Photo – Inter Highlight Memories From 2010 Treble Winning Season

Inter have taken to photo sharing social media to recall five things fans may have forgotten about the club’s famous 2009/10 treble winning season.

The Nerazzurri became the first Italian club in football history to clinch a treble consisting of the Serie A title, Coppa Italia and Champions League that season and they remain the only Italian club to have achieved this feat to this day.

The club have recalled things concerning the likes of Maicon and Javier Zanetti.

They posted: “5 THINGS YOU MAY NOT REMEMBER FROM THE TRIPLETE

1) Once, Maicon scored two extraordinarily difficult and important goals within the space of four days: on 16 and 20 April against Juventus and then Barcelona;
2) Javier Zanetti played 55 out of the 57 games in the Treble-winning season;
3) In the 2009/10 season, Julio Cesar didn’t miss a single minute in Serie A and defended the Nerazzurri goal for 3420 minutes out of a possible 3420;
4) From Barcelona to Madrid, Samuel Eto’o first played a match full of sacrifices as he played wide left after Thiago Motta’s sending off to help the defence, then he spurred the team on at the Bernabeu with his speech before the final: “Either we die on the pitch and take home the trophy, or we die because we didn’t bring it to Milan.”
5) The relativity of space and time: first there was the never-ending six minutes plus added time of Barcelona vs Inter, then there was the Icelandic volcano, Eyjafjallajokull, that forced Barcelona to travel to Milan by coach and made Inter depart to Madrid earlier, which increased the build-up to the final to three days.”

Barcelona Not Worried By Interest From Real Madrid, PSG & Man City In Inter Striker Lautaro Martinez

Barcelona are not worried by reported interest from other clubs in top transfer target Inter striker Lautaro Martinez according to a report from the online edition of Spanish based news outlet Marca.

Barcelona have been heavily linked with a move for the 22-year-old for a number of months now and the likes of Paris Saint Germain, Real Madrid, Chelsea and Manchester City have all also been linked with him.

The Blaugrana club are however confident that Lautaro would rather play alongside Lionel Messi at the Camp Nou than play for any other club.

Lautaro is under contract with Inter until the end of the 2022/23 season and has a €111 million release clause in his current deal but Barcelona would rather do a player(s) plus cash deal for him with Arturo Vidal and Nelson Semedo both possible inclusions in a deal for the Argentine, who, as per the report, has rejected a new contract from Inter.

Gianluca Di Marzio: “Timo Werner Will Leave Leipzig, No Agreement With Liverpool Yet, Inter Have Spoken With His Agents, Watch Out For Juventus”

Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia’s transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio has confirmed on air this late afternoon, that Timo Werner is certain to leave RB Leipzig this Summer and that Inter have shown an interest in signing him.

Werner has been one of the most prolific goalscorers in recent seasons and has drawn links to a number of clubs in addition to Inter as a result.

According to the report, via Italian media outlet PassioneInter.com, Champions League holders Liverpool have been heavily linked with a move for him and some reports have also suggested that Werner is on Barcelona’s radar in case they are unable to land primary transfer target Inter striker Lautaro Martinez.

“He will leave Leipzig for sure. His agents are working to find the best solution. Inter? There has been contact with the Nerazzurri, who are thinking about him if Lautaro to Barcelona should come to fruition. Watch out for Juventus too,” Di Marzio remarked whilst speaking from home during a Sky Sport Italia broadcast.

The renowned transfer market expert then went on to discuss the links between Werner and Liverpool.

“There is no agreement. It is difficult for Werner to find accommodation in the attack of the Reds, at the moment they need nothing. There have been enquiries made but nothing has been done. ”

This season the 24-year-old has made 36 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored 27 goals and tallied 12 assists for his teammates.

Italian Media Claims Inter Could Offer Mauro Icardi To Arsenal For Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Inter could offer Mauro Icardi to Arsenal in exchange for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the upcoming Summer transfer window according to a report from Italian news outlet Tuttosport.

Icardi is currently out on loan at newly crowned French champions Paris Saint Germain who have an option to sign him permanently for €70 million.

However, if they do not sign him permanently, Inter could use the Argentine forward to acquire Aubameyang, who Inter have identified as someone who could replace Lautaro Martinez, who continues to be very strongly linked with a move to Barcelona.

Arsenal captain Aubameyang is currently valued at between €50-60 million thus a little less than Icardi so it therefore would remain to be seen whether Arsenal would offer some cash on top to make up the difference if the two clubs were to enter into negotiations.

This season Icardi has netted 20 goals in 31 appearances across all competitions whilst Aubameyang has scored the same amount in 32 appearances.
