Inter Coach Conte Could Change Formation To Better Suit Tottenham January Signing Christian Eriksen

Inter manager Antonio Conte is studying where he can deploy Christian Eriksen according to a report in today’s print edition of Tuttosport.

Eriksen arrived at the club in a circa €20 million deal from Tottenham Hotspur on a four and a half year deal in the most recent January transfer window.

Since his arrival Eriksen had physical problems to get over and Conte utilised him in several positions as he looked to find Eriksen’s best position in his system.

The report from the Turin based newspaper goes on to claim that Conte could change from his tried and tested 3-5-2 system to a 3-4-1-2 to allow Eriksen to play in his natural attacking midfield role and it is now up to the player to redeem himself after a pretty poor start to life in Nerazzurri.

Eriksen, who formerly played for Dutch giants Ajax, has made eight appearances across all competitions to date for Inter and in 348 minutes on the park, the 28-year-old has scored one goal and provided a single assist for his teammates.

Racing Avellanada President On Inter Striker Lautaro Martinez: “His Agent’s Have Told Me There’s Interest From Barcelona”

Racing Club president Victor Blanco has confirmed that Lautaro Martinez’s representatives have told him that there is interest from Barcelona.

Lautaro has been heavily linked with a move for the highly rated 22-year-old forward in recent weeks and months with reports on the topic coming almost daily both in Italian and Spanish media.

Lautaro has a €111 million release clause in his contract but reports state that Barcelona want to do a deal on a player(s) plus cash basis.

Racing Club will benefit from a transfer deal due to having a clause which means they will get a percentage of the sale.

“I spoke to his representatives and they told me that there is interest from Barcelona,” Blanco admitted in an interview with Argentine broadcaster TyC Sports.

“Whatever Lautaro decides will be good for Racing, because what we want is for the player to be happy and play where he really wants to play.”

This season Lautaro, who has a contract with Inter through to the end of the 2022/23 season, has made 31 appearances across all competitions to date.

In just over 2400 minutes on the field, the Argentine national team forward has scored 16 goals and has provided a total of four assists for his teammates.

Inter Legend Gianluca Pagliuca: “Man Utd Wanted To Sign Me But Moratti Said No”

Legendary former Inter goalkeeper Gianluca Pagliuca has revealed that a number of Premier League clubs wanted him during his time with the Nerazzurri.

Pagliuca, who is widely regarded as one of the greatest goalkeepers of his generation, joined Inter in 1994 from fellow Serie A side Sampdoria and spent five years with the club but there were opportunities for him to leave before then.

“In 1997, Manchester United asked about me. It was not me that said no but it was Massimo Moratti, who said I was not moving. In 1999 Aston Villa came in for me as did Spanish side Deportivo La Coruna who then won La Liga.

“I have no regrets about not leaving because top players came to Inter, such as Ronaldo,” he explained in an interview with Milan based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, which appeared in today’s print edition.

He was then asked about who he thinks is better between his former teammate Ronaldo and current Juventus and Portugal star Cristiano Ronaldo.

“Cristiano is a machine but Ronaldo had more quality and vision, and he was an absolute phenomenon who was undermined by injury.”

Pagliuca made a total of 234 appearances across all competitions during his half decade on the Nerazzurri club’s books in which he kept a total of 82 clean sheets.

Pagliuca left Inter in 1999 for Bologna where he spent seven years before he joined Ascoli, where he played for a single season before retiring.

Value Of Inter’s Squad Could Decrease By €150M If Serie A Season Doesn’t Resume

Transfer values across Europe’s top 10 leagues have plummeted as a result of the Coronavirus crisis and Inter are among the top 20 clubs most impacted as a result according to KPMG Football Benchmark.

KPMG Football Benchmark’s analysis of the value of the 4183 players playing in Europe’s top 10 leagues shows that transfer values could drop by as much as €8.5 billion, which representatives a 26.5% drop compared to February, if the remainder of the seasons are cancelled.

In the event that the vast majority of these top 10 leagues resume play, the impact will be negated slightly but values will still drop regardless. In the event the leagues do resume, the value depreciation would instead be €5.6 billion.

Back in February Inter’s first team squad was valued at a combined total of €653 million. Should the season not resume the team’s value will decrease to €496 million. If the Serie A season resumes, Inter’s squad value will decrease to €556 million.

The report goes on to add that Inter striker Romelu Lukaku’s value could drop from €88 million to €75 million if the season is cancelled or €80 million if it resumes.

Torres then went on to state what he would like to see happen in the event that games cannot be played at either of the club’s home stadiums.

“In case it is not possible to play at San Siro and the Coliseum Alfonso Perez, the matches should be played on a neutral pitch.”
