Cagliari Director Passetti: “It’s Complicated But If We Can Keep Inter Owned Nainggolan We Will”

Cagliari director Mario Passetti has revealed that if possible, despite how complicated it would be, the club will keep on loan Radja Nainggolan past the end of this season.

Nainggolan joined the Sardinia based Rossoblu outfit this past Summer on a season long loan from Inter, who judged him as being out of the club’s project.

His loan has been extended until the end of the Serie A season and in an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, Passetti has refused to rule out the possibility of the Belgian remaining with the club past the end of the season.

“Nainggolan staying? We will talk about it at the end of the season, I remain consistent with the answer of all time,” Passetti explained in the interview which took place on Wednesday evening.

“There are so many games until the end of the season. You know the situation, there is nothing new or to hide. If it will be possible to keep him, we will do it. It will be extremely complicated, but we will try.”

Since his return to Cagliari, where he had previously spent four years, Nainggolan has made 26 appearances across all competitions to date. During his time on the park, which totals just under 2100 minutes, he has scored six goals and provided seven assists for his teammates.

Inter & Napoli Last 2 Clubs In The Running To PSG’s Sign Edinson Cavani After Roma Pull Out

Inter are one of two clubs still in the running to sign Edinson Cavani according to a report from French news outlet Le10Sport.

The Uruguayan national team forward is a free agent following his contract expiring with French powerhouses Paris Saint-Germain in the past few days.

Inter face competition from fellow Serie A side and Cavani’s former employers Napoli. Inter have been courting Cavani for some time whilst Napoli could bring Cavani back to the club with money raised through the possible sales of Arek Milik or Kalidou Koulibaly.

The report explains that Atletico Madrid are no longer interested in signing Cavani and Roma have also pulled out of the race to sign him due to his high salary demands.

This past season the 33-year-old has made 22 appearances across all competitions to date. In his time on the park, he scored seven goals and provided a total of three assists for his teammates.

Inter Coach Antonio Conte: “I Expect Alexis Sanchez To Be Better & Continue Like This”

Having carried out an interview with media outlet DAZN, Inter manager Antonio Conte addressed the media as a whole in a press conference following on from Inter’s emphatic 6-0 win over Brescia.

Inter quickly took the lead via full back Ashley Young and scored another two through Alexis Sanchez and Danilo D’Ambrosio by the time the half time interval came around.

Inter started the second half well with Roberto Gagliardini scoring early doors whilst Christian Eriksen and Antonio Candreva rounded off the scoring for Inter in a well deserved victory.

“When playing frequently it is inevitable that you need to make changes, the important thing is that these massive changes do not change the team,” Conte told the gathered media at the press conference.

“My players know what to do, in training I mixed the teams up so everyone could get used to everyone. I received good answers, I had no doubts about this because I have guys with great heart and courage.

“We have to improve psychologically because sometimes we can be careless but I am proud and happy. Today I want to do highlight a particular player, even if I never do.

“Borja Valero deserves praise, he has always been ready with great professionalism in all emergencies, even though I never used him at the beginning. He played an exceptional game.”

He was then asked what his expectations of Alexis Sanchez are after the Chilean national team player put in a man of the match performance.

“I expect him to be better. Let’s remember that we’ve never had him available this season, we’ve played the whole season with only Lautaro, Lukaku and Esposito. Sometimes you see the glass half empty but nobody considers that we only had three attackers for a long time.

“Having Sanchez in top condition leaves me more relaxed in my choices, as happened with Parma where he acted as an extra midfielder, because he has different characteristics compared to Lukaku and Lautaro. Now he must continue like this.

“Can he play more? What do you mean can he play more? He has played all the matches so far. The problem is that we didn’t have him before. I laugh when I hear bullsh*t like this.”

In conclusion he was asked about whether he is worried that he will only have the former Barcelona player available him until the end of the Serie A season.

“This is a problem that the club must solve. We have done without Sanchez for three quarters of the season, of course that now that he has reached these levels I would like to have him until the end. I cannot enter into discussions that do not belong to me.”

Inter Defender Danilo D’Ambrosio: “Our Mentality Has Changed Since The Sassuolo Draw”

Inter defender Danilo D’Ambrosio has admitted that on top of securing a big win, he and teammates are happy to have recorded a clean sheet against lowly Brescia.

The natural full back played in the three man backline for the 6-0 triumph over La Rondinelle and he was among Inter’s goalscorers in the match with him heading home Inter’s third goal of the game on the stroke of half time.

