Italian Report Claims There’s Nothing Concrete With Regard To Inter Signing Barcelona’s Lionel Messi

Inter wish to avoid giving fans false hope amid continued links to Barcelona’s Lionel Messi according to a report in today’s print edition of Tuttosport.

Former club president and owner Massimo Moratti recently shared his dream of seeing Messi represent Inter and this sent media into a frenzy with some reports suggesting Inter could have the power to land the multi-time world player of the year.

Tuttosport however insist that there is nothing concrete with regards to Inter signing Messi or at least looking to sign him.

The report goes on to state that Lautaro Martinez’s situation however is very much different. Barcelona have offered him a contract worth between €7-8 million a season whilst Inter are willing to offer him a new deal worth €4 million a year if he rejects their advances and stays put.

It goes on to conclude that if Inter do have to let him go, they would ultimately like his €111 million release clause paid. Failing that they want between €70-80 million plus one or two players.

Transfer Market Format Likely To Change Given Coronavirus Pandemic

Due to the global Coronavirus pandemic, the format of the transfer market is likely to be modified according to a report in today’s print edition of Corriere dello Sport.

The Coronavirus pandemic has forced football across the world to a halt and has caused great financial damage to clubs and the European Club Association believe that clubs will rely on the window more than ever to try and help them recover financially.

As per the report, the total period in which transfer activity can take place will be no longer than a total period of 16 weeks or four months but it remains to be seen how it will be split, if at all, given some reports have suggested it could be an extra long window rather than having two windows.

The report goes on to state that the transfer market is just one of several issues that football chiefs have to deal with at the moment and it says that the Italian football federation are due to meet today to discuss things like registration and national licences for next season.

Many Inter Players Will Come Back Extra Motivated For Various Reasons If Season Resumes

In today’s print edition, Gazzetta dello Sport have shared their belief that a group of Inter players will come back with higher levels of motivation if the season does indeed start up again.

Due to the ongoing global Coronavirus pandemic the season has been on hold for a few weeks now but reports in the media have suggested several dates when the season could resume.

As per this report, Diego Godin, Matias Vecino, Kwadwo Asamoah, Roberto Gagliardini, Cristiano Biraghi, Alexis Sanchez and Victor Moses will all have extra motivation and there are various reasons for this.

It has been suggested elsewhere in the media that Godin, Vecino, Asamoah and Gagliardini could all be moved on by Inter in the coming months and they could be extra motivated to show Inter they should not be moved on or extra motivated to increase the number of clubs they could potentially go to.

As for Biraghi, Moses and Sanchez, the trio are all currently on loan at the club and could be extra motivated to try and secure a permanent switch to Inter.

The report goes on to add that Stefano Sensi, Nicolo Barella and Alessandro Bastoni could also be extra motivated with them eyeing prominent roles in the Italian national team.

Moreover, there is also Christian Eriksen, Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez. Eriksen will want to perform well and forget his largely unforgettable start to life at Inter whilst Lukaku and Lautaro will want to pick up from where they left off.

Serie A Season Could Resume At End Of May Or Start Of June & Finish In Mid-July

There are three potential dates currently being thought about as dates when the 2019/20 Serie A season could resume according to a report in today’s print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport.

Football at all levels in Italy has been on hold for about a month due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic and Lega Serie A are doing what they can in these circumstances to try and ensure that the season will resume and be finished.

The report from the Milan based newspaper states that the season could resume on May 24, May 31 or June 7 and if the season starts up again on any of these dates it will finish around mid-July and then the remainder of both the Champions League and Europa League will be finished ahead of the 2020/21 season commencing.

Reports elsewhere in the media have suggested that teams may be able to return to training from the beginning of next month but it all ultimately depends on the situation with the virus at the time.

Coronavirus Likely To Create Balance Sheet Nightmare For Inter & Many Others

The currently ongoing Coronavirus pandemic could well create a balance sheet nightmare for Inter and many other clubs on the planet according to a report in today’s print edition of Corriere dello Sport.

