Moussa Dembele’s possible arrival at Inter will not stop them from pursuing Nicolo Barella but could affect when the Cagliari youngster joins the Nerazzurri as per a report from Corriere dello Sport.

Dembele’s arrival could open up the opportunity for Inter to get creative in how they land Barella and it could ultimately knock a few million off his €40 million price tag. Inter could look to sign Barella this summer but leave him in Sardinia for a further season to allow him to continue on his current growth path with the Rossoblu. As well as doing this, Inter could add some young players in to the deal to further bring his price down.

The 21-year-old midfielder has asserted himself as one of the top Italian prospects and has garnered plenty of interest from clubs for his continued good performances for Cagliari, who he is under contract with through to the end of the 2021/22 season.

Matteo Politano has leapt over Simone Verdi in Inter’s winger wishlist according to a report from Turin based newspaper Tuttosport.

With Inter competing on three fronts next season, manager Luciano Spalletti needs more rotation options as with it being highly unlikely that starting winger Antonio Candreva will be able to keep up with all the games without needing a period of rest at some stage.

The Sassuolo man is valued at €25 million currently but Inter could look to at least half that fee by inserting young players Andrea Pinamonti and Federico Valietti in to the deal, both of whom were almost bought by the Neroverdi back in the January transfer window.

However, it will not be plain sailing for Inter in their pursuit of the 24-year-old – who is under contract at the MAPEI Stadium until 2022 – due to interest in his services from elsewhere in the Italian peninsula, namely from Napoli and rivals Milan.

With Roma looking to add Atalanta’s Bryan Cristante to their ranks, it is likely that one of Kevin Strootman and Radja Nainggolan will leave the capital club during this summer’s transfer window as per a report from Gazzetta dello Sport.

Roma have doubts over whether Strootman is the right person to fit in manager Eusebio Di Francesco’s system going forward and whether Radja Nainggolan can still offer the performances everyone knows he can deliver on a consistent basis.

Both players have recently comes in to links with Inter who are looking to transform their midfield ahead of competing in next season’s Champions League. Strootman would be an ideal partner for Marcelo Brozovic in the midfield two of Spalletti’s 4-2-3-1 system while Nainggolan would probably be better utilised in a more advanced role on the pitch.

The Milanese newspaper add that Strootman has a €32 million release clause in his contract that expires in 2022 but suggest that the Giallorossi may take a lower fee.

Contact between Inter and Moussa Dembele’s agent are at an advanced stage according to a report from Corriere dello Sport.

Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio is to travel to London in the coming days for a meeting with Tottenham Hotspur officials regarding the Belgian midfielder, who is regarded as Inter’s number one midfield target for the summer transfer window.

Dembele is under contract with Spurs through to the end of next season and is yet to sign a renewal however and the Roman newspaper state that he considers his time with the north London club to be over. I is understood that Spurs are looking for no less than €30 million to part ways with him but his will could help play a part in bringing his price-tag down. At 31-years-old, Dembele is looking for his last big payday and could be open to a new experience in Serie A with the Nerazzurri.
