Fiorentina President Rocco Commisso On Inter Target Federico Chiesa: “I Want To Keep Him In Florence”

Fiorentina’s American owner and President Rocco Commisso, discussed the future of the club’s stars in an interview with broadcaster EPSN, aired earlier today.

First, Commisso spoke about his dreams for the club.

“My dream is to make Fiorentina a place where everyone wants to go. Chiesa knows how much we love him, all the fans of Fiorentina. I already made the promise last year as soon as I arrived despite Juventus.”

The Italian-American billionaire then highlighted what his future goals are for the club and how they can achieve his dream.

“My intention is to keep Chiesa in Florence, I hope it’s his too. And I think with the new coach he has much more enthusiasm and the desire to show his affection. I want to keep him like all the young stars of our squad, from Dragowski to Vlahovic.”

Chiesa, who is contracted to the Viola until 2022, has long been the target of both Inter and Juventus, who appreciate his incredible talents and high skill ceiling.

The 22-year-old Italian has made 26 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 2117 minutes. In that time, he has scored seven goals and provided five assists.

The player was close to a move to hated rivals Juventus last summer, but the arrival and promises of Commisso made him change his mind.

Since Commisso’s take over, he has been working hard to improve the club’s facilities and push forward the new stadium project, which is currently bogged down in bureaucracy.

Ex-Inter Goalkeeper Gianluca Pagliuca: “Nerazzurri Cant Sell Lautaro Martinez If They Want To Win The Serie A”

Former Inter goalkeeper Gianluca Pagliuca discussed the restart of the Serie A and the ongoing Coronavirus emergency in an interview with Italian media outlet Calcionews24.com today.

“In my opinion it doesn’t make sense to restart the league again, even if there are obviously economic and various interests at stake. Putting the health of professionals at risk to finish a season that is already compromised.

“We might as well end here and resume in September normally, concentrating on the next season and doing well at the European Championships.”

He then highlighted what he would do for next season in order to maintain regularity in the league.

“Of course, I’d avoid relegating any teams and I’d have a 22-team Serie A next year. It wouldn’t be right to penalize Benevento so much, the club who in my opinion would be penalized the most i this situation, since the second placed team is 20 points behind them.”

The 53-year-old Italian then spoke about the gap that still exists between Juventus and Inter.

“The Nerazzurri have the potential to win, but the Italian champions are far ahead. When they played against them this year, in the first half Inter managed to hurt them, but in the second half Juve came out and they went 2-0 up.

“In one-off matches like that the Bianconeri have much more experience, not only more than Inter but more than any other Italian team.”

He also discussed the impact of coach Antonio Conte at Inter and how he has chosen his squad.

“Conte had a great impact, he came in strong and decisive as a great coach must do. I would have kept Nainggolan, he’s one of those players that I would always put on the pitch, but regarding players like Perisic and Icardi who all left, I agree with him. He didn’t want them and he was right, bringing in champions like Lukaku and other players who have done great things.”

Pagliuca highlighted how important Argentine striker Lautaro Martinez is to the Nerazzurri.

“If Inter want to win and try to have a season where they beat Juventus or Lazio for the title, Lautaro will be a decisive player and must stay. They can cash in and take another strong player like him, but it’s always a risk.”

Finally, Pagliuca spoke about the impression that Lautaro made on him this season.

“When I saw him here in Bologna, he made a big impression on me, small but strong. If an offer that can’t be renounced arrives you can also consider it, but you have to think about it not once, but many times.”

Lautaro, who is contracted to the Nerazzurri until 2023, has made 31 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 2437 minutes.

In that time, he has scored 16 goals and provided four assists, forming a formidable partnership with Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku and attracting the interest of both Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Italian Report Claim Inter Open To Letting Mauro Icardi Join Juventus In Swap Deal For Bianconeri Players

French side Paris Saint Germain will not permanently sign Inter owned striker Mauro Icardi, who is currently on loan with the Ligue 1 club, according to a report from Italian media outlet FcInter1908.it today.

The report details how the Nerazzurri were hoping to earn around €70 million from the sale of the 27-year-old Argentine striker, but PSG are not keen to add more drama to their already unstable dressing room.

The Milanese club will now have to look for a new home for Icardi, especially considering his high wages and contract that doesn’t expire until the end of June 2022.

