Corriere dello Sport are the latest news outlet to link Inter with Dinamo Zagreb defender Filip Benkovic and they report that Inter are now considering whether to make a move for him already.

“Benkovic has confirmed all his qualities this season, which is why the Corso Vittorio Emanuele club are considering carefully whether to sink the blow or not. Relations with Dinamo Zagreb are good, so there would be a margin to find an agreement, without prejudice to the fact that the price of the defender’s card is already in double-digits.”

The signing of Benkovic acts as a form of security for Inter’s defence where there are lots of uncertainties with regard to the player’s futures. Milan Skriniar is subject to interest from many top European clubs while Miranda could potentially return to Brazil. Andrea Ranocchia’s future with the club is unclear also.

The 20-year-old centre back has made 29 appearances for the Croatian side this term in all competitions, scoring four times and assisting one as well as helping the team toward 10 clean sheets when he has played.

Gazzetta dello Sport report that Inter have today officially deposited the contract of Stefan de Vrij.

“It’s official! From July de Vrij will wear the Inter shirt. Inter have deposited his five-year contract worth €4.2 million plus bonuses per season.”

The move has been in the pipeline for a number of months and now only official confirmation of the transfer from Inter is lacking. The Dutch central defender’s contract with Lazio expires at the end of the current season and with Inter set for a final day match-up with Lazio, it is highly unlikely that the Nerazzurri will announce the transfer before the game takes place. It will however be interesting to see if the 26-year-old will play against his new club when the sides meet on May 20.

De Vrij has been with the Stadio Olimpico outfit since 2014 and amassed over 100 appearances for the Biancocelesti in that time with 45 of those appearances coming this season.
