Photo – Ex-Inter Player Benny Carbone Recalls What It Meant To Join Inter

Former Inter player Benito ‘Benny’ Carbone has taken to photo sharing social media platform Instagram to share what it meant to him to be able to play for the club.

Carbone joined Inter in the Summer of 1995 from fellow Serie A club Napoli and spent a single season on the clubs books before departing for English side Sheffield Wednesday.

During his season with the Nerazzurri club, the now 48-year-old made 43 appearances in which he scored three goals.

He posted: “When at 24 you realise your dream of wearing the shirt of your heart, of playing with the team you have always supported, you understand how much the talent and sacrifices made can transform reality.

“I would have so much to tell about that year lived with an intensity that I had never tried, in a role that certainly was not mine but that I loved just to show that that place was wanted.

“A season that put everyone to the test because there was so much to build…a cohesive group that represented the foundations of its future success. A new Inter that was one step away from glory.”

Ex-Inter Striker Adriano: “I Want To Apologize To & Also Thank The Inter Fans For How They’ve Treated Me”

In an interview with Inter’s official YouTube channel as part of the ‘Inter Classics’ series, legendary former Inter striker Adriano has reminisced about Inter’s 2-1 Milan derby win over city rivals AC Milan in February 2009.

“I scored a header in that game, my hand helped a little but I did not do it on purpose. It was very important and exciting to play in the most important game in the city,” he began the interview.

“Personally speaking, I approached this game nervously because I knew I was going to face great opponents. To score a goal in the derby is an impressive thing.”

There were many Brazilians competing in the match for both sides and Adriano then spoke on that and former teammate Maicon.

“It was nice because we made fun of those who lost. We spoke on the phone to talk about the match, it was a beautiful thing. Maicon gave me many assists, we knew each other well because we played in the national team together, with him it was easy.”

He then went on to share which he believes was the best of his 74 goals that he scored during his time on Inter’s books.

“The best one that I scored was against Real Madrid. That game was important for my career as it made me known. Seedorf told Materazzi to let me shoot and it was a surprise to me but thank God everything well well, I scored a nice goal.

In conclusion Adriano, who also played for the likes of Flamengo and Parma during his playing career, thanked the Inter fans for the support they showed him whilst he was with the club.

“I wish to thank the fans for making me the emperor. I thank them for the good times as Inter has always been my second home and it still is today too.

“I ended my adventure because my head was not in the right place after my father’s death. I left not because I did not want to play for Inter anymore but because of that personal matter.

“I wish to apologise to the fans for that and thank them because they treated me well even in difficult times, I hope to return one day to see you all.”

Adriano had two spells with Inter and spent a total of six years on the clubs books. He made 177 appearances across all competitions and on top of scoring 74 goals, he also provided 27 assists for his teammates.

Inter Owners Suning’s Managing Director Zhang Jindong: “The Impact Of COVID-19 On Chinese Economy Is Only Temporary”

Jindong Zhang, the managing director of Inter’s majority shareholders Suning, has revealed that the impact of the Coronavirus crisis on the Chinese economy will only be temporary and will not affect investments.

“The impact of the Coronavirus on China is only temporary and will not change the foundations of China’s long-term economic growth,” he remarked as part of an interview with Chinese news outlet Securities Times, as quoted by Italian news outlet FCInterNews.it.

He then went on to reveal that Suning’s plans remain unchanged.

“In 2020, the general objective of developing Suning’s will remain unchanged, Suning will constantly increase investment in retail infrastructure such as raw materials, logistics, science and technology.”

Suning purchased a majority stake in Inter from Indonesian tycoon Erick Thohir back in the Summer of 2016 which included legendary president Massimo Moratti’s final shares in the clubs too.

Since taking charge of the club, Suning have invested significant amounts of cash into various areas to better Inter as a club.

The Chinese company have spent a few hundred million on transfers alone and have also massively improved the club’s financial situation with a number of new sponsorship deals, most of which have been agreed with Asian based companies.

Inter Striker Romelu Lukaku: “I’ll Never Forgive André Villas-Boas For How He Treated Me At Chelsea”

Inter striker Romelu Lukaku has claimed that he is yet to and will never forgive Andres Villas-Boas for the way he treated him whilst he was at Premier League club Chelsea.

“Villas-Boas took a lot away from me and I will never forgive him for that,” the Belgian national team striker remarked in an interview with Belgian news outlet Het Laatste Nieuws.

“Villas-Boas was under pressure but he didn’t have to treat me like that. Di Matteo approached me completely differently, he immediately involved me in everything. That should have been much earlier. Really, I never forgave the previous manager.”

Despite being with Chelsea when they won the Champions League in the 2011/12 season, the former West Bromwich Albion striker went on to insist that he does not count it amongst his honours.

“Di Matteo told me that I would stay with the group until after the final. He thought everyone should come along, including the ones who were suspended and the few boys who were not in the Champions League squad. I am also grateful to him for that.

“This win is one of the things I’ve always dreamed about. You want to celebrate something like that with the team at that time. I didn’t touch it with a finger because I didn’t win this trophy myself.

“This has been the case since I was eleven: if I have not contributed anything, it is not my trophy. Only if you have contributed to a cup or a title yourself, you can also show it off.”

Lukaku joined Inter this past Summer in a club record €65 million transfer deal from Manchester United and has been in sensational form in his first year representing the Nerazzurri club.

The 27-year-old striker, who has a contract with Inter until the end of the 2023/24 season, has made a total of 35 appearances across all competitions to date this term, in which he has scored 23 goals and provided five assists for his teammates.

Good News For Inter’s & AC Milan’s New Stadium Plans – Regional Commission For Cultural Herita ge Of Lombardy Deems San Siro Stadium “Has No Cultural Interest”

The Regional Commission for Cultural Heritage of Lombardy have ruled that San Siro has no cultural interest according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper La Repubblica.

The commission have made their decision on the basis that as a result of a series of renovations to the stadium, very little of the stadium, which was built back in 1926 actually remains.

This ruling will now pave the way for Inter and AC Milan, who have laid out plans to build a new state of the art stadium, to come to an agreement with the Milan City Council over the new stadium project which will also see the surrounding area given a completely new lease of life.

Part of San Siro will remain and be incorporated into the Nerazzurri and Rossoneri new stadium project which will feature a lot of green space, hotels, restaurants and other things that will keep the area busy when there is no football being played.
