Inter To Bolster The Defense By Signing Tottenham’s Jan Vertonghen & Hellas Verona’s Marash Kumbulla

Inter have a plan to strengthen their defense in the summer by signing a veteran and a talented youngster, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

The report details how the Nerazzurri are looking to sign Tottenham defender Jan Vertonghen. The 32-year-old Belgian centre back’s contract expires with the North London club in the summer and can be signed on a free transfer, although Inter will have to compete with Ajax for his signature.

Vertonghen would take the place of Uruguayan defender Diego Godin in the squad, with the former Atletico Madrid man likely to head to Spurs.

The Milanese club will also look to sign Hellas Verona starlet Marash Kumbulla, the report continues. Inter will sign him in the summer, giving the Gialloblu Federico Dimarco and Eddie Salcedo in exchange, before sending him back to Ivan Juric’s side on loan to give him more regular playing time.

Italian Report Suggests Inter Owned Striker Mauro Icardi Could Join AC Milan

A report from today’s paper edition of the Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport has suggested that Inter owned striker Mauro Icardi could join cross city rivals AC Milan in the summer.

The report details how the 27-year-old Argentine striker won’t be joining French side Paris Saint Germain permanently, as the Parisians don’t want to spend €70 million on him in the current financial climate. Considering that the Rossoneri have been having financial struggles in the last few years, it may initially seem unlikely that they could afford Icardi.

However, the report continues, there are three certainties. The first is that his wife and agent Wanda Nara want him to return to Italy, the second is that the Nerazzurri have no interest in working him into the squad again and the third is that Inter don’t want to sell the Argentine forward to rivals Juventus.

Paul and Gordon Singer intend to invest in AC Milan, the report continues, and they know that they will need to market the club as a more dangerous force in Italian football. Purchasing Icardi could help them achieve this, as well as helping gain more sponsorship. Former Inter coach Luciano Spalletti could also join the club, and the duo worked together well at Inter in the 2017/18 season, where Icardi scored 29 goals.

Inter May Be Forced To Sell Lautaro Martinez Due To His High Wage Demands

Inter may be forced to sell Argentine striker Lautaro Martinez to Barcelona due to his high wage demands, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Spanish newspaper Sport.

The report details how the Blaugrana have prepared a huge contract for the 22-year-old Argentine striker, and his desire to play with compatriot and idol Lionel Messi has put the Nerazzurri in a tough position. Inter have been working to secure a new deal for Lautaro, but there is a significant gap between the club’s offer and the player’s demands.

Inter have offered the 22-year-old a €4 million yearly salary, the report continues, but Lautaro wants double that, similar figures to the offers that have arrived from England and Spain. The Nerazzurri haven’t raised their offer yet and may be forced into selling him, despite his importance to coach Antonio Conte’s squad. The player has scored 16 goals across all competitions this season.

Inter Owned Goalkeeper Gabriel Brazão: “My Idol Is Julio Cesar, I Want To Win The Treble With Inter Too”

Inter owned goalkeeper Gabriel Brazão, who is currently on loan with Spanish second tier side Albacete, discussed his career, dreams and ambitions in an interview with Italian media outlet FcInterNews earlier today.

First, he revealed where he was during the ongoing Coronavirus emergency.

“I’m in Spain.”

The player touched on his concerns about the situation across the world.

“Certainly, many countries are in a delicate situation. I pray that this will pass as soon as possible and that there will be as few losses as possible due to the coronavirus.”

He spoke about his daily life and habits.

“I’m training at home, following the club’s advice, trying to stay active so as not to compromise my fitness.”

Brazão touched on his experience at Albacete this season.

“It’s going well, I’m happy. A new culture, a new language. I think it’s getting better every day.”

The 19-year-old spoke about the difficulties of adapting to a new country and culture at such a young age.

“It was difficult. I was a boy who liked having his family around. But even as a child I knew that one day there would be this separation and I would live alone. I never doubted that these sacrifices would be rewarded.”

He highlighted two players that he looks up to.

“Fabio from Cruzeiro and former Inter shot stopper Julio Cesar.”

The Inter owned goalkeeper spoke about why he chose the Nerazzurri and not rivals AC Milan.

“The project that the Nerazzurri have proposed to me was very interesting. They told me all about the club and the various opportunities. And then I followed Inter from a very young age, for players like Julio Cesar, Adriano and Lucio. Let’s say that I’ve always had an Inter side.”

He spoke about a conversation he had with Julio Cesar before joining Inter.

“I asked him specifically about the club, the employees, the career prospects, the fans and the city.”

The 19-year-old dreamed of having a similar career with Inter as Cesar did.

“Of course. This is my dream.”

Brazão refused to talk about his chances of being the Inter number one.

“The future belongs to God.”

He touched on the Brazilian national team.