“It’s always a pleasure to score goals, but with the amount we scored tonight the important thing was to keep a clean sheet,” he explained in an interview with Inter’s official club broadcaster Inter TV following the full time whistle at San Siro.

“We’re really happy to have scored so many, but we’re also happy not to have let any in, because in recent games we’ve been conceding too many.”

Next he spoke on Inter’s high tempo style of play and insisted that the team have their heads down and are working hard.

“The manager is always looking for input from the wide players. We never drop our tempo, we work hard to win the ball high up the pitch and we work hard to get results. We try to put into practice what he asks us, we work a lot. Our heads are down and we are pedalling.”

Next he was asked what has changed from the 3-3 draw with Sassuolo with Inter having won both of their matches following what was a disappointing draw with the Neroverdi side.

“The mentality. We were disappointed not to get to the final of the Coppa Italia and with the draw against Sassuolo, but we haven’t let our heads drop, because we want to get back to winning ways. The manager doesn’t cut us any slack because he knows that we’re capable of achieving so much.”

The Italian then spoke on the wide range of different goalscorers that Inter have had in the past few games.

“Our mentality is to be more attacking than at the beginning of the season, we press high. The manager asks everyone in turn to push forward, the team is proactive. We have quality and try to put what we do in training into practice in matches.”

Inter Coach Antonio Conte: “This Is A Splendid Group, Attack Me But Not The Players Or The Club”

Inter manager Antonio Conte has admitted he is happy that the team never took the foot off of the gas in their emphatic 6-0 triumph over Brescia this evening.

Inter went ahead early doors thanks to Ashley Young, Alexis Sanchez doubled the lead and Danilo D’Ambrosio scored Inter’s third on the brink of half time.

Roberto Gagliardini scored soon after the second half started and Christian Eriksen and Antonio Candreva finished off the rout with goals of their own nearer the end of the contest at San Siro.

“There is certainly satisfaction. We were good at winning but I liked the attitude of the team that never stopped, always looked forward keeping the foot on the accelerator. We have scored many goals and have not conceded any. This thing must give us satisfaction,” he remarked in an interview with sports broadcaster DAZN following the match.

Next he was asked what positives can be taken from the match.

“Looking at Inter there are always many, then it depends on whether you want to look at the glass half full or half empty. For Inter you want to look at the glass half empty and create problems, but for me there is no problem. Attack me instead of the players or the club. ”

Conte then proceeded to be asked how he is managing striker Lautaro Martinez, who has been continually linked with a potential switch to Barcelona.

“You cannot fault his commitment. In a match like this he deserved a goal due to the opportunities he created. He deserved satisfaction.

“I am calm, I know we have this mini-tournament to do and I know I have good, professional guys who love Inter. All players have their qualities and their defects but they are splendid boys.

“They work hard and in the game sometimes they can make mistakes and I am sorry because sometimes we are seriously careless and that has made us lose points.”

He then proceeded to sing the praises of Alexis Sanchez who put in a man of the match performance with him grabbing a goal and multiple assists.

“Sanchez was signed due to his quality. In the first half of the season we played with Lautaro and Lukaku without any suitable alternatives and sometimes let Esposito play.

“Now Alexis is fine, he is not at his best but he is on the right track. Against Parma he came on with the right attitude and I liked it, today I have seen great commitment on his part. Having three strikers now makes me feel more relaxed.”

The former Italian national team boss proceeded to discuss how much this team can grow.

“We have to finish the season in the best way, then sum things up. We are working hard, we have also taken advantage of this period of forced parking to propose something different than at the beginning.

“Honestly, since we started again, I have liked the team because I have proposed certain ideas and situations that we are trying again. Sometimes the result does not go your way and you are penalised and it seems that everything you are doing is negative.”

Next he praised Victor Moses, who ran Brescia ragged and put in a top performance.

“I’m happy, he was with me at Chelsea. If he is physically well he is a player who can be a protagonist. He had difficulties because he had several physical problems in Turkey, but he is an important player.”

In conclusion he spoke on the team as a whole.

“In terms of this team’s heart and generosity I have nothing to complain about but we need to make few mistakes and naivety has sometimes cost us on a psychological level.

“We can grow in this regard as this team is still quite young. Let’s focus from here to the end of the season, then let’s see what happens.”

Inter’s Roberto Gagliardini: “Today I Scored A Goal In Same Goal I Missed Last Week”

Inter central midfielder Roberto Gagliardini has shared his belief that Inter were deserving winners against Brescia earlier on tonight.

