Italian Media Reports Inter To Speed Up Efforts In Signing Fiorentina’s Federico Chiesa After Juventus Cool Interest

Inter are keeping a close eye on Federico Chiesa’s situation at Fiorentina and are poised to take action according to a report from Italian news outlet FCInterNews.it.

Fiorentina are still yet to agree a contract extension with the highly rated 22-year-old winger and an exit is almost inevitable in the event that he does not sign a new deal with La Viola.

Inter are big admirers of the Italian national team player who perfectly fits the club’s transfer policy of being young and Italian and the report goes on to explain that Inter chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta boasts an excellent relationship with the player’s father and agent Enrico Chiesa.

Furthermore, according to the report, Juventus have slowed down their pursuit to sign Chiesa after having wrapped up Dejan Kulusevski in January. This together with the fact that Inter know Chiesa is keen on a move to Inter means that the Nerazzurri wont offer more than €35-40 million in cash plus a player as part payment.

Fiorentina currently value Chiesa at €70 million but Inter do not want to spend any more than €35-40 million plus a player. If he does not renew his contract his price is bound to drop which will come much to the delight of Inter.

FIGC Medical Commission Member Pino Capua: “If We Don’t Find A Solution, Serie A Will Not Resume”

Pino Capua, a member of the Italian football federation (FIGC) medical commission and president of the anti-doping commission has made it clear that the 2019/20 Serie A season will not resume unless a safety protocol for things to safely resume is found.

“If we don’t find a solution, Serie A will not resume,” he made clear right at the beginning of an interview with Italian broadcaster Sport Mediaset earlier on today.

Capua then went on to discuss the model that German football has adopted ahead of the Bundesliga resuming at the end of this week and hit out at the Italian government’s technical and scientific committee for their recent actions.

“The German model is entirely applicable, I don’t understand why they won’t let us follow it in Italy too. The government’s technical and scientific committee has thrown a spanner in the works.”

He then went on to call for everyone to share the same objective in the shape of getting the season to resume and shared his belief that a solution can be found.”

“The objective for everyone should be to get football going again, and I believe if we sit down at a table and discuss it reasonable, we’ll find a solution.”

Capua went on to conclude by reiterating he is convinced the issue can be resolved but admits that until there is a vaccine there will be no amateur level football played.

“I am extremely convinced that with the presence of an association that includes all the medics who work in football, we can resolve this issue. As for the amateur players, we’d have to wait for the vaccine, because there is no zero risk until that happens.”

Ionut Andrei Radu: “It Would Make Me Proud To Go Back To Inter, We’ll See What Happens”

In an interview with Romanian news outlet Digi Sport, Ionut Andrei Radu has admitted he would be open to a return to Inter at the end of the current season.

Reports in recent weeks and months have suggested that Inter could utilise Radu as Samir Handanovic’s back up starting next season whilst others have stated that Inter could use him as part of a deal to land another goalkeeper who could be back up to Handanovic.

“You will see where I will play in a few months time. It would make me proud to go back to Inter, we will see what happens. I still have a contract with them until 2024 but I can’t tell you everything now,” the youngster began the interview.

The Romanian national team shot stopper is currently out on loan at Parma but has not played at all for them and he has discussed how he has dealt with this.

“This is an obstacle that can arise in the career of a footballer but rather than break me down, it must strengthen me. The fact I have not played recently is something that actually motivates me.

“I understand that I have to give more both physically and mentally. In the future I will learn from this experience in order to not end up in this situation again.

“It is frustrating for any player not to be a starter but I am aware of my ability and this reassures me.”

He concluded the interview by revealing who his goalkeeping idol was when he was growing up.

“I can’t say that I have a certain style to my game because I try to train my own style but when I was little I liked Petr Cech.”

This season Radu has made 19 appearances across all competitions to date, all of which came during the first half of the Serie A season which he spent out on loan at Genoa.

Italian Government Scientific & Technical Committee Order Serie A Teams To Go Into Self Isolation When Group Training Resumes

Serie A teams will be required to enter into a 15 day period of self isolation upon the resumption of group training the Italian government’s Scientific and Technical Committee, who are keen to get the football season resumed, have ordered.

Athletes, including footballers, were able to resume training on a voluntary individual basis on Monday May 4 and the Italian government have given the green light for group training to resume starting from this coming Monday ahead of the season possibly resuming.

The Scientific and Technical Committee have set these conditions in order to prevent outside contact and to avoid contamination from the outside too.

Should one player go on to test positive upon the resumption of group training, the rest of the team will also be forced into a period of quarantine and it remains to be seen what this would mean for the resumption of the season if it is to resume.

Inter Coach Antonio Conte: “Chelsea’s N’Golo Kante Is One Of The Best Players I Have Coached”

Inter manager Antonio Conte has sang the praises of Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante and said that the French national team player is one of the best he has worked with during his career in management.

Conte took Kante to Stamford Bridge in the Summer of 2016 and the former Leicester City player provided absolutely pivotal in Chelsea winning the 2016/17 Premier League title.

“In my opinion, he can play in any position in midfield. We are talking about an amazing player. He is fantastic with the ball, without the ball,” former Italian national team manager Conte explained in an interview with British broadcaster Sky Sports earlier on today.

“When you have N’Golo in your team, you can think you are playing with one player more. You can find a smile on his face every day. He is a very positive guy and one of the best players I have had in my career as a manager.”

