Inter Working Extending Marcelo Brozovic’s Contract Amid Interest From Liverpool

Liverpool have been in contact with the agent of Marcelo Brozovic with regard to a potential transfer according to a report in today’s print edition of Milan based newspaper Libero.

In light of this news, Inter are working on trying to sign the Croatian midfield maestro to a new and improved contract and the €60 million release clause in his current contract will be removed as part of any new deal, the report claims.

The 27-year-old joined the club on an initial 18 month loan back in January 2015 and was signed outright by the club at the end of the loan in the Summer of 2016.

In the past two or so seasons Brozovic has turned into an absolutely integral part of the way the team play and he is now widely regarded as one of the best midfielders in Serie A and in Europe.

This season he has made 32 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored three goals and provided five assists.

Inter Could Sell Midfielder Matias Vecino Amidst Interest From Tottenham & Man Utd Among Others

Inter could sell Matias Vecino this Summer and make a nice capital gain on him according to a report from Italian news outlet CalcioMercato.com.

The Nerazzurri signed the Uruguayan midfielder for €25 million from Fiorentina back in the Summer of 2017 and due to amortisation, he will have a value of €9.4 million against the clubs books after June 30.

If Inter are to sell him for €25 million, they will make a capital gain of €15.6 million and they could make an even bigger capital gain if they sell him for more than €25 million.

Inter had considered selling him in the most recent January transfer window but in the end the 28-year-old ended up staying put.

Tottenham Hotspur, AC Milan, Lazio and Manchester United all showed an interest in him then and this Summer he could leave the club.

This season he has made 23 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored three goals and tallied one assist.

Torino Enquire About Inter Trio Pinamonti, Dimarco & Radu

Torino have made an enquiry to Inter regarding the availability of three young players according to a report in today’s print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport.

The report explains that the Granata have enquired about Andrea Pinamonti, Federico Dimarco and Ionut Andrei Radu.

Pinamonti is currently owned by Genoa although there is an agreement in place for Inter to bring him back to the club in the Summer. Dimarco is currently out on loan at Hellas Verona whilst Radu is out on loan at Parma.

Pinamonti is seemingly top of Torino’s transfer wish list alongside Sassuolo’s Gianluca Scamacca whilst Dimarco is one of two left backs on their radar with the other being Sassuolo’s Alessandro Triapldelli.

As for Romanian international Radu, he is their number one target when it comes to goalkeeper with Torino believing that he is capable of taking over from current number one goalkeeper Salvatore Sirigu right away.

Ex-Inter Striker Ronaldo Opens Up On Inter Injury Hell: “It Wasn’t Know If I Would Return”

Former Inter striker Ronaldo has spoken on the injury hell he went through during his career and recalled the first serious injury that he sustained whilst on Inter’s books.

The Brazilian is widely regarded as one of the greatest players of all time and there will seemingly always be questions asked about what he could have done if he did not sustain several serious knee injuries which ultimately hampered him for large spells of his career.

“In my first season at Inter I started to suffer from chronic tendonitis. I went under the knife and when I came back, I got injured,” he remarked in an interview with Forbes Brasil.

“I was in despair and my head was all over the place, I thought my future was at risk. I was very young and I struggled to return and then I suffered that unprecedented injury in the world of football and it was not know if I would return.

“After eight months out I went to one of the best specialists in Orlando who told me that I would have to go under the knife again to have any hope of having a normal life and that I could no longer play at the top level.

“When I returned to training, muscle problems appeared but despite this I had confidence in the doctor and in my knee. I had a lot strength but I did not know the strength I had inside me to recover. I spent two months in the same position but at no time did I think of giving up. I had to continue fighting for my dream.”

The now 43-year-old, who is the majority owner of Spanish side Real Valladolid, joined Inter back in the Summer of 1997 in a then world record transfer deal and would spend five years with the club.

The two-time Balon d’Or winner made just 98 appearances during his half-decade with the Nerazzurri due to injuries. He scored 59 goals for the club and also provided three assists for his teammates.

Protocol For Resuming 19/20 Serie A Season Should Be Finalised Today

The protocol for resuming the 2019/20 Serie A season was not finalised yesterday but should be completed today according to a report in today’s print edition of Corriere dello Sport.

A meeting took place yesterday to determine the protocol to allow the season to resume, if it indeed can resume given the ongoing global Coronavirus pandemic.

The document was not finalised yesterday but will should be today and afterwards it will be forwarded on to Gabriele Gravina, the president of the Italian football federation (FIGC), who will then pass it on to Italian minister for sport and youth policies Vincenzo Spadafora and Italian minister of health Roberto Speranza.

As per the report from the Rome based newspaper, a number of issues need to be ironed out given the set-ups at Serie A and vastly different to those lower down in the Italian football pyramid meaning it is not so easy to just reach a universal decision.

Paganin: “Inter & Barcelona Swap Involving Lautaro & Griezmann? In Football You Can Never Say Never”

In an interview with Italian radio station TMW Radio, former Inter player Massimo Paganin has expressed his views on a potential swap deal between Inter and Barcelona involving Lautaro Martinez and Antoine Griezmann.

Barcelona’s interest in Lautaro Martinez is no secret and it is understood that he is one of, if not their top transfer target ahead of the upcoming transfer window.

Various reports have suggested that they would like to do a player(s) plus cash deal for the highly rated 22-year-old although other reports have stated Inter will only let him go if his €111 million release clause is paid.

