Italian Journalist Mario Sconcerti On Inter Coach Antonio Conte: “Has He Not Considered He Could Be The Problem?”

Italian football journalist Mario Sconcerti has criticised Inter manager Antonio Conte and implied he has been just as much of a problem in Inter’s rocky form as the team has this year, despite his various attempts to deflect the blame from himself.

Sconcerti’s criticism comes the day after Inter threw away their most recent match against Bologna. Inter were leading 1-0 and were comfortably in control but were once again made to pay for missed chances with Bologna scoring a quickfire double near the end of the match to secure themselves three points.

“I don’t like Conte’s exaggerations. He says he studied things and says them as if he were reading the holy scriptures. He says, attack me, leave the team alone.

“Aside from that we would love to choose our enemies on our own, rest assured we will attack him,” Sconcerti explained in an interview with Italian news outlet CalcioMercato.com.

“We think he has many responsibilities in the fate of this team. Which has little quality, little play and many orders to be executed. It is difficult to play great football when you have to obey the will of others.

“He says again: if someone is not god enough for Inter it will be necessary to think about it but he was eliminated in the first round of the Champions League, in the second round of the Italian Cup, he lost twice against Juventus in the league where he has Atalanta attached to his ankles, and has not yet begun to think he could be a problem?

“Finally he says: I would like my players to suffer 1% of what I suffer and this is the universal image of Conte’s soul. I am suffering of all of you, I am the infinite diversity.

“By contrast, you can find players at Inter who would like Conte to understand at least 5% of what they understand. Could it get worse?”

Conte took charge of Inter this past Summer and replaced Luciano Spalletti at the helm of the Nerazzurri club. Former Italian national team manager Conte has since managed Inter in 41 competitive fixtures to date. He has won 24 of these games, drawn nine and lost the remaining eight matches.

What We Learned From Inter This Week – Mister Conte Please Be Proactive, Not Reactive

Inter followed up a successful week following the restart with an infinitely more frustrating seven days.

A comeback win in Parma and a rather impressive 6-0 demolition of struggling Brescia allowed Inter to flex their muscles and show that they were title dark horses heading into the last dozen games.

However, fast forward to Sunday evening and Inter undid a portion of their good work with a lacklustre 2-1 defeat at the hands of ten-man Bologna.

Contrasting results have brought about contrasting reactions from Inter fans. Here is what we can all agree on in terms of what Antonio Conte’s side has taught us this week..

Achraf Hakimi Done

Inter have officially completed the signing of Moroccan defender/wing-back Achraf Hakimi from Real Madrid.

Hakimi has established himself as one of the best full backs in word football over the past two seasons where he has been plying his trade with Borussia Dortmund.

The deal demonstrates the pull of Inter under Suning and the club’s ambition to return to Europe’s top table.

Credit to Beppe Marotta and Piero Ausillo for getting such a massive deal done. Next stop David Alaba? We can dream..

Victor Moses May Be Worth Retaining

After an excellent cameo in the 2-1 comeback win in Parma last weekend, Victor Moses got a start at home to Brescia and certainly impressed.

Inter missed his industry against Bologna as he sat out with a knock.

His crossing ability and forward thinking play over the two aforementioned fixtures has left Antonio Conte with much thought going into the latter stage of this season.

Initially, bar an assist in the derby for Lukaku, Moses seemed a potential dud and short term at best but he has now until the end of the season to prove the past week hasn’t just been a flash in the pan. His buyout price is set at €12million but Chelsea may lower it.

Alexis Sanchez Deserves To Start Alongside Romelu Lukaku.

Alexis Sanchez has had a similar spell to Moses.

An initial impact, months of treading water and now a burst over the past week.

Sanchez upped the tempo massively as a sub at the Tardini and then followed it up with a goal and an assist against Brescia.

The faltering form of Barcelona ridden Lautaro Martinez should spell a chance in the starting XI for the Chilean.

His link up with fellow United alumni Ashley Young and Romelu Lukaku could be fruitful and could help Sanchez earn a deal here next term.

A mammoth wage at Old Trafford isn’t affordable or reasonable for the Nerazzuri but there may be a way round that. Alexis needs a chance to show his recent form isn’t just a flash in the pan.

Marcelo Brozovic’s Return Is Much Welcomed But Barella Needs To Play For Inter To Play

Although he got little personal reward in Reggio Emilia, Nicolo Barella was vital in helping Inter return with all three points for one simple reason; his tenacity.