Conte also spoke on current Chelsea manager Frank Lampard and tipped the former England national team player to become one of the best managers in the world in the future.

“I think Frank is doing a really good job. This is his second experience as a manager and managing a high-level team is not easy.

“I think he has the skills to become one of the best managers in the world. He must continue to work in this way and I wish him the best for the future.”

Conte took charge of Inter this past Summer as he succeeded Luciano Spalletti on the bench at the Nerazzurri and his first season in charge of the club has largely been positive with Inter making a visible leap in quality under his stewardship.

Spanish Journalist Aguilar: “Juventus Are Seeking To Complicate Inter’s Life By Negotiating With Barcelona”

Mundo Deportivo journalist Francesc Aguilar has claimed that Juventus are actively out to spite Inter by holding talks with Barcelona ahead of the upcoming Summer transfer window.

As per Aguilar, Juventus have shown an interest in several players who have been linked with Inter in recent weeks in a bid to complicate things for their arch rivals.

Both clubs have shown an interest in Nelson Semedo as well as midfielder Arthur. Recent reports have suggested that Juventus are trying to set up swap deals for both players whilst both players have been mentioned as players Inter would be open to receiving as part of a deal for striker Lautaro Martinez.

Lautaro Martinez is seemingly Barcelona’s top transfer target ahead of the upcoming Summer transfer window but rather than pay his €111 million release clause, they reportedly want to do a player(s) plus cash deal for him instead.

“A person who knows a lot about football and the transfer market has told me something that has made me think: ‘Deep down, Juventus, with their negotiations with Barça, are seeking to complicate Inter’s life. The ‘Old Lady’ knows that Inter is working on a great project,’” Aguilar wrote on Twitter.

Italian Media Claims Barcelona Could Swap Inter Linked Nelson Semedo For Juventus’ Mattia De Sciglio

Barcelona and Juventus could conduct a swap deal involving Nelson Semedo and Mattia De Sciglio according to a report in today’s print edition of Tuttosport.

Semedo, who has also been linked with Inter as of late, is seemingly keen on making the move to the Bianconeri where he would be able to play alongside national team teammate Cristiano Ronaldo, who he shares an agent with.

The report goes on to explain that a swap deal with both Semedo and De Sciglio being valued at between €20-25 million would be mutually beneficial for the clubs, who would both make capital gains on the players.

Semedo currently has a value of €14.4 million against Barcelona’s books meaning they could potentially make a capital gain of just over €10 million.

De Sciglio on the other hand has a value of just €4.8 million against Juventus’ books meaning they could well make as much as a €20 million capital gain on him.

Noted Italian Journalist Pedulla: “Inter Haven’t Spoken To Brescia About Tonali, Lautaro Will Only Leave Inter For Barcelona”

Italian journalist and transfer market expert Alfredo Pedulla has dismissed reports in the media which have suggested that Inter have made contact with Brescia regarding Sandro Tonali and his representatives.

Inter are long term admirers of the 20-year-old central midfielder and reports in the past few days that Inter chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta has made contact but Pedulla has insisted that this is not the case.

“Juventus moved before Inter. The Bianconeri wanted to close a deal in January whilst Inter have never spoken to Cellino. They are the only clubs left, it’s up to the boy to decide his future,” he explained in an interview with Italian broadcaster Sport Italia late last night.

Pedulla proceeded to discuss Lautaro Martinez’s future with Inter amid ongoing links over a potential Summer transfer window switch to reigning La Liga champions Barcelona.

“There is only Barcelona. There has been talk of Paris Saint-Germain, but his dream is to play with Messi and he will only leave Inter for the Catalans.

“He has received a €12 million a year offer from the Blaugrana and the agreements have already been finalised. At this moment there are no contacts between Lautaro and Inter.

“The Catalans will not pay his €111 million release clause, but if it came to an offer of €80/90 million plus Vidal things would change.”

Lautaro has been in fine form this season, his first as a starter for Inter, with him having netted 16 goals and provided four assists in 31 appearances across all competitions to date, during which time he has also struck up a promising partnership with Romelu Lukaku.

Fiorentina General Manager Barone On Inter Target Chiesa: “Many Clubs Knocking On The Door For Him, Castrovilli Will Stay”

Fiorentina general manager Joe Barone has revealed that there is interest from England in Federico Chiesa but has insisted that Chiesa is concentrated on the task at hand at La Viola.

The highly rated 22-year-old Italian national team winger has also been heavily linked with moves to Inter and Juventus in recent months.

“Chiesa is a Fiorentina player. There are clubs knocking on the door for Chiesa, some of them are English,” he remarked in an interview with Milan based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, which appeared in today’s print edition.

“We will see what happens but for the moment we just need to finish the season and he is very concentrated on doing well for us.”

Barone was then quizzed on the future of midfield sensation Gaetano Castrovilli, who, like Chiesa, has also been linked with possible moves to both Inter and Juventus but Barone has poured cold water on the recent speculation in the media.

“As for Gaetano Castrovilli, he still has much to give for us and for Italian football, so he will remain in Florence.”

This season Chiesa has made 26 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored seven goals and provided five assists for his teammates. Castrovilli has meanwhile also made 26 appearances, in which he has scored three goals and tallied two assists.
