Hernan Crespo: “I’d Love For Lautaro Martinez To Stay At Inter For A Thousand Reasons”

Legendary former Inter striker Hernan Crespo has shared his desire to see Lautaro Martinez remain with Inter for a few more years yet.

Lautaro has been continuously linked with a Summer transfer window switch to La Liga giants Barcelona who have seemingly identified him as one of, if not their top target.

The highly rated 22-year-old joined Inter in the Summer of 2018 from Superliga Argentina side Racing Club and has a contract with Inter until 2023, which contains a €111 million release clause in it.

Barcelona however are intent on doing a player(s) plus cash deal for the Argentine national team player, who has also drawn links to the likes of Manchester City, Real Madrid and Paris Saint Germain.

“I would love for Lautaro to stay for a thousand reasons. He’s in a big team and doing two or three years like this is good,” he told Goal.com.

“You have to live with that pressure of having to play at that level all the time. You need a balance that you can get if you stay in the same place.

“It seems to me that it would do him good to stay in that sense. He is young and has had many changes.”

This season Lautaro, who has formed a fierce strike partnership with Romelu Lukaku, has made 31 appearances across all competitions to date. He has scored 16 goals and provided a total of four assists to his teammates.

Lazio’s €100M Rated Milinkovic-Savic Tops Inter’s List Of Signings For The Midfield

Inter’s management are big fans of Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and the Serbian tops Inter’s list of midfield signings ahead of next season according to a report in today’s print edition of Il Giorno.

Whilst Inter have drawn links to several other central midfielders such as Brescia’s Sandro Tonali and Manchester United’s Paul Pogba, Milinkovic-Savic is the one that the Nerazzurri hierarchy cannot stop thinking about ahead of the upcoming Summer transfer window, according to the report.

Inter have liked the Spanish born Serbian international for a few years now and with thanks to Inter’s owners Suning, the dream of signing him could turn into a reality.

Milinkovic-Savic will however come far from cheap though with Lazio president and owner Claudio Lotito said to be adamant that he will not accept anything less than €100 million for his prised possession.

The report from Il Giorno goes on to state that Inter making any sort of move for Milinkovic-Savic depends on the sales of Mauro Icardi, Ivan Perisic, Radja Nainggolan and Joao Mario.

Legendary Inter President Massimo Moratti: “If Signing Barcelona’s Lionel Messi Is Impossible I’d Like Juventus’ Paulo Dybala”

In an interview with Milan based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, former Inter president and owner Massimo Moratti has reflected on Inter’s Coppa Italia win over Roma which occurred 10 years ago and was the first trophy Inter picked up during that famous treble winning campaign.

“Nothing is exorcised in football, that May 5th remains. Even if Milito then made it less bitter. However, due to superstition, I did not go to that match,” he explained in the interview which appeared in today’s print edition.

“That win laid the foundations for the rest. That was the toughest match of the three, we suffered in proper Inter style. Roma were our rivals during those years and were keen to outdo us.”

He then went on to discuss how the games that saw Inter clinch the Serie A title and Champions League were different to the above game.

“The match against Siena was another battle but different. They were not as strong as Roma but played with a fierce determination.

“There was also a real party in the dressing room after it. The Scudetto prepared us best for the Champions League.

“The match against Bayern Munich was paradoxically the least difficult. We had suffered enough in Barcelona. Emotionally, we won the Champions League at Camp Nou. The most dramatic game of my life.

“We played almost the entire match with 10 men after the unfair sending off of Thiago Motta. There we understood that fate was on our side and that we could overcome any obstacle.”

Moratti proceeded to share his belief that former Inter midfielder Esteban Cambiasso will one day manage the club.

“I still cannot understand how Real Madrid let someone like him go. He arrived under Mancini and started well and with the help of the staff he got even better. Sooner or later he will manage Inter.”

He then recalled being mocked for signing legendary Inter defender Maicon from French side AS Monaco.

“At the time, some made fun of me for that expense. Meanwhile, the greatest right-back in Inter history arrived.”

He was then asked what he thought about after each win on the road to winning the Champions League and recalled how he celebrated when the final whistle went in Madrid which crowned Inter Champions League winners.

“I thought of Giacinto Facchetti after each victory. ‘After so much suffering together, you should be here to enjoy it too’ I said to myself.

“I was emptied, having hit the target I had always been after. I thought ‘now what can go wrong? Ah yes, Mou leaving us…’.

“I decided not to return to Milan with the team because there was no Mou and I didn’t want to be the centre of attention. I let my son bring the trophy to San Siro, who, like the rest of the family, had been close to me on that path.”

He was then asked whether Mourinho and current Inter manager Antonio Conte are similar to one another.

“I do not know Conte well enough to judge but they are to people who are obsessed with football and have the desire to give everything.”

He was also asked what he would like to see Inter do in the event that Lautaro Martinez is to depart the club in the coming months amid continued links to Barcelona.

“If Messi arrives, great but if Leo is impossible, I’d like Dybala instead of Il Toro.”

He concluded by hitting out as Juventus president Andrea Agnelli who recently liked tweets suggesting Juventus were not like Inter and would not accept titles given to them.