“I have worked for all the youth selections in my country. Maybe one day I’ll start wearing the jersey of the national team.”

The Brazilian spoke about Inter captain Samir Handanovic.

“A great goalkeeper. Among the best in the world. He has an incredible regularity, feline reflexes and an unusual tranquility.”

Finally, Brazão discussed his reaction when he found out that Inter wanted to sign him.

“I couldn’t believe it. Just the team of my childhood idols. A team that I’ve always liked and admired wanted to count on me. It was something from another planet.”

Inter Primavera Midfielder Lucien Agoume: “I’ve Matured A Lot Since I’ve Been In Milan”

Inter Primavera midfielder Lucien Agoume discussed his move to the Nerazzurri and his progress at the club so far in an interview in today’s paper edition of the Turin based newspaper Tuttosport.

First, he discussed how he reacted when he found out that Inter wanted to sign him.

“I found out about two years ago when I was with France’s Under 16 national team. It was an honor, also because when I was a kid, I loved watching Inter. Of course, I remember the 2010 Champions League final with Mourinho, Zanetti and Milito. Even then I was already rooting for Inter, so when they told me they wanted me, it was exciting. When you play football, the dream is always to get to play in the most important teams. Inter was quick to realise this dream.”

The 18-year-old spoke about his meeting with first team coach Antonio Conte.

“I’d like to say one thing first, it was a privilege for me to meet the mister. Antonio Conte is certainly one of the best coaches in the world, if not the best.”

He revealed which players he follows closely in the first team training sessions.

“Borja Valero because of his experience and because we play in the same role. He has great qualities. But I also look at Brozovic a lot. I’ve matured a lot since I’ve been in Milan.”

Agoume touched on the best players in the world in his role.

“There are many strong ones. Maybe my favorite is Toni Kroos from Real Madrid.”

The Nerazzurri midfielder did not think that he was too similar to Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba.

“It’s true, ever since I started playing, they always told me I looked like Pogba, because I am physically similar to him. But if I’m honest, I don’t like the comparison. Not that I have anything against Pogba, he’s an example, but I just want to be Lucien Agoume.”

He touched on his Serie A debut, against Fiorentina in December.

“So far it has been the best moment of my young career. Making my debut at 17 with the Inter jersey, I think, is no small thing. It’s been a great satisfaction. It’s just a shame I didn’t win. I hope to have other opportunities.”

Finally, Agoume spoke about his future and whether that will be at Inter or elsewhere on loan.

“I only think about the pitch, the rest I leave to the people who follow me, my agents and the company to decide. I’m sure they’ll choose the best for me.”

The 18-year-old, who is contracted to the Nerazzurri until 2022, has made nine appearances so far this season for the Primavera squad, for a total of 810 minutes. In that time, he has scored one goal and provided three assists.

Ex-Inter Goalkeeper Francesco Toldo: “I Scored Against Against Juventus Not Christian Vieri”

Former Inter goalkeeper Francesco Toldo discussed his career and memories of Inter in an interview with Italian media outlet FcInter1908 yesterday.

First, he discussed the ongoing Coronavirus emergency.

“This period allows you to rediscover the beauty of being with your family. I spend my time with my two sons, one 18 and the other 14 years old, and then with little Bianca, born just four months ago.

“Every afternoon, like everyone else, I stay glued to the TV waiting for updates and hoping that good news arrives.”

He then joked about a goal that he reportedly scored against Juventus, although it was claimed by Christian Vieri officially.

“The Juve goal is mine, not Bobo’s. We decided to give it to him because he was competing for the top scorer. He says he touched it, but I don’t think he did. We still talk about it and joke about it together.

“I said to Cuper, don’t try to stop me, coach, if we’re behind, I’ll go up and score! At San Siro everyone was drunk with happiness, I still think back to Scarpini’s scream.”

The 48-year-old Italian spoke about Inter.

“I turned down offers even when I wasn’t playing regularly. I was too close to the Inter colors, I said no to everyone because I knew we would win.

“I don’t want medals, I was too close to Inter. I also refused a lot of money and great teams but I wanted to win with Inter. And so, it was.”

He spoke about Inter’s 3-2 comeback against Sampdoria in 2005.

“That 3-2 in 2005 was a very strange match, total apotheosis. But we played several games attacking deep too late, it wasn’t the right way. It can go well in one game but not for the whole season.”

Toldo discussed former Inter striker Ronaldo.

“An incredible player. I only regretted having him on the team after the injury. He skipped past the man with a disarming ease and asked his team-mates to exchange him in the runs.

“He was successful with everyone except Bobo Vieri. Bobo was also great, but he had a bit of trouble passing the ball!”

He touched on his famously strong performance against Valencia.

“The game against Valencia? If I got angry, it was hard to concede. But they had to anger me. And you know what happens when a good guy gets angry. I was on the right night, I had a real show.”

