Riccardo Ferri: “Selling Lautaro Martinez To Barcelona To Sign Paul Pogba From Man Utd Wouldn’t Improve Inter’s Squad”

Legendary Inter defender Riccardo Ferri has shared his belief that Inter would not be improving the squad by bringing in Paul Pogba if Lautaro Martinez is to depart in the coming months.

Inter have been linked with a move for Manchester United man Pogba ahead of the upcoming Summer transfer window whilst Lautaro has been strongly linked with an exit from Inter with La Liga giants Barcelona extremely keen on signing him.

Lautaro has a €111 million release clause in his contract, which, if met would give Inter half the money required to sign Pogba with a report earlier on today suggesting the World Cup winning Frenchman would cost a total of €220 million.

“Selling Lautaro to get to Pogba would not lead to an improvement to the squad and that is with all due respect to Pogba who is a great player,” Ferri began an interview with Milan based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, which appeared in today’s print edition.

“Pogba does not win matches nor titles on his own, that is what Barcelona’s Lionel Messi does.

“I think Inter are working very well. The club is healthy, wants to return to winning ways and knows what the best strategy is to continue growing and close the gap with Juve.

“I think the the goal is to enlarge the squad, make it even more complete and full of quality, but I don’t think Conte is looking to a single player to help make that leap.”

This season Pogba has made just eight appearances due to injury, in which he has tallied two assists. Lautaro on the other hand has made 31 appearances and scored 16 goals and tallied four assists.

Inter To Re-Open Training Ground Tomorrow To Allow Players To Train Individually

Inter’s Suning Training Centre in memory of Angelo Moratti is scheduled to re-open starting tomorrow according to a report in today’s print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport.

As of today players are now able to train on an individual basis and make the most of their club’s facilities after almost two months stuck almost entirely inside due to the ongoing global Coronavirus pandemic, the worst of which seems to have now passed in Italy.

Players are allowed to train in small groups of three to five whilst observing the social distancing rules that remain in place and they will be accompanied by staff, which have been stripped back to the bare necessities.

The Suning Training Centre in memory of Angelo Moratti will be sanitised each and every day to keep the risk of the virus spreading as low as possible.

The report goes on to conclude that all of Inter’s players will be available to train tomorrow, including Alexis Sanchez, whose obligatory quarantine period comes to an end tomorrow.

Diego Milito: “Lautaro Martinez Signing For Inter Isn’t Thanks To Me, Barcelona Would Be An Excell ent Opportunity”

Legendary Inter striker Diego Milito has downplayed the idea that it is thanks to him that Lautaro Martinez is at Inter.

The current Racing Club sporting director has instead insisted that it is down to Lautaro himself that he is currently on the books of the Nerazzurri, who he has a contract with until the end of the 2022/23 season.

“Lautaro is not at Inter thanks to me, but because he is a great player,” Inter treble winning hero Milito remarked in an interview with Argentine news outlet Movistar.

In recent weeks and months Lautaro has been heavily linked with a move to Spanish giants Barcelona and Milito proceeded to discuss the links.

“I think he is fine at Inter but playing at Barcelona, with Messi, would be an excellent opportunity for him. He is a very complete player who is doing brilliant things at Inter. The truth is that I don’t know what will happen, I have heard that there are many rumours.”

Since joining Inter in a circa €20 million deal, the Argentine national team forward has went on to make a total of 66 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored 25 goals and tallied five assists.

31 of those appearances have come this season, his first as a regular starter, as have 16 of the goals and four of the assists.

Nerazzurri Legend Beppe Bergomi: “Inter Should Sign Man Utd’s Paul Pogba Immediately”

Legendary Inter defender Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Bergomi has urged Inter management to sign Manchester United and France national team midfielder Paul Pogba immediately.

In the past few weeks the World Cup winning Frenchman has been linked with Inter, Juventus, Real Madrid and Paris Saint Germain.

A report in the media has today suggested that Pogba will come far from cheap and could cost interested clubs in the region of €220 million to sign when the transfer fee and the wages he will be paid are combined.

The 27-year-old has been heavily linked with an exit from Manchester United for some time and may finally leave in the coming months.

“If you have the money to sign him, you have to do it immediately,” Bergomi explained in an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport, an interview which appeared in today’s print edition.

“It is true that in the last few seasons he has not been up to par, but he would return to a football he knows, he would have no problems with acclimatisation and could immediately make his mark.

“Beyond the technical qualities, with the physique he has, in Serie A he would still be dominant and there are few players around like him.

“Conte can bring out the best in him as he did in the past. It would be a big signing for Inter to try and win immediately.”

Bergomi, who spent his entire career on Inter’s books, then went on to state two players he thinks the club should look to sign if they are taking a more long term approach with their recruitment strategy.

“If, on the other hand, Inter are aiming to build something in the long run, I am left with the idea that players like Tonali or Locatelli would be perfect investments.”

Inter Slap €25M Price Tag On Roberto Gagliardini Amid Interest From Fiorentina & Torino

Inter have slapped a price tag of €25 million on the head of midfielder Roberto Gagliardini amid interest in his services from elsewhere according to a report in today’s print edition of Tuttosport.

The Italian midfielder has been linked with moves to fellow Serie A sides Torino and Fiorentina ahead of the upcoming Summer transfer window.

Inter and Torino could well do a swap deal involving Gagliardini and central defender Armando Izzo, who Inter manager Antonio Conte is reportedly a big fan of.

Inter may also use Gagliardini as part of a bid for Federico Chiesa or Gaetano Castrovilli, two Fiorentina players that they have been strongly linked with for a number of months now.

The report goes on to add that should Inter get €25 million for former Atalanta midfielder Gagliardini, just less than half of that fee will represent a capital gain for the club given he has a value against the club’s books of €13 million.

Inter Captain Samir Handanovic Set To Sign Contract Extension

Inter club captain and number one goalkeeper Samir Handanovic is set to sign a contract extension with the club according to a report in today’s print edition of Corriere dello Sport.

Handanovic’s current contract with the clubs runs until the end of next season but the contract extension will allow him to possibly become the goalkeeper with the most Serie A appearances for Inter.

The Slovenian shot-stopper is currently sitting at 279 Serie A appearances for the club whilst the legendary Walter Zenga made 328 league appearances for the club.

The report from the Rome based newspaper goes on to add that Inter are continuing to look for a goalkeeper capable of playing as back-up to Handanovic.

Inter have been strongly linked with a move for Udinese’s Juan Musso, who could cost in the region of €20 million but they may opt to stick with Ionut Andrei Radu, who is already on the club’s books.

Inter & Juventus Target Paul Pogba Will Only Be Able To Leave Man Utd If He Accepts Wage Cut

Manchester United and France national team midfielder Paul Pogba will have to reduce his wage demands if he wishes to leave the club for pastures new this coming Summer according to a report in today’s print edition of Tuttosport.

The World Cup winner currently earns €17 million a season at the Premier League club and has drawn links to Inter, Juventus and Real Madrid in recent weeks.

The report from the Turin based newspaper explains that Inter and Juventus could be considered to be at an advantage when it comes to paying his salary given the Italian tax laws relating to foreign workers.

Pogba has long been linked with a move away from Old Trafford and may finally get his move away this Summer with other reports stating that Paris Saint Germain are also interested in signing him.

The 27-year-old has made just eight appearances across all competitions to date this term as a result of injury and during his time on the park he has tallied two assists.