His forward thinking and battling nature dragged Inter through and although it was good to have Marcelo Brozovic back dictating the play against Bologna, it was clear Barella was missed.

A return date for Barella is unknown but it can be said with confidence that Inter are much weaker without his box to box presence and Gagliardini is a down grade.

Mister Conte – Be Proactive Not Reactive

Antonio Conte is a brilliant manager. A manager with a CV to back up that statement but he isn’t exempt from criticism after a poor performance.

The defeat against a ten man Bologna side isn’t good enough, especially when it could’ve been avoided.

Sinisa Mihajlovic’s side are no mugs but when they are away from home and down to ten men against a side challenging for the Scudetto, they shouldn’t be walking away with three points.

It seemed obvious that in the second half Inter were struggling to hold their lead and faltering.

The score line started to turn against them and the lack of productive substitutes was baffling.

Alessandro Bastoni’s poor dismissal tied the side’s hands but still it came across that Conte wasn’t brave enough.

Next year he may have more rounded options should players come and go but braver and quicker substitutes that react to the game would benefit Inter massively.

If Inter are to progress to the top two next term, they need more steel and guts to see out games like this and that falls to some extent at the feet of the manager.

Pirelli CEO Tronchetti Provera On Inter Coach Antonio Conte: “He’ll Be Able To Find A Solution”

Marco Tronchetti Provera, the chief executive of Inter’s main shirt sponsor Pirelli, has shared his belief that Inter manager Antonio Conte will be able to steer the team through the rocky patch they are going for.

Since the season resumed, Inter’s form has been up and down. The Nerazzurri have performed well in some matches but have had huge and very costly drop offs, including a drop off in the most recent match which was a 2-1 loss to Bologna.

“Antonio Conte has great experience and will be able to find a solution. He has already done a lot in the first part of the season, now it is a difficult time but Inter will come out of it,” he began an interview with Italian radio station Rai Gr Parlamento show ‘La Politca Nel Pallone’ yesterday afternoon.

“We have to suffer a little more, but remain united. It is very difficult to give an explanation of something inexplicable.”

Next he spoke on some players who have performed well and not so well since the season resumed, namely Christian Eriksen and Lautaro Martinez.

“There have been moments where the football played has been of the highest quality. We have seen an excellent Christian Eriksen in the past few weeks, then we also saw champions like Lautaro Martinez failing to score and others failing to kill off matches. I think Conte is also wondering what’s going on.”

He then spoke briefly on the Serie A title race, which looks set to be won once again by Inter’s arch rivals Juventus.

“How much will the ninth scudetto of Juventus mean? As much as the other eight.”

Tronchetti Provera then discussed some of the limitations of the current Inter side.

“Finding the right balance is not easy and in football not everything happens according to logic. The team as a whole do not have that necessary mental and physical ability, you can also see naivety on the part of defenders who have played well together over the past few years.

“I think it is a psychological issue. It is surprising that the defence do not perform like they should have given the qualities they have.

“In football the moral component it is fundamental. Leadership on the pitch is important for overcoming moments of transition. Inter still does not have the strength that big players have.”

In conclusion, Tronchetti Provera was asked about whether Pirelli would step in and help Inter to pursue Barcelona’s Lionel Messi, who has often been linked to Inter throughout the years.

“If Suning asked us to help the club? Honestly at a time like this we are unable to invest in sport more than we are currently, between Formula 1, America’s Cup in yachting and Inter. We must ask Steven Zhang to make an effort himself, then we can help but not do meaningful things.”

Photo – Italian Journalist Fabrizio Biasin: “Inter Need To Fix Electrical System Before Buying Shiny New Light Bulbs”

Italian football journalist Fabrizio Biasin has taken to social media platform Twitter to share his views on what Inter need to do if they wish to improve.

Biasin’s suggestion comes in wake of Inter’s latest disappointing defeat which came at home to Bologna over the weekend.

Inter went 1-0 up and were comfortably in control but failed to kill the game off and were made to pay with Bologna scoring a quickfire double in the last 15 minutes of the match.

He posted: “Before buying new and shiny light bulbs you have to fix the electrical system, otherwise they will continue to trip. Marotta understood this and brought in the number one electrician for Inter. Conte, fix the system and you will get all the bulbs you want.”
