Three Important Meetings Next Week To Discuss TV Rights, Salary Cuts & Restart Date

A report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Corriere della Sera has highlighted the three topics that will be discussed in the three meetings next week, starting with the Lega Serie A assembly on Monday followed by the meeting on Thursday with the FIGC.

The report details how the meetings will be focused on solving three main issues, before a new meeting on Friday between FIGC president Gabriele Gravina and Minister of Sport Vincenzo Spadafora. The first topic that will be discussed is TV rights. Sky and DAZN pay a total of €973 million each year for the rights to broadcast Serie A, but clubs are waiting for the last €300 million installment, which is due on 1st May.

The second issue that must be solved is the situation regarding players’ salaries, the report continues. The League and the AIC are continuing their negotiations, but their positions are still far apart. Clubs have now begun talks with players internally to reach an agreement, similar to Juventus and how they handled the issue.

Finally, the meetings will discuss when the league can restart, the report continues. On Friday Spadafora is expected to tell Gravina the guidelines for a possible restart in May. UEFA have set a deadline on the 3rd August, meaning that Serie A needs to be fully finalised before then.

Inter Looking To Speed Up Negotiations For Hellas Verona Starlet Marash Kumbulla

Inter are looking to speed up negotiations for Hellas Verona starlet Marash Kumbulla, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

The report details how the 19-year-old Albanian defender’s value has dropped to around €20 million, in part due to the ongoing Coronavirus emergency, which is expected to heavily impact on the football transfer market. The Nerazzurri are prepared to give the Gialloblu Federico Dimarco and Eddie Salcedo in exchange for the teenager.

Kumbulla could then be sent back to Verona on loan next season in order to continue his development and give the provincial side time to find an adequate replacement, the report continues. The 19-year-old has made 19 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 1581 minutes. In that time, he has scored one goal and helped the side have one of the strongest defenses in the league.

Agreement Between Italian Clubs & AIC Regarding Salary Cuts Not Expected

The Italian football federation didn’t expect the tense discussions between clubs and players regarding a salary cut, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

The report details how an agreement between club presidents and the Italian Footballers’ Association seems distant now. The clubs do not want to pay salaries from March until the training work restarts, whilst the players are only considering the cut for the month of March. A joint agreement now is not expected and clubs will be forced to negotiate individually, similar to what Juventus have already done.

Once some agreements have been reached, the report continues, a common ground may be found and a new proposal can be submitted to the AIC, in order to ensure that all clubs are on a similar playing field. Juventus players have agreed to take a pay cut for the next few months, which will save the Turin based club up to €90 million.

Zico: “Inter Didn’t Give Themselves Time To Understand Gabigol & Learn How To Use Him”

Former Udinese star Zico discussed former Inter striker Gabriel ‘Gabigol’ Barbosa and time in Italy in an interview in today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

First, Zico discussed his favourite coaches in modern football.

“Guardiola and Klopp, but also Mourinho, Sarri, Simeone. There are many strong ones in Europe. Then you have to see what kind of players they have, what quality they have.”

He then spoke about which team he thinks will win this season’s Champions League.

“A month ago, I would have said Liverpool. But they dropped out suddenly and were eliminated. And now Atletico is a candidate, when you beat the favourites, and reigning champions, you can go all the way, you gain strength and awareness. Then I think the City and Guardiola are number one.”

Zico also revealed which Italian team he thought were likeliest to go the furthest in the tournament.

“I say Atalanta, who are expressing a beautiful game, a very strong collective. I can see them in the finals. Yes, because beating them at home in Bergamo is very difficult and City have noticed it.”

The 67-year-old Brazilian revealed that he still follows the Italian topflight.

“Sure. It’s had a bit of difficulty in recent years expressing talent, especially in attack, but it’s always Italy. It’s improving, it’s lost the big names, which ended up in England, Spain and even Germany. So young people don’t learn, they don’t have examples. When we were there, me, Platini, Maradona, Del Piero, Baggio or Totti grew up.”

The former Udinese and Brazil star spoke about Brazilian side Flamengo and their Copa Libertadores victory.

“And they also play good football, offensive, Gabigol is in a fairy tale moment. The club suffered from 2012 to 2017, but have been able to create a nice structure, today they have a European big standard. So, it was easier to strengthen with people with European experience like Rafinha, Diego Alves, Filipe Luis, Gerson. Then the Portuguese technician Jesus gave another philosophy, and with the ‘Europeans’ it was easier to explain his mentality. They have men on the field in the right places, the squad is a spectacle, it will be difficult to beat them.”

Finally, Zico spoke about Gabigol and how he struggled in Italy with the Nerazzurri.

“Yes, we were more mature before. It’s hard to play in Italy for the strikers. And if a club calls you when you’re young, they must know you well. Inter didn’t give themselves time to understand Gabriel, what kind of game they prefer, how to use him better. Besides, Ronaldo the Phenomenon, striker at 18, there’s one and only one!”

Gabigol joined Inter in 2016 after signing for around €29.5 million from Brazilian side Santos. He struggled in Italy, only netting once in ten appearances across all competitions. After that season, he was sent on loan to Benfica but again struggled, before returning to Brazil. There he would score 34 goals and provide 11 assists in 41 appearances for Flamengo, leading them to a league title and Copa Libertadores.

The report details how the Partenopei, under the guidance of coach Gennaro Gattuso, are looking for a new striker for next season and have identified Pinamonti as a possible option. The 20-year-old Italian, who is currently on loan with Genoa, will be purchased by the Ligurian side at the end of the season, due to the obligation to buy attached to his deal.

