Inter players Joao Miranda and Roberto Gagliardini are both expected to return from injury before the end of the season, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

Miranda was forced to sit out the Nerazzurri’s 4-0 win over Udinese on Sunday after picking up an injury during the warm-up at the Dacia Arena, while Gagliardini has been out of action since 17 April after straining his thigh in the victory over Cagliari.

However both are recovering well and should be available for the crunch match against Lazio on the final day of the Serie A season, with Miranda likely to return for this weekend’s game with Sassuolo.

“Miranda’s tests revealed a contracture to the adductor muscle in his right thigh, which caused him to pull up during the warm-up before Udinese-Inter,” the Milan-based publication wrote on Wednesday.

“The injury is nothing serious, although his condition will be monitored on a daily basis by the medical staff to see whether he can be available for Saturday’s match against Sassuolo, or if they should focus on getting him 100% fit for the Champions League play-off against Lazio.”

Gagliardini continues to follow a personalised training program and is aiming to return for the match at the Stadio Olimpico on 20 May.

Intervistato ai microfoni della “Rivista Undici”, Alessandro Costacurta, subcommissario della FIGC, ha rilasciato alcune dichiarazioni annunciando l’arrivo delle seconde squadre in Lega Pro a partire dalla prossima stagione, la loro composizione ed il funzionamento

IL BANDO – Queste le parole di Alessandro Costacurta, subcommissario della FIGC: «Dal prossimo anno i club di Serie A potranno avere delle seconde squadre, e le portano iscrivere ai campionati di Lega Pro, occupando i posti delle società che non si iscriveranno. Quest’anno non ci saranno ripescaggi e i buchi saranno occupati proprio dai club che aderiranno al bando».

CRITERI DI COMPOSIZIONE – «Le squadre B saranno composte di calciatori under 21, con la possibilità di introdurre due fuori quota under 23 e dovranno avere in rosa un numero minimo di giocatori (ancora da definire) convocabili per le Nazionali italiane. Le squadre parteciperanno al campionato regolarmente con eventuali promozioni o retrocessioni. C’è un’unica limitazione: non potranno mai giocare nel campionato della prima squadra».

Antonio Candreva has warned his Inter team-mates that they cannot afford to take their eye off the ball against Sassuolo on Saturday.

Luciano Spalletti’s side face Lazio on the final day of the Serie A season in what is expected to be a showdown for Italy’s final Champions League spot, but in order to ensure that match is meaningful they must first beat the Neroverdi at San Siro this weekend.

“It’s crucial we don’t get distracted,” Candreva told Inter TV on Tuesday. “If we don’t pick up three points on Saturday we won’t be able to go to Rome and fight for the Champions League.

“We can’t take anything for granted, we have to give everything. We’ve reached the decisive moment of the season now, there are only two games left and we want to reach our objective.”

Inter are expected to be cheered on by a 70,000-strong crowd at San Siro on Saturday, in what will be their final home match of the 2017-18 campaign.

“The fans have always given us a hand,” Candreva added. “I’ve been in Milan for two years now and they’ve always been behind us. Even during last season, despite it not having been a good campaign.”