The 48-year-old revealed a dream that he has once had.

“I dream of Messi to Inter. And every once in a while, Javi Zanetti would talk about it to him. And I think with Moratti it would have been possible. But Messi would never have left Barcelona. It was a bitter thing to have him against us.”

He spoke about the Euro 2000 game against the Netherlands, which Italy won on penalties.

“The referee also favoured them quite a bit. They had set a trap for us. I had already imagined the penalties in my head the night before.

“A friend of mine told me on the phone that I’d cover anything, and I did. With the discs on the computer, I studied the penalty shooters.”

He revealed the belief the Inter squad had in their Treble winning campaign.

“In 2010, we were all convinced that if we made it to the Champions League finals, we would win. We were confident and we were confident with each game more and more. The fans deserved it, I saw true happiness. I still remember the hugs with all my friends, my teammates and my family.”

Toldo revealed that he didn’t had a good relationship with former Inter coach Roberto Mancini.

“I didn’t have a great relationship with him. He questioned me and he’s in. The man always respected me, but we didn’t have a great relationship. I put team and company first. I helped Julio Cesar, we’re still great friends. I have made fair competition.”

He then touched on his positive thoughts of Jose Mourinho.

“Real man. He gets inside you, he’s a psychologist before he’s even a coach. He also gives you unbelievable shots, huh. I don’t think he’ll ever go back to Inter because he wants to keep the memory intact. The rant in Bergamo? But look, there were others. But we knew they weren’t personal rants, they were all well received.

“Many coaches want to copy him. The failure to return to Milan after May 22nd? A player doesn’t know what’s behind it, you mustn’t always judge. Evidently, he had his reasons for doing so.”

The 48-year-old highlighted his positive relationship with former Inter shot stopper Julio Cesar.

“We are great friends him. We have a Treble chat together and I won’t tell you what goes on in that chat! Julio is a great person.”

He discussed which defenders he felt most confident playing behind.

“Which ones did I prefer? Materazzi, Cordoba and Samuel gave me confidence. Lucio? Well, Lucio, when he went on, you had to take him off.”

Finally, Toldo spoke about his future and what that may look like.

“I’ve been at Inter 10 years and they were beautiful years. I don’t think I’m coming back, now I’m enjoying my kids and enjoying my time with my family.

“I met great people at Inter, we developed many social projects. I’ve played, I’ve taken care of Inter Forever and Inter Campus. One thing I miss, the youth sector. Who knows.”

Ex-Inter Goalkeeper Sebastien Frey: “I Like Musso But Handanovic Is Good To Play For A Few More Years”

Former Inter goalkeeper Sebastien Frey spoke about his career and memories with the Nerazzurri whilst speaking to 2006 World Cup winner Marco Materazzi on Instagram yesterday, with his statement reported in its entirety by Italian broadcaster FcInterNews.

First, Frey discussed the 2006 World Cup final.

“I broke my knee in January 2006, I wouldn’t have been a starter, but I probably would have been among the three called up. Had I been there, I would have told Barthez where Grosso’s penalty kick would have been.”

He touched on which player he prefers between Materazzi and Lilian Thuram.

“Materazzi. Because with Matrix you are happy to talk, Thuram as a player is very strong, he is a great legend but you can’t talk to him. He knows everything. Like Seedorf, great guys, but, professors and scholars.”

Frey spoke about the famous 6-0 derby game.

“I was in goal for the famous 6-0 unfortunately.”

The 40-year-old Frenchman then spoke about Inter’s Treble winning season.

“The year of the Treble I was in Florence, playing at the San Siro against you was impossible, you were so strong. In the final you were against Bayern Munich, who threw Fiorentina out of the Champions League that year and stole the match from us in the first leg.

“Klose scored an offside goal, in the final I don’t know if we would have got there but we would never have won against you, you were very strong. But to spend a round in the Champions League with someone like Fiorentina would have been great.”

He spoke about former Inter striker Samuel Eto’o.

“He’s the classic winning player, wherever he went he won. You put him on any team and he won. He came to Inter, said it and won.”

Frey spoke about former Inter coach Jose Mourinho.

“I know what kind of person he is, but from the outside people say he’s cocky and he’s a pushover. But how much did he protect you?”

The 40-year-old touched on the Inter Legends games.

“For me, one of the most beautiful was the one we did against Chelsea. I hope we’ll play some more.”

He revealed that Mario Balotelli scored one of his first goals against him.

“One of the first goals he scored was against me.”

Frey touched on why he didn’t start for the French national team.

“Ask Marco what the coach of France was like.”

He spoke about a potential future replacement for Samir Handanovic.

“Eh… That’s a good question. I think he’ll be fine for a couple more years. I like Musso.”

Finally, Frey spoke about Italian defender Alessandro Bastoni.

“Very strong.”