Pinamonti will cost Genoa €18 million, the report continues, and despite his limited number of goals with Frosinone and the Rossoblu he has continued to impress Napoli. The 20-year-old has made 22 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 1585 minutes. Italian Report Highlights The Achievements Of The Inter Youth Sector In The Last 10 Years

A report from today’s paper edition of the Turin based newspaper Tuttosport has highlighted the impressive work of Inter’s youth sector.

The report details how the youth sector since 2010, under the supervision of Roberto Samaden, has been incredibly impressive, making the Nerazzurri’s sector one of the best in the country. Since 2010, the Inter Primavera squad have won 14 league titles, one Coppa Italia Primavera, three tournaments in Viareggio, two Città di Arco and five Super Cups, as well as the NextGen trophy with Andrea Stramaccioni.

However, one issue with the youth sector is that they haven’t provided the first team with many players, the report continues, although this season that seems to be changing with talents like Sebastiano Esposito earning minutes.

Due to Financial Fair Play, Inter have been forced to sell some promising youth players, the report continues, like in the case of now Roma starlet Nicolo Zaniolo.

Italian Report Highlights Five Players That Could Help Inter Win The Title This Season

A report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport has highlighted the five players that they believe can help guide Inter to an unlikely league title this season.

The report highlights Inter captain Samir Handanovic and his importance to the club’s defense. The 35-year-old Slovenian shot stopper will extend his contract with the Milanese club until 2022 and is sure to continue his incredible lock down of the Inter goal.

The next player highlighted in the report is Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen. The former Spurs talisman struggled initially after arriving in January but has had time to understand the system and is sure to re-enter the pitch determined to impress.

Stefano Sensi will also be important for the Nerazzurri when the season restarts, the report adds. The former Sassuolo midfielder has struggled with injuries this season but now has had time to recover comfortably and be at a peak physical condition before the next game.

Finally, the report suggested that both Romelu Lukaku and could drive Inter to the league title. The Belgian forward is likely to continue his form as he impresses more and more under coach Antonio Conte, whilst Lautaro is considering a high profile move away from Milan in the summer, and so may wish to market himself as best as possible in the remaining games.

Italian Report Explains How Players Will Be Kept Safe Upon Returning To Training

A report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport has explained what training sessions will look like during the ongoing Coronavirus emergency.

The report details how the first step will be to divide the squad into two groups. The first will be all the players who tested positive for the contagion, as well as athletes who have shown or reported symptoms such as a fever, cough, asthenia, dyspnea, myalgia, diarrhea, anosmia and ageusia. The other group will be all the players who have tested negative, untested players who could have been potentially asymptomatic and those who have been in contact with people who have tested positive, such as family members.

Players will be swabbed every four days, the report continues. Players who previously tested positive will have a longer, 15-day recovery compared to their teammates, who will undergo some stress tests. These protocols have all been put in place to ensure the safety of all the players and staff.

Inter Target Marash Kumbulla: “I Want To Play In The Champions League”

Inter target Marash Kumbulla discussed his career and his first season in Serie A with Hellas Verona in an interview in today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Corriere della Sera.

“I’m very serious, it’s true, but only when necessary. I also know how to have fun. My dad and the coach simply mean that I’m mature for my age.”

He spoke about a comment made by former Albania coach Gianni De Biasi, who suggested that young Albanians are hungrier than young Italians.

“Let’s say that young Albanians come from a different culture, which maybe allows them to have more stimuli and ambitions.”

Kumbulla touched on how it felt to play in Serie A with the same shirt that he wore as a child.

“I think it’s everyone’s dream, it’s already difficult to get to the top, doing it with the team it all started with is indescribable.”

He spoke about the first team that he really felt like he’d ‘made it’.

“When I scored my first goal in Serie A, against Sampdoria, an unforgettable moment.”

The teenager confirmed that he had a poster of Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini in his bedroom when he was younger.

“Yes, I’ve always admired his determination and his desire to improve himself. He’s a real warrior on the field.”

Kumbulla touched on the Gialloblu’s strong defense this season and how their poor start may have forced them to develop this strength.

“It spurred us to work harder than the others, but we knew we weren’t weak, let alone doomed…”

The Hellas Verona defender spoke about a forward that has given him the most difficulty this season.

“Dybala, for technical and physical characteristics, a tightrope walker.”

He spoke about how he initially played in the centre of a back three before being pushed to the left side.

“I like it a lot, because I also have a certain freedom to go forward.”

Finally, he spoke about a dream he wants to achieve at the age of 20.

“Playing in the Champions League.”

Future Of Inter Owned Midfielder Radja Nainggolan Unclear Due To His Wages

The future of Inter owned midfielder Radja Nainggolan is unclear as there are two things that make a permanent stay in Cagliari unlikely, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

The report details how the 31-year-old Belgian midfielder feels at home in Sardinia and is enjoying his time there, but still may not be able to stay there beyond this season. The first problem is that he currently earns around €4 million a year, a salary too high for the Sardinian club. The other problem is that he is worth around €15-20 million, expensive for the Rossoblu considering the current financial climate.

Cagliari president Tommaso Giulini discussed the importance of building a strong squad in the last few days, saying: “We will see the players on loan who are doing well and who will deserve a chance for next year. We intend to build a team that can make a good impression and we hope that, if we can play these thirteen games that we are missing, we will get indications on how to continue with this squad.”

Nainggolan has made 24 appearances across all competitions so far this season for the Rossoblu, for a total of 1943 minutes. In that time, he has scored five goals and provided six assists, regaining the form that he was known during his time at Roma.
