Inter Could Reignite Interest In Chelsea’s Olivier Giroud But Only In Certain Conditions

Inter could still look to sign French forward Olivier Giroud after his contract expires with Chelsea at the end of next season, should certain conditions be met, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

The report details how the 33-year-old Frenchman, who won the World Cup in 2018, will remain with the Blues next season, after the club decided to exercise the option to renew his contract for another season. Giroud has a great relationship with Inter coach Antonio Conte and if the former Juventus and Italy coach still wants to bring the player to Milan next summer then a deal could happen.

However, Giroud may have to drop his salary request by almost half, the report continues. He initially wanted €8 million net per season before dropping that request to €6 million net per season to help facilitate a deal, but now could be forced to drop down to €3 million net.
