Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte: “We’ll Gather The Serie A Owners & Sports Minist er Spadafora Together To Take Stock Of The Situation”

Italian prime minister Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Conte has revealed he wants to give stakeholders in football and all other sports in the country the chance to confront the government.

Sports across the country have been on hold for around about two months now as a result of the ongoing global Coronavirus pandemic, the worst of which seems to have passed in Italy.

Italy has now entered into phase two of the recovery process and athletes, including footballers, are now able to make the most of training facilities again on an individual basis.

It still remains to be seen however when teams will be able to all train together and if the seasons, all of which are currently on hold, will be able to resume and then finish.

“We will gather the sports world and football, together with minister of sport Spadafora, to take stock of the situation,” he explained in an interview with Italian newspaper Fatto Quotidiano, which appeared in today’s print edition.

“We will collect the requests from the Federcalcio and other federations to get a shared picture of the recovery of sports activities.”

Conte, who has served as prime minister since June 2018, went on to add: “I still haven’t dealt with football, but we will listen and agree.

“Minister Spadafora has done an excellent job, but it’s right to let all the stakeholders of football and sport confront the government at the highest levels, obviously bearing in mind the recommendations of the technical scientific committee.”

Inter Will Wait Until End Of Season Before Deciding To Sign Chelsea’s Victor Moses Or Not

Inter will wait until the end of the season before taking a decision on whether to activate their option to buy on loan defender Victor Moses according to a report from British broadcaster Sky Sports.

Moses joined the Nerazzurri club in a six month loan deal in the most recent January transfer window with Inter obtaining an option to sign him outright from Chelsea for a sum of €12 million

The Nigerian national team player is out of contract with the Premier League side at the end of next season and the report goes on to claim that Inter are not willing to spend big on a player whose contract will be up in little over 12 months time.

Some reports elsewhere in the media have suggested that the only way that Moses will remain with Inter past the end of this season is if Chelsea and Inter can agree to a loan extension.

Inter Won’t Give Up In Pursuit Of PSG, Barcelona & Juventus Target Sandro Tonali

Inter are refusing to give up in their pursuit of Brescia midfielder Sandro Tonali and are studying a plan that will allow them to beat the competition according to a report from Italian news outlet CalcioMercato.com.

Inter face competition from Juventus, Paris Saint Germain, Barcelona and AC Milan for the teen sensation, who Brescia president and owner Massimo Cellino will not let go for cheap.

As per the report Inter do not want to spend any more than between €30-35 million on the 19-year-old central midfielder, who is widely regarded as one of the best Italian prospects out there at the moment.

Inter could well offer some players to Brescia as part of a deal for Tonali in order to bring the overall cost of the deal down a bit.

The report goes on to add that for the time being Inter chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta is prioritising player sales first before focusing on incoming transfers. The more success he has selling players the higher the chance that Tonali ends up at Inter.

Inter Could Offer Valentino Lazaro To RB Leipzig As Part Of Deal For Liverpool Target Timo Werner

Inter could insert Valentino Lazaro into a deal for RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner according to a report in today’s print edition of Tuttosport.

Inter have identified Werner as a player that they could go in for in the event that Lautaro Martinez is to depart the club in the coming months amid continued links with a move to La Liga powerhouses Barcelona.

Werner has a €60 million release clause in his current contract with the Bundesliga side, who he has played for since 2016, but Inter would like to reduce the cost of a deal for him and in order to do so they could offer Lazaro.

RB Leipzig showed an interest in signing Lazaro back in the recent January transfer window but the player opted to go out on loan to Newcastle United instead.

The Austrian national team player could however end up at RB Leipzig in the near future as part of a deal for Werner, who has also been heavily linked with a move to Champions League holders Liverpool.

Inter & PSG Linked Rakitic Will Only Agree To Leave Barcelona For Atletico Madrid Or Sevilla

Ivan Rakitic is only interested in leaving Barcelona if he can end up at either Atletico Madrid or Sevilla according to a report from Spanish media outlet Sport.

Relations have broken down between the Croatian national team midfielder and the Blaugrana club and even though this has happened the report claims that Rakitic will oppose any transfer away unless it is to either of the two above clubs.

If his wishes are unable to be granted, he will simply see out the remainder of his contract with the Catalan club which expires at the end of next season and then pick his next club as a free agent.

This news will come as a blow to several clubs who have shown an interest in signing him in recent weeks and months including Inter and Paris Saint Germain.

This season Rakitic has made 31 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has tallied four assists.