“There’s a very slight difference. Back then, it was cheating. Now, it’s a virus that has paralysed the planet.”

Fiorentina President Commisso On Inter & Juventus Target Chiesa: “I Don’t Know If He Still Wants To Leave”

Fiorentina president and owner Rocco Commisso has admitted that the club could lose star man Federico Chiesa but is unsure what the player’s intentions are.

The highly rated 22-year-old winger has been heavily linked with a move away from La Viola for some time now with both Inter and Juventus long term admirers of him.

“There’s been a huge devaluation in my player pool, they say that my players who were worth €300 million 3 months ago, aren’t worth €300 million today. The same applies to everyone else. Everyone is looking at their balance sheet.

“From a Fiorentina perspective, we may lose a player like Chiesa. I still don’t know if he still wants to leave or whether we’re gonna get the right price for him. It’s to early to say what will happen,” he remarked as he appeared on the Viola Nation Podcast.

Commisso’s comments in the podcast largely echo what he has already said in recent weeks in previous interview with the media with regard to Chiesa’s future with the club.

Some reports in the media have suggested that Fiorentina are keen to sign him to a new and improved contract in a bid to deter the interest in his services and could include a €100 million release clause in it.

The Italian national team player has made 26 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored seven goals and provided five assists.

From Mauro Icardi To Lautaro Martinez – Italian Media Lists 15 Players That Could Leave Inter This Summer

No less than 15 players could leave Inter during the upcoming Summer transfer window according to a report in today’s print edition of Tuttosport.

Lautaro Martinez continues to be heavily linked with a move to Spanish giants Barcelona and midfielders Matias Vecino and Roberto Gagliardini are both facing uncertain futures and could be used in deals to sign Torino’s Armando Izzo or Fiorentina’s Federico Chiesa.

There are a whole host of players currently out on loan elsewhere and they could all leave the club permanently.

Dalbert and Radja Nainggolan are on dry loans with Fiorentina and Cagliari whilst Mauro Icardi, Ivan Perisic, Valentino Lazaro and Joao Mario are all out on loan with options to buy at Paris Saint Germain, Bayern Munich, Newcastle United and Lokomotiv Moscow respectively.

The report from the Turin based newspaper goes on to add that a number of young players could also be on their way out of the club.

Inter could use Eddie Salcedo and Federico Dimarco in a deal for Hellas Verona’s Marash Kumbulla. Michele Di Gregorio has had interest shown in his services from Serie A clubs and Andrea Pinamonti, Zinho Vanheusden and Facundo Colidio could all also depart.

Italian Media Details Why It’s Now Or Never For Inter & Juventus To Sign Man Utd’s Paul Pogba

It is now or never for Inter and Juventus to sign Manchester United and France national team midfielder Paul Pogba according to a report in today’s print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport.

As a result of the ongoing global Coronavirus pandemic, Pogba’s price has plummeted, like every other player on the planet’s price has.

Previously valued at €90 million, Pogba’s value could drop as low as €63 million if the 2019/20 season does not resume or if the season resumes behind closed doors he would be valued at €70 million.

The fact his contract with the Premier League outfit is due to expire at the end of the next season and that he has barely played this season are also contributing factors in his value dropping.

Inter and Juventus alongside Real Madrid and Paris Saint Germain have all been linked with potential moves for him.

The report from the Milan based newspaper goes on to claim that his price never be so low again which is why it is now or never for Inter and Juventus. If he were to prolong his stay at Manchester United his value would only rise.

Inter To Sacrifice €25M Everton Target Matias Vecino This Summer To Improve Midfield

Matias Vecino is more than likely going to be moved on by Inter in the upcoming Summer transfer window according to a report in today’s print edition of Tuttosport.

Inter are targeting midfield reinforcements and Vecino looks set to become a victim of Inter’s desire to improve the team.

The Nerazzurri team value the Uruguayan national team midfielder in the region of €20-25 million and given he only earns €2.5 million a year it should not be too hard to offload him.

Everton showed a keen interest in signing him back in the recent January transfer window and it remains to be seen if the Toffees will come back in for the former Fiorentina player.

The report from the Turin based newspaper goes on to explain that Inter could well use Vecino as a trade chip in a deal with another club.

This season the 28-year-old has made 23 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored three goals and provided a single assist.

Victor Moses Will Only Stay With Inter If Loan Extension Can Be Agreed With Chelsea

The only way that Victor Moses will stay with Inter past the end of this season is if an agreement can be reached between Inter and Chelsea over a loan extension according to a report from Italian news outlet CalcioMercato.com.

The Nigerian national team defender joined the Nerazzurri club on a six month loan deal in the most recent January transfer window and as part of the deal Inter obtained an option to buy him outright for €12 million.

Inter management have evaluated the player’s future with the club and have no plans of signing him up outright but the report claims it is not necessarily the end for the former Wigan Athletic player with the club.

If Inter and Chelsea can agree to a one year loan extension then Moses could well remain with the club but a report elsewhere in the media has suggested that in order for another loan to happen Moses would have to sign a new deal with Chelsea.