Therefore, Inter have come up with a solution to solve the problem, the report continues. Juventus have long been interested in Icardi and the Nerazzurri may look to send the Argentine forward to Turin in exchange for a couple of Juventus players, a situation that would suit both teams considering the Bianconeri’s bloated squad and high wage bill.

Inter Could End Up Signing Arturo Vidal From Barcelona Without Selling Lautaro Martinez To The Catalans

Barcelona are prepared to offer Inter Chilean midfielder Arturo Vidal as part of the deal for Argentine striker Lautaro Martinez, according to a report from Italian media outlet FcInterNews today.

The report details how the Blaugrana are incredibly keen to sign the 22-year-old Argentine forward, who is contracted to the Nerazzurri until 2023, but do not want to pay his €111 million release clause.

So, they are prepared to offer Inter a player that they previously looked for in both the summer and winter transfer windows in the last 12 months.

Vidal’s contract with the Catalan club expires at the end of June 2021, the report continues, and so he is worth less than the €20 million figure that the Blaugrana previously valued him at.

Considering the expected effect on the transfer market by the Coronavirus, it is likely that Inter will fail to sign Lazio star Sergej Milinkovic-Savic in the summer, meaning that Vidal may prove an important low-cost option, even if Lautaro is not sold to the Catalan club.

Inter To Offer Fiorentina €20M As Well As Dalbert & Nainggolan To Sign Federico Chiesa

Inter’s top target in the upcoming summer transfer window is Fiorentina’s Italian international winger Federico Chiesa, according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sport Mediaset published earlier today.

The report details how the ongoing Coronavirus emergency has had a heavy impact on football’s transfer market, lowering Chiesa’s cost to around €50 million. Inter coach Antonio Conte has long been a great admirer of the 22-year-old Italian forward, who is contracted to the Florence based club until 2022.

According to the report, Conte would play Chiesa as a wingback in his 3-5-2 system. similar to how Victor Moses was deployed at Chelsea in the 2016/17 title winning campaign.

Focusing on Chiesa, the Nerazzurri wouldn’t look to redeem Victor Moses and sign him on a permanent basis, the report continues.

The €12 million that would have been given to Chelsea can instead go towards a deal for the 22-year-old Italian, alongside another €10 million and both Dalbert and Radja Nainggolan, as the Nerazzurri are trying to defeat Juventus for Chiesa’s signature.

Barcelona Prepared To Offer Inter Striker Lautaro Martinez €10M Per Season

Barcelona are prepared to give Inter striker Lautaro Martinez a huge contract in order to convince him to join the club, according to a report from transfer market expert Nicolò Schira, with his words being reported by PassioneInter.com earlier today.

The report details how the Catalan club are incredibly keen to sign the 22-year-old Argentine striker, who is contracted to the Nerazzurri until 2023, as they believe he would be the perfect replacement for the aging Luis Suarez.

Racing President Blanco: “Atletico Madrid & Valencia Could Have Signed Inter’s Lautaro Martinez For €9M”

Racing President Victor Blanco discussed Inter striker Lautaro Martinez and his future in an interview in today’s paper edition of the Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo.

First, Blanco discussed his relationship with the 22-year-old Argentine striker.

“The story I told about Real Madrid sums it up. He left very early. We would have liked to have him for another season, but for us it was impossible because Inter and Atletico Madrid showed up with figures that were very high.”

He revealed that Lautaro’s mentality was not affected by the interest from Europe and he remained professional until the end.

“He behaved very well. He was always very calm about it. Lautaro never felt dizzy about those rumored millions. He had set goals. He could have left because the offers on the table were there, but he said, ‘I’ll stay until the end of the season.’ And so, it was.”

Blanco also revealed that Valencia had the opportunity to sign Lautaro but couldn’t afford him.

“Yes, Valencia had a priority for Lautaro and two other young players, but it wasn’t enough to make an offer. Atletico were more solid, but Inter were the club most interested in Lautaro and took him away.”

The Racing president detailed how Atletico tried to sign the 22-year-old Argentine striker and how they missed the opportunity to secure his signature for a low fee.

“No, I didn’t talk to Simeone. His sporting director came to Buenos Aires. We had three or four meetings, but they didn’t meet Racing’s demands. At that time, in the second half of 2017, the release clause was €9 million. They could have exercised it, but they didn’t.

“In addition to the management of executives, it must be recognized that sometimes the good will of the player is necessary. Not even that time was he clouded, he renewed, we were able to raise the release clause and in a short time he went to Inter.”

He revealed the total cost of the deal for Lautaro.