Italian Referee Designator Rizzoli: “The Recording After Pjanic Foul In Inter Vs Juventus Never Existed”

Italian referee designator Nicola Rizzoli has moved to explain why audio of an incident from a Derby D’Italia match between Inter and Juventus a few years back does not and never did exist.

In the past few days former federal prosecutor Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Pecoraro created a great deal of controversy when he revealed that there was no record of a conversation between the referee and VAR officials from an incident which saw Juventus midfielder Miralem Pjanic escape an obvious second booking after smashing Inter midfielfer Rafinha with his arm.

“It’s important to clarify here and not create further confusion,” Rizzoli began an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia.

“The protocol states that only certain conversations are recorded and those are made not by the referees, but by the Lega technical provider, who put this clip at the disposal of the AIA if they want to use it for instructional purposes.”

He went on to explain that, “Only five or six of those per game go online, which we can then download for use in teaching referees about incidents. These clips are also sent to the IFAB and are not in possession of the AIA.”

He then went on to reveal that what Pecoraro requested simply does not exist hence why it could not be provided.

“Pecoraro requested the recording of the entire match, but that simply doesn’t exist for any Serie A game. Nobody has it in their possession, it never existed and so could not have been provided.

“The only ones that were recorded, as per protocol, were around the straight red card and the penalty. A yellow card, whether it is a second or a first, is not recorded for VAR. We tried to request the recording, but it simply was never made in the first place.”

Rizzoli then went on to run through the VAR protocol again just to make things clear and confirmed that VAR could not say that it was a yellow card.

“In dubious situations, the VAR will communicate with the referee and say ‘stop play’ until they’ve checked it.

“The moment VAR then says ‘silent check complete, you can resume,’ there is nothing more to be said. In this case, he didn’t need to say whether it was a yellow card, VAR could only state it was not a straight red.

Rizzoli, who refereed between 2002 and 2017, concluded the interview by adding: “In any case, going back to that incident, the correct decision was not made by the referee. That was confirmed by the fact the referee was not designated in the following week.”

Man United Price Tag On Paul Pogba A Problem For Inter, Juventus, Real Madrid & PSG

Paul Pogba’s transfer fee is a problem for interested clubs according to a report from British broadcaster Sky Sports.

The Manchester United midfielder who was valued at £150 million (approximately €170 million) last Summer has been linked with Inter, Juventus, Real Madrid and Paris Saint Germain as of late and as per the report such a fee is problematic for all clubs.

In fact, the report states that the only way Pogba could return to Italy with Juventus is via a swap deal with the reigning Italian champions said to be willing to offer Douglas Costa, Alex Sandro and Federico Bernardeschi but it is as yet unclear whether any of those players are of interest to Manchester United, who Pogba has played for since 2016.

The French national team player has spent a long time out on the sidelines this term and the report goes on to add that he is now ready to play again.

Inter Players Won’t Be Able To Train Individually At Training Ground Until Friday

Inter players will have to wait a few more days before being able to utilise the facilities at the Suning Training Centre in memory of Angelo Moratti according to a report in today’s print edition of Corriere della Sera.

Teams in Serie A were allowed to resume training from Monday but Inter understandably wished to take extreme caution before allowing players back into the training facilities, where they will only be able to train on an individual basis.

Inter wanted all players to pass the relevant medical tests before being granted access but for the time being players can only be tested at hospitals and authorised centres in the Lombardy region and nowhere else.

The report goes on to explain that all the tests of Inter players should be completed by today or tomorrow and they will then be able to use the facilities at the training ground starting on Friday.

Italian Media Report Salary Cut Talks Between Inter & Players Postponed Until After Decision Made On Serie A Season Resuming Or Not

Talks between Inter and the players regarding a salary cut have been postponed according to a report in today’s print edition of Tuttosport.

Salary cuts have been a hot topic since the 2019/20 Serie A season was brought to a halt close to two months ago as a result of the ongoing global Coronavirus pandemic and whilst the likes of Juventus, Roma, Parma and Cagliari have reached an agreement with their players, the majority of Serie A clubs, including Inter, are yet to do so.

The reason for the talks stalling between Inter and their players is because of there being far too many variables out there which could change things such as the return to training and the resumption of the season. Once there is clarity on whether or not the season will resume and if so when, then talks between the club and the players will resume regarding reducing salary.

According to the report, Inter captain Samir Handanovic has on behalf of the Inter players already informed the club that they are open to reducing their wages and to hold these talks when the club wants to.

The report from the Turin based newspaper goes on to add Inter have told the players that talks will resume again when there is more clarity on what will happen.