Inter smashed the relegation threatened Rondinelle 6-0 with three goals coming in each half of the game. Gagliardini got his name on the score sheet with him scoring Inter’s fourth goal as he headed home an Alexis Sanchez free kick.

“We had a great game. From the beginning of the match we set the pace and we got a well deserved result,” he explained in an interview with sports broadcaster DAZN following the match at San Siro this evening.

He was then asked about Inter managing to keep a clean sheet, something that they have failed to do for some time now prior to this match.

“It’s an aspect of the game which we have to improve on and today the goal, besides winning, was not to concede.”

He then spoke on what it meant to be able to score this week having missed an open goal in the 3-3 draw with Sassuolo two games ago.

“It was a week different to the others. Today I scored a goal in the same goal where I missed last week. I lived it serenely, aware of the mistake I had made and the points lost with Sassuolo, but we have since played two games and picked up six points.”

Next the Italian midfielder, who Inter recruited from fellow Serie A side Atalanta in 2017, spoke on Inter’s Serie A title chances and whether he believes that he and his teammates have a shot at winning the title.

“Yes, absolutely. Game after game we will try to score points and in the end we will see what happens.”

Player Ratings Inter 6 – 0 Brescia: Game, Set & Match Nerazzurri After A Show From Alexis Sanchez

All Interisti wished for ever since football came back has been a non-complicated boring win. This time their wishes came true as Conte-ball worked perfectly.

The start could have been a horror show but once Young scored, it looked like a training session as Serie B bound Brescia were torn apart multiple times by the Alexis Sanchez and Victor Moses show.

Samir Handanovic – 6.5: No shots on target in the first half. Passed the ball well when the defense was pressed. Came off his line to cut out any danger Brescia posed. Calm.

Danilo D’Ambrosio – 7: When fit, Danilo does the basics right and against most teams in Serie A that is enough. Scored a goal at the stroke of halftime to kill any Brescia hope.

Stefan de Vrij – 6.5: Not much pressure from Brescia’s attack who did not create anything but did not sit back all game. Got an unnecessary booking and Conte took him off.

Alessandro Bastoni – 7.5 : Continues his purple patch. Did not make any major errors, always manages to foray forward, and find himself in space and team to start a move.

Victor Moses – 7: Victor had a huge confidence boost in Parma, and it showed as he was the hot knife and Brescia were the helpless butter especially in the first half.

Nicolo Barella – 7: Looked much fitter tonight than Sunday. Did the dirty work and as usual never, ever stopped running or competing. Plays way beyond his years.

Roberto Gagliardini – 6.5: Terrible start by Gagliardini but as the team grew in confidence, so did he. Was a threat going forward and used his physique well to finally score.

Ashley Young – 7: Just like Gagliardini, made a terrible error to start the game that went unpunished. Then Alexis lofted that cross and the volley calmed everyone.

Borja Valero – 6: Struggled to get involved as everyone around him was way too quick for him. Did not manage to have any impact till about the chance for Lautaro.

Alexis Sanchez – 8: Sanchez was on it from the first minute tonight. Dropping deep, holding the ball and completely blew Brescia’s defenders away by pace and strength.

Lautaro Martinez – 6: Trying to hard especially in the first half. Needs a goal to find some calm in his mind to play like he did at the start of the season. Maybe next time.

Andrea Ranocchia – 6: Ranocchia was brought on to protect De Vrij as the Dutch international was booked. Did a job of keeping harrying Torregrossa and win aerial balls.

Lucien Agoume – 6.5: Agoume looks like a fine young prospect. 30 minutes to show his talent and used it well. The booking was not smart but looked so calm and collected.

Antonio Candreva – 6.5: Hit the post and scored with his left. Stayed back as the team were leading by plenty and used what possession he got wisely. Not much else to do.

Christian Eriksen – 6.5: Seemed off pace as soon as he came on but adjusted his movements accordingly. Determination and concentration shown to get his first Serie A goal.

Romelu Lukaku – 6: Could have scored at least 1 tonight, he tried to save as much energy as he could. His movement was good as usual and resulted in Eriksen’s goal

Antonio Conte – 7.5 : All things went to plan for Conte tonight. Right from the moment when Donnarumma wasted that chance, all things clicked and blew Brescia away.

Gianluca Manganiello – 8: Very good refereeing tonight. Got almost all decisions right even the minor ones. Did not waste time with VAR when it was not needed. Refreshing.

Inter – 7: Finally, a boring, comfortable easy win. The fans wanted it and will now crave the goals and domination to seal the Champions League berth.