Inter have four players out on loan at other clubs who have options to buy in Mauro Icardi, Ivan Perisic, Joao Mario and Valentino Lazaro and due to the financial impact that Coronavirus has had clubs may refrain from activating their purchase options.

Inter could potentially pocket in the region of €130 million if the options are taken up but this situation could cause them to miss out on some significant income.

Due to football being on hold and many recent games being played behind closed doors, Inter, like many other clubs have lost out on ticket revenue and if the season does resume they could miss out on even more if games are played behind closed doors which would be detrimental to the balance sheet.

The report goes on to state that club sponsors have postponed talks over contract extensions due to the talks so Inter could lose out on more revenue in the future.

Inter Doctor Volpi: “I’m Feeling Better, I’ve Not Defeated Covid-19 Yet, I Wouldn’t Wish It On Anyone”

Inter club doctor Piero Volpi has confirmed that he is now on the mend having contracted Coronavirus in recent weeeks.

“I’m feeling better. I left the hospital, I’m at home. I’m in isolation, with a mask and all the possible precautions for those who live with me,” he began an interview with Milan based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport which appeared in today’s print edition.

“I still can’t say that I have defeated COVID-19. After the 14-day quarantine, I will take two more tests to see if I have healed. On March 27, I was hospitalised, it is an experience I would not wish on anyone.”

Volpi then went on to state that he believes there is a great difference in how it actually feels to have it and the perceived reality of it.

“There’s a great distance between the true and the perceived reality in this terrible story and this goes for all the different components, including sports. The risk is that we tend to underestimate the emergency we are still facing.”

Volpi then went on to insist that those in charge cannot think about setting dates for training or for the season to resume given the current circumstances amid reports that Serie A clubs may be allowed to begin training at the start of next month and resume the season near the end of it.

“This is an emergency that can’t lead to reasoning in the long run, but not even in the medium term. We can’t set a date now and we must think about it in narrow terms.

“In the case of May 4, for example, it will be only be possible to evaluate with certainty at the end of April, to see if the recovery is really possible.

“We are dealing with health, the risks are enormous, people’s lives are at stake here and in the case of a team that must play, there are 60 or 70 families to protect. We can guide science, nothing else.”

As things currently stand, Volpi is the only person who has something to do with Inter to have contracted the virus, which has caused great disruption to all sectors of life.

Inter Striker Lautaro Martinez’s Agent: “He Is Only Focused On Inter”

Lautaro Martinez’s agent Beto Yaque has confirmed that whilst his client is flattered by the recent praise of Barcelona’s Lionel Messi, he remains focused on the task at hand with current employers Inter.

“Lautaro is focused on his club, he is very satisfied to know that he is doing things very well, he began an interview with Spanish news outlet Mundo Deportivo.

Yaque then went on to insist that he has always had high hopes for Lautaro since becoming his agent when he was just 15-years-old.

“My partner Roly Zarate and I have always seen great potential and a great future ahead of him for how he has grown rapidly.”

Yaque proceeded to discuss Messi’s recent praise of his client and the daily reports which are linking Lautaro with a move to Barcelona in the coming months.

“It is certainly great for Lautaro to receive praise from the best in the world. He has a good relationship with Messi. It is pleasant and comforting for him but for now the player only thinks of Inter.”

He then went on to reveal that the highly rated 22-year-old rejected the opportunity to move to Barcelona’s arch rivals Real Madrid when he was 18-years-old.

“He did it because he was convinced that he would win with the first team of Racing. He never said that he doesn’t like Real, only that he wanted to win with his club.”

Finally he was asked which players he thinks Lautaro can be compared to.

“He has a bit of Aguero and Suarez about him, but in reality he has everything, he is a different player. If he is compatible with Suarez? I have no idea.”

This season Lautaro has made 31 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored 16 goals and provided four assists for his teammates.