“The gross figure was close to €40 million. What happens is that with all the discounts, there was less money left at Racing. You have to take into account the taxes, the representative’s commission, the 20% that belonged to Liniers and the 10% that belonged to his family. We had so much confidence and cared so much about Lautaro that we preferred to give up €2 million at that time to maintain a 10% capital gain on €14 million euros.”

Finally, Blanco suggested that he was not shocked about the interest of the big European clubs in the Argentine striker.

“Of course not. Apart from his footballing qualities and the number of goals he has already scored, he is very young and is also a starter on the national team. He doesn’t feel the weight of any jersey. He’s succeeding at Inter and has everything it takes to do well at Barcelona and any other club in the world. I have no doubts.

“Everyone knows what he is as a player because he can be seen. But Lautaro has the plus of personality, he’s a born winner and an excellent professional. He’s a different player from the others, in every sense.”

Lautaro, who is contracted to the Nerazzurri until 2023, has made 31 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 2437 minutes. In that time, he has scored 16 goals and provided four assists.

Inter Line Up Tottenham’s Vertonghen & Hellas Verona’s Kumbulla As Replacements For Diego Godin

Inter are looking for a replacement for veteran defender Diego Godin, with two names in particular catching their attention, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The report details how the Nerazzurri management have been considering signing Tottenham defender Jan Vertonghen in the summer, after the Belgian’s contract expires with the North London club. The player is unlikely to sign a contract renewal with the club and is looking for a new challenge elsewhere.

However, Vertonghen isn’t as exciting as the other name that the Nerazzurri are thinking about, the report continues. Hellas Verona’s defender Marash Kumbulla has excited Inter this season, with a series of strong performances despite his young age.

The 19-year-old Albanian international, who is contracted to the Gialloblu until 2022, is worth around €20 million and Inter are prepared to offer Verona Federico Dimarco and Eddie Salcedo in exchange for the talented youngster.

Italian PFA President Damiano Tommasi: “We Want To Return To The Pitch But It Depends On The Virus”

Damiano Tommasi, the President of the Italian Professional Footballers’ Association, the AIC, discussed the ongoing Coronavirus emergency, the season and the players’ salary cuts in an interview in today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

First, he discussed the impact of the salary cut for the players.

“Some institutions, such as FIFA and UEFA, could make funds available to limit the economic problems. And, besides, don’t forget women’s football. And the same goes for the guys in Serie C and D, who in the worst-case scenario could even look for something else.

“I’m sorry to have such fears and believe me I would have gladly avoided having them and talking about them.”

The current AIC President and former Giallorossi midfielder then touched on how the cuts would affect players in the lower leagues.

“Let’s look precisely at Serie D. How many players, with a wife and kids, live off money from football? For them it’s a fundamental expense reimbursement, which together with the main salary, the ‘first job’ salary, makes it possible to survive past the end of the month.

“In any case, a lot will depend on the timing of the possible recovery. And here, honestly, there is still some uncertainty.”

Tommassi then decided to look ahead focusing on when Italian football may begin to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

“It’s hard to predict, no one can, presidents, executives, footballers, no one. Only the virus and what you’re trying to do to defeat it will decide. I noticed one thing, I’ll use a football comparison.

“A player suffers a particularly serious injury, he understands it immediately and leaves charged to come back, but then the last month is the part that really counts. Now we’re close to recovery, there’s no need to be in a hurry, it’s essential to proceed gradually.”

The AIC president was not in a hurry to restart the leagues in order to help protect the safety of the players.

“The hope, and I’m speaking for the AIC, is to get back on the field quickly, maybe even in the summer. You know, with the beaches full of tourists.

“However, I want to repeat myself, to do that, there must be absolute guarantees. The health and safety of families come first, when there will be no more danger we will return to think about training and the resumption of official matches.

“Other things count today, how many people have died? How many of them, and the thought also goes to Gianni Mura, a great Italian journalist, have left us without receiving the goodbye they deserved? All this cannot go unnoticed. Like the image of the military vehicles, which carried coffins in Bergamo, in a few years, we will see those shots in the history books.”

Finally, Tommasi spoke about when the players could look to return to training, a topic that has divided many as Lazio president Claudio Lotito is one of many pushing for a quicker return to training.

“Almost identical discussion to that of the matches, who determines when to go back to training? If so, how? With a full roster, in groups or maybe individually? Here, too, they’ll decide the natural course of things and the process of returning, as it were, to normal.”
