Lautaro Martinez will begin his adventure as an Inter player at the start of July, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

Martinez’s current club Racing Avellaneda are keen on keeping the player until the end of the calendar year, so as to have him available until the end of the Argentine club season, and will make a formal request to Inter when the two clubs meet in Milan in a couple of weeks’ time.

However the Nerazzurri are unwilling to grant such a concession and intend to bring the striker to Appiano Gentile for the start of pre-season in July.

“From 23 May onwards every day is good for Martinez’s arrival in Italy,” the Milanese publication wrote on Wednesday. “Lautaro will wear the Inter shirt from 1 July onwards and this is what Racing’s representatives will be told in the upcoming meeting with the Nerazzurri.”

Martinez is at the centre of Inter’s sporting project for the coming years and will provide Luciano Spalletti with new attacking options for the following campaign, offering him the chance to deviate from the 4-2-3-1 system used religiously throughout this season.

“Before flying into Milan Martinez will play five more matches with Racing: two in the league, two in the Argentine cup and one in the Copa Libertadores. It is after the Libertadores match away to Cruzeiro that Racing’s diplomatic mission in Italy will begin, but it is unlikely to be a fruitful one.”

Da qui la decisione da parte del gruppo Suning di non rinnovare il contratto in scadenza a giugno per gestire in proprio le aree dello stadio dedicate ai tifosi nerazzurri tramite IN.

Inter are contemplating the idea of resigning Mateo Kovacic in the upcoming summer transfer window, according to Corriere dello Sport.

Kovacic made 97 appearances in two-and-a-half seasons for the Nerazzurri before he was sold to Real Madrid for €29 million in the summer of 2015, signing a six-year contract upon arrival.

During his time in Spain the midfielder has won eight trophies in less than three seasons, including two Champions Leagues and one La Liga title, but has only made 19 appearances in La Liga during the current campaign.

The Rome-based publication therefore believe Kovacic is considering the idea of leaving Los Blancos in the summer, in order to find more game time, and that Inter could fit the bill for him.

“Inter could be the right club for Kovacic to return to the spotlight,” they wrote on Wednesday. “However this is of course on the condition that the Nerazzurri are involved in next season’s Champions League, otherwise it will not be possible.

“If Europe’s top club competition is a key condition for the Croatian, though, Inter could offer him everything he would want, or rather a club that he knows well and therefore would not need time to settle into.”

Following Piero Ausilio’s proclamation last week that Inter were pursuing a ‘young’ player who ‘might arrive from a top club’, alongside Kovacic the paper has also identified Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot and Manchester United winger Anthony Martial as potential transfer targets for the following season.
