Diego Godin To Try & Change Conte’s Mind About Him As Inter Future Hanging By A Thread

Diego Godin will attempt to change Inter manager Antonio Conte’s mind about him if the 2019/20 Serie A season is to resume according to a report from Italian news outlet TuttoMercatoWeb.

The experienced Uruguayan national team defender has struggled in his first season with the club following his arrival on a free transfer this past Summer after the expiration of his contract with Atletico Madrid.

Several reports in recent weeks and months have suggested that Godin could depart Inter just one year into a three year deal and many other reports state that Inter are looking for defensive reinforcements in the upcoming Summer transfer window which certainly does not bode well for Godin, who lost his place in the side to Alessandro Bastoni before football was brought to a halt.

Inter’s top two targets for the heart of the defence as per reports in the media are Hellas Verona youngster Marash Kumbulla and Tottenham Hotspur and Belgium national team player Jan Vertonghen.

Gaby Mudingayi: “I Was Unlucky At Inter, Things Would’ve Went Differently If It Weren’t For Injury”

Former Inter midfielder Gaby Mudingayi has insisted he was unlucky with how things panned out for him at the club and is convinced things would have been different had he not gotten injured.

The former Belgian national team midfielder initially joined Inter on loan in 2012 and was then bought outright at the end of that season but he was bought out of his contract after just one season.

During his time with the club he managed to make just 17 appearances across all competitions due to a series of injury problems, including a serious Achilles tendon injury.

“I was unlucky. They really wanted me there, I arrived and signed a three year contract. I got an Achilles tendon injury and was out on the sidelines and big clubs are not waiting for you,” he explained in an interview with Italian news outlet 1000cuorirossoblu.it.

“I tried to recover immediately, but everything was now compromised. The experience at Inter helped me to understand that a job done well always pays off. I was committed and the team believed in me.”

He was then asked if he had any regrets over how things went for him at the Nerazzurri.

“Would things have went differently if it were not for injury? In my opinion, yes. We finished second in my first year with the club and we were also the first team to win at Juventus’ new stadium but then things changed, many players got injured and there were many other problems that were decisive.”

He concluded the interview by speaking on some of the players he got to share a dressing room with during his time at Inter and whether he is happy with the career he had.

“At Inter I practically played with the whole treble winning Inter time. I am happy with the career I have had and with whom I have crossed paths.”

Inter Defender D’Ambrosio: “Health Is The Most Important Thing, It Comes Before Every Sporting Event & Everything”

Inter full back Danilo D’Ambrosio has stressed that health must come first before the 2019/20 football season is resumed.

The season has been on hold for almost two months now as a result of the ongoing global Coronavirus pandemic and whilst all 20 Serie A clubs have voted in favour of the campaign resuming if the government allow it, it is as yet unclear when the season may resume, if at all.

“Health is the most important thing, it comes before every sporting event and everything. Even if we were to resume playing, we would still have to play with the stadiums closed,” he explained in an Instagram Live chat with Italian television presenter Enzo Miccio earlier on tonight.

The 31-year-old joined Inter back in the midst of the 2013/14 season and has a contract with the club until the end of next season although recent reports have suggested that Inter are keen to tie him down to a new deal.

The Italian national team player, who is also capable of playing at centre back, has made 18 appearances across all competitions to date this term, in which he has scored a single goal.

Spanish Report Claims Athletic Club Goalkeeper Unai Simon Is On Inter’s Radar

Athletic Club goalkeeper Unai Simon is the latest goalkeeper Inter have taken a look at as they look to find a back up goalkeeper to current number one Samir Handanovic according to a report from Spanish news outlet fichajes.net.

With Handanovic getting on a bit, the Nerazzurri are looking for someone who can initially deputise him and learn from him before succeeding him in the future.

Simon is one of a number of goalkeepers Inter have looked at with Udinese’s Juan Musso and Parma’s Luigi Sepe among a number of others all also seemingly having been looked at.

22-year-old Simon is a product of Athletic Club’s academy and has a contract with the Basque based side until the end of the 2022/23 season.

This season he has made 27 appearances across all competitions to date in what has been his first season as their regular starter. He has kept a total of 12 clean sheets in the process.

Daniele Adani: “If Lautaro Martinez Leaves Inter They Should Sign Santos’ Kaio Jorge”

Former Inter defender Daniele ‘Lele’ Adani has advised Inter to forget about signing a big name replacement for Lautaro Martinez and go for Santos starlet Kaio Jorge instead.

Lautaro continues to be linked with a move away from Inter ahead of the Summer transfer window with Barcelona the club he has been linked with most.

The 22-year-old has a €111 million release clause in his current contract, more than enough money for Inter to bring in a suitable replacement but Adani things Inter should look to bring in 18-year-old sensation Kaio Jorge instead.

“Should Lautaro leave, I would not sign a big name in his place and would instead sign a young talent. I would sign Kaio Jorge. He plays for Santos, he is very good and he will become a top player,” Adani explained in an Instagram live chat with ex-Inter striker Christian Vieri.

Kaio Jorge is a product of Santos’ famed academy which has most notably produced the likes of Pele and Neymar and has a contract with them until December 31 2021.

The Brazilian youth national team player has began to make a name for himself in the first team and he has also recently been linked with a €14.5 million move to Inter’s arch rivals Juventus.
