Francesc Aguilar, who works for Mundo Deportivo.

According to Aguilar, Barcelona’s pursuit of the highly rated 22-year-old striker has become complicated not just because of Inter being unwilling to drop below €90 million but because Barcelona management are hesitant to sign him whilst trying to get the players to agree to a salary reduction.

Barcelona have reached an agreement with Lautaro over personal terms and know that if they are to pull the plug on a move Lautaro is likely to take it very badly and renegotiating after July would be difficult.

Moreover, Aguilar goes on to claim that Barcelona are seriously thinking about whether Lautaro is truly worth the €90 million Inter want for him. The Catalan based club do not have money and have yet to sell any players to raise funds either.