Reports in the past few days however have speculated about the possibility of a swap deal that would see Lautaro and Griezmann exchanged.

Paganin, who represented Inter between 1993 and 1997, firstly spoke on Griezmann.

“Griezmann is an absolute top level player who perhaps deserved to win the Balon d’Or when France won the World Cup. He is a player who makes a difference but is not doing very well at Barcelona.”

He then spoke on Lautaro: “Nobody believed he would explode like he has this year. Inter did not expect him to make such an immediate impact nor such a good partnership with Lukaku.”

Next he discussed the possibility of the players being exchanged.

“It will be difficult, but in football you can never say never. Griezmann would give a lot to the dressing room, it would be an added value. Griezmann would adapt well to the position that Lautaro now plays.”

Inter & AC Milan Linked Luis Maximiano Set To Sign New Contract With Sporting

Sporting are in the process of tying goalkeeper Luis Maximiano down to a new and improved contract according to a report in today’s print edition of Portuguese newspaper Record.

In the past few weeks the young shot-stopper has drawn links to both Inter and AC Milan but Sporting are reluctant to let him go and are working on giving him a new contract in a bid to deter interest shown in him.

The 21-year-old has had his breakthrough season with the club this term and has been their starting goalkeeper since around November time.

He is currently already under contract with the club until the end of the 2022/23 season and the new contract will see his current annual salary quadrupled according to the report.

It goes on to add that the €45 million release clause in his current deal will also be increased up to €60 million.

This season Maximiano has made 23 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has kept a total of seven clean sheets.

Iliev’s Agent: “We’ve Agreed On Everything With Inter, PSG, Man Utd and Ajax Were Also Interested”

Kaloyan Ivanov, the agent of Nikola Iliev, has revealed that Inter have won the race to sign his highly rated client in an interview with Italian news outlet FCInterNews.it.

Inter, as Ivanov confirmed, faced competition from Paris Saint Germain, Manchester United and Ajax as well as other top clubs, for the 15-year-old sensation who is primarily an attacking midfielder but also capable of playing as a right winger and as a striker too.

Despite only turning 15-years-old in the past few months, Iliev has in fact already played two games at senior level for current employers Botev Plovdic with both of those games coming in the league. He has also been an unused substitute for the first team on two occasions this season.

In just under 80 minutes on the park, he has failed to make any goal contributions but is very highly thought of and expected to get even better.

“Iliev is the purest talent in all of Bulgarian football. We are talking about a fantastic player, tall, strong, powerful and at the same time very skilled. A rare combination nowadays,” Ivanov started.

“We have already agreed on everything with Inter. PSG, Manchester United, Ajax and other top clubs were strongly interested in him but we chose the Nerazzurri because we considered Inter the best project for the player.

“We agreed before the pandemic started and we will formalise everything once you can fly to Italy again.”

Di Marzio: “Inter’s Lautaro Martinez Is Tempted By Barcelona But He Won’t Force A Move”

Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio has shared his belief that Inter striker Lautaro Martinez will not attempt to force a move to Barcelona in the coming months.

Barcelona have a long standing interest in the 22-year-old Argentine national team player and he is widely reported to be one of their top transfer targets for the upcoming Summer transfer window.

Many reports have suggested that Barcelona see him as the long term successor to current striker Luis Suarez, who is now 33-years-old and has little over a year left on his current contract at the Nou Camp.

“In the upcoming market, I think it will be complicated for a move to happen. To date, the negotiations appear to have stalled compared to a few weeks ago,” he told Sky Sport Italia.

“Before the Coronavirus emergency, a deal was well set up which had other players inserted but then things changed and Barcelona changed things but Inter do not want to sell Lautaro unless his release clause is paid.

“He is fine at Inter and in Milan. He is tempted by Barcelona but I do not think he will force a transfer.”

Di Marzio then went on to discuss Mauro Icardi, who is currently out on loan at reigning French champions Paris Saint Germain, and what Inter are expecting to happen.

“Inter expected PSG to take up their option to buy Icardi. The intention is there from PSG who could ask for a discount and I don’t think that Inter would be opposed to this.

“There was also talk of a clause that allowed Icardi to say no to PSG but this is not the case as it appears that he has already signed with PSG in the event he is bought outright at the end of the season.”

He concluded the interview by speaking on Napoli’s Dries Mertens, who is a player Inter have been heavily linked with for a good few months now due to the fact his contract is due to expire at the end of this season.

“He looked like he would renew his contract but then other teams showed an interest. The player will make a final decision in the next few days.”

Marseille Interested In Signing Inter Midfielder Joao Mario

Marseille have set their sights on signing Inter midfielder Joao Mario in the coming months according to a report from Italian news outlet FCInterNews.it.

The Portuguese midfielder is currently out on loan at Russian Premier League side Lokomotiv Moscow and they have an option to buy him but they deem the €18 million fee to be too high for them.

The report goes on to claim that Joao Mario would like to play in either Spain or France and a move to Marseille would allow him to do just that.

Marseille have in fact already made some enquiries to the 27-year-old’s representatives with regard to him possibly moving to the Stade Velodrome.

As far as a move to Marseille goes, it is still very much in infancy but could be something that develops further and further as time goes on.

Marseille are not the only club seemingly interested in the former Sporting player either with the report also stating that La Liga outfit Real Betis are too.
