E di fronte ai dirigenti del Barcellona il direttore sportivo nerazzurro ripeterà quanto riferito a Mazinho, padre ed agente di Rafinha, ovvero che l’Inter vorrebbe acquistare il trequartista brasiliano a partire dal 1º luglio. Assieme a questo il dirigente del club meneghino chiederà un’opzione alla società blaugrana, vale a dire il congelamento dei tempi per evitare che nel frattempo qualche altra squadra possa inserirsi.

Inter are likely to face restrictions over the number of players they can register for next season’s UEFA Champions League, according to Corriere dello Sport.

The Nerazzurri are waiting to hear from European football’s governing body over whether they transgressed any Financial Fair Play regulations during the 2016-17 season, with a decision due next week.

However Luciano Spalletti hinted during his post-season press conference on Thursday that Inter could suffer sporting sanctions for the 2018-19 campaign, and the expectation is that some kind of sanction will arrive.

Should UEFA conclude that the club have not respected parts of the ‘Settlement Agreement’ that they signed back in 2015, the most likely scenario is that Inter would only be able to register 21 players for next season’s Champions League, as opposed to 25.

Steven Zhang, Javier Zanetti, Alessandro Antonello and Giovanni Gardini are all in Kiev this weekend to attend this year’s final between Real Madrid and Liverpool, and it is possible that they will receive a better indication of what UEFA are likely to decide while they are there.

Should Inter’s European squad be restricted to 21 players they would be required to include four players who have come through an Italian youth academy, as well as one who has come through their own youth system.

Roma could challenge Inter for the signature of 19 year-old Ukrainian goalkeeper Andriy Lunin, according to Mediaset Premium.

Lunin, who current plays for Zorya Luhansk, has been strongly linked with a move to the Nerazzurri in recent weeks, who have identified him as the ideal heir to Samir Handanovic, but no deal has been finalised as of yet.

Other clubs therefore still have time to try and make a swoop for the player, and the Italian TV station believe Roma could step up their interest in Lunin over the coming weeks.

The Giallorossi are adamant that they do not want to sell star goalkeeper Alisson this summer, but Real Madrid continue to follow the Brazilian international with interest and are willing to offer up to €70 million to acquire his services.

Were the 25 year-old to leave the capital for Madrid then Roma could set their sights on Lunin as a replacement.

Lunin made 36 appearances for Zorya Luhansk during the 2017-18 season and was awarded his debut for the Ukrainian national team back in March, when he started their 1-1 draw against Saudi Arabia.

Lautaro Martinez’s desire to start life at Inter immediately was ultimately what prevented Racing Avellaneda from keeping him until the end of the calendar year, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

Martinez arrived in Italy on Thursday to undergo a medical ahead of a €22-million move to the Nerazzurri, which will made official at the start of July, but the Argentine club were hoping Inter would agree to loan him back for the remainder of the South American club season.

Club President Victor Blanco and director of football Diego Milito accompanied Martinez on his flight to Milan and had a two-hour meeting with sporting director Piero Ausilio, in which they sorted the final details of the deal and made one final attempt to talk Inter round.

However Martinez himself wanted to begin his adventure in Europe as soon as possible, while Inter were adamant that he needed to take part in pre-season with Luciano Spalletti so that he could settle in as quickly as possible.

Martinez will return to Argentina on Saturday but it will not be long before he returns to start life with Inter at the beginning of July.
