Atletico Madrid & Inter To Go Head To Head Over Edinson Cavani If PSG Sign €70M Rated Mauro Icardi

Only one of Mauro Icardi and Edinson Cavani will remain with Paris Saint-Germain whilst the other will leave the club this Summer according to a report in today’s print edition of Tuttosport.

Icardi is currently out on loan at the French outfit from Inter and the newly crowned Ligue 1 champions have an option to sign him on a permanent basis for a sum of €70 million.

Cavani is meanwhile out of contract with the club at the end of next month.

PSG are said to be interested in keeping Icardi around but want Inter to grant them a discount and would even be willing to offer Leandro Paredes and Julian Draxler as part of a deal for the 27-year-old.

If Icardi does end up remaining in the French capital, the report from the Turin based newspaper goes on to explain that it will be a battle between Inter and Atletico Madrid for the signature of Cavani.

Inter Turn Focus To PSG’s Edinson Cavani As Dries Mertens Set To Extend Contract With Napoli

With Dries Mertens seemingly set to sign a contract extension with Napoli, Inter have now shifted their attention onto Paris Saint Germain forward Edinson Cavani according to a report in today’s print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport.

Inter looked set to land Mertens on a free transfer but things changed completely yesterday when Napoli upped their contract extension offer and now Mertens appears to only be a step away from prolonging his stay at the Stadio San Paolo.

Due to this, Inter will now focus on Cavani, whose contract is due to expire at the end of the month. He would like to sign a contract extension with the French capital city club but to date there is nothing on this front and perhaps never will be.

The report then goes on to add that Inter are refusing to drop their demands for striker Lautaro Martinez, who continues to be linked with a move to Barcelona.

If Barcelona manage to convince Inter to part ways with Lautaro, then the Nerazzurri club will go in for RB Leipzig’s Timo Werner, who has also been linked to Liverpool.

The 24-year-old German international has a release clause in his contract which will be €60 million if RB Leipzig win the Bundesliga or €50 million if they do not.

Inter & PSG Both Interested In Signing Real Madrid Owned €50M Rated Achraf Hakimi

Inter are interested in signing Real Madrid owned Achraf Hakimi to strengthen at right wing back according to a report in today’s print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Moroccan has starred whilst out on loan at German Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund and the report goes on to claim that Real Madrid will demand at least €50 million to let him depart the club in the upcoming Summer transfer window.

Inter are however not alone in courting the very highly rated 21-year-old with recently crowned Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint Germain also said to be keen on adding him to their ranks.

As for left wing back, the report from the Milan based newspaper goes on to explain that Inter are interested in Chelsea’s Emerson Palmieri and Barcelona’s Junior Firpo.

Inter have long been linked with a move for Emerson and even tried to get him back in January but were put off by Chelsea’s demands.

Inter’s interest in Firpo is a lot more recent and many reports elsewhere have stated that Inter could acquire him as part of a deal for Lautaro Martinez.

Walter Samuel: “Conte Has Very Clear Ideas, I’m Happy That Javier Zanetti Is Inter’s Vice President”

In an interview with Corriere dello Sport, former Inter defender Walter Samuel discussed a range of Inter related topics and started by speaking on current Inter manager Antonio Conte.

“I met Conte when he played, he seems to me to be a strong manager with very clear ideas,” he began the interview which appeared in yesterday’s print edition.

Samuel then went on to discuss what it was like to work under former Inter manager Jose Mourinho, who led the club to their greatest ever success, the treble win in the 2009/10 season.

“I got on well with him, he showed me that he believed in me and always made me play. He managed to get the most out of every player.”

Next the former Basel defender spoke on legendary former Inter president and owner Massimo Moratti and his relationship with him.

“When needed, he was close to the team. I have beautiful memories of him. Moratti has done a lot for Inter, he will miss football but has taken many satisfactions away from it and I’m happy about this. The relationship with him was beautiful, he treated us like we were his own children. He is a great person.”

Samuel then spoke on former Inter and Argentine teammate Javier Zanetti, who is now vice president of Inter after playing for the club for just shy of twenty years.

“He knew that this would happen. He began to prepare, he studied and the experience he has will help him a lot. It is one thing to play and another to be part of the management. I am very happy for him.”

In conclusion he reminsiced about some of the top players that he was able to play alongisde during his spells with both Roma and Inter as well as the Argentine national team.

“I was lucky enough to play alongside many. I played with Messi in 2010 in South Africa, at Roma there was Totti, Batistuta, Balbo, Aldair and Cafu and then many others at Inter such as Ibrahimovic, Milito, Eto’o and Zanetti. It was a pleasure for me to play with them.”

Sandro Mazzola: “Aside From Being An AC Milan Fan Gennaro Gattuso Is The Perfect Coach For Inter”

Legendary Inter player Sandro Mazzola has sensationally suggested that current Napoli manager and former AC Milan player Gennaro Gattuso would be the perfect manager for Inter.

Gattuso spent some 13 years on the books of Inter’s city rivals and was also their manager between 2017 and 2019 but Mazzola, who spent the entirety of his playing career on Inter’s books, thinks that the 2006 World Cup winner would be the perfect person to manage Inter given his character.

“Leaving the fact that he is an AC Milan fan, he is the perfect manager for Inter because Inter is synonymous with temperament, conviction and determination At Napoli he will do great things because he really has extraordinary skills,” Mazzola explained in an interview with Il Mattino, which appeared in yesterday’s print edition.

Gattuso took charge of Napoli in December 2019 and has won nine of his 15 games in charge so far, which includes wins over the current top three in Serie A, Juventus, Lazio and Inter.

The 42-year-old, who has a contract with Napoli until the end of next season, has managed a total of 221 games in his managerial career to date, in which he has also managed FC Sion, Palermo, Pisa and OFI Crete. He has won 92 games as a manager.

Liniers President Pablo: “If Inter’s Lautaro Martinez Signs For Barcelona, We Could Afford To Build Schools”

Carlos Pablo, the president of Lautaro Martinez’s former club Liniers, has revealed what the club would do with money they would receive should he move on to another club.

The 22-year-old has been heavily linked with a Summer transfer window switch to reigning La Liga champions Barcelona and should he move, Liniers will be entitled to a percentage of whatever the transfer fee is.

Reports suggest that Inter want his €111 million release clause paid or €90 million plus a player or two whilst other reports have stated Barcelona do not want to pay that much for the Argentine national team striker.

“If Lautaro were to transfer to Barcelona, it would allow us to build school buildings within our sports complex, which is very large, but also strategically located next to a golf club, with fast access roads,” Pablo remarked in an interview with the online edition of Spanish news outlet Mundo Deportivo.

“We would start with nursery and primary schools and then we would also build secondary schools. I have not said anything to Lautaro about the idea of schools but he will surely be very happy.”

Pablo continued: “He always asks me what we are doing and how the work is going. He is very aware of everything that happens here, he wants the club to grow.”

This season Lautaro, who has a contract with Inter until the end of the 2022/23 season, has made 31 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored 16 goals and provided a total of four assists for his teammates.
