Video – Inter CEO Marotta: “Everyone Has A Role To Play, Our Role Is TO Stay At Home”

Inter chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta has insisted that Coronavirus can be beaten if everyone is united and acts as a team together.

Coronavirus has caused football in Italy to stop for a number of weeks and it remains completely unclear as to whether or not the season will even resume.

Reports in the media have suggested that Inter are one of a few clubs of the belief that there will be no more football played this season.

Marotta told Italian broadcaster Rai Sport: “As in football, we will win if we are a team and if we are united. Everyone has a role to play. Today our role is to stay at home: I’m staying at home.”

Alexis Sanchez Set For Loyalty Bonus Payment On Return To Manchester United After Inter Loan Concludes

Manchester United will be forced into paying Alexis Sanchez a loyalty bonus upon his return from Inter according to a report from British news outlet The Sun.

The Chilean joined Inter on a season long loan this past Summer but is widely expected to returned to the Red Devils at the end of the season having failed to make the desired impact at San Siro.

Due to the fact he will be returning and not staying with the Nerazzurri, United will have to pay him a €1.1 million loyalty bonus.

Sanchez is understood to earn around half a million a week but Inter are understood to only be paying half of this whilst he is with the club.

The former Barcelona man has made 15 appearances across all competitions to date for Inter but has been on the pitch for just 596 minutes in total in which he has scored one goal and tallied three assists.

Former Inter Owner Moratti: “The Treble Winning Team Was Made Up Of Extraordinary Players”

Former Inter president and owner Massimo Moratti has reflected on Inter’s Champions League final win in the 2009/10 season.

Inter faced off against German giants Bayern Munich at Real Madrid’s Santiago Bernabeu Stadium and won the match 2-0 with thanks to a brace from legendary striker Diego Milito.

“We all did our best to achieve certain goals. It is wonderful that certain images can still make the fans happy today. The treble winning team was made up of extraordinary players,” he started an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia which was broadcast earlier on today.

“Generally speaking finals are full of incredible tension but instead we wanted to enjoy the party, perhaps because we had suffered so much against Barcelona. Looking back on the game, it was a very difficult one.

“That day I wasn’t upset, I say that sincerely. In those moments there is no time for emotion as you are busy analysing everything and figuring out if you have done something wrong right up to the last minute.

“Fortunately everything was done well. The team dealt with things with exceptional professionalism. The boys made many sacrifices and deserved to to win.”

Moratti bought a controlling stake in Inter from fellow Italian businessman Ernesto Pellegrini back in 1995 and he would be at the helm of the club for 18 years, during which Inter won no shortage of trophies including a historic treble consisting of the Serie A, Coppa Italia and Champions League.

In 2013 Moratti sold a controlling stake in the club to Indonesian tycoon Erick Thohir and sold the remainder of his stake in the club in the Summer of 2016 when Chinese e-commerce giants Suning came in and bought the club.

Inter Legend Diego Milito: “Jose Mourinho Is One Of The Best Managers I Ever Had”

In an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, Inter legend Diego Milito has revealed what Jose Mourinho was like with the team prior to the Champions League final in the 2009/10 season.

The Argentine striker, who was pivotal in Inter winning a historic treble that season, firstly spoke on how he has dealt with having to live in quarantine as of late due to the ongoing global Coronavirus pandemic.

“It has been a difficult period for everyone. We have been isolated for 12 days, hoping that everything will go away as soon as possible.”

He then went on to reveal what Mourinho was like with the team in the dressing room at the Santiago Bernabeu prior to Inter taking to the pitch against Bayern Munich.

“He really calmed us. He was our leader, he knew of the importance of transmitting calm in those moments of tension.

“He knew what that moment meant for the whole Nerazzurri world. I remember before going to the stadium he told us to enjoy that day because we didn’t know if we would be able to live it again.”

Milito then discussed how he felt on the morning of the final which he would go on to score both of Inter’s goals in.

“I had a good feeling. I tried to be calm and had the desire to do well. It was obviously a special game, we knew it was a unique opportunity for all of us.

“We were aware that we could win. We arrived with such confidence after the victories in the league and the Italian Cup. I woke up with desire and calmness. Luckily we had a great game.

“I’m lucky to have scored two goals in the final, but it was the victory of an extraordinary group. I arrived at Inter at the right time, with a group that had already won 4 league titles in a row.”

Milito proceeded to share his thoughts on San Siro, former Inter president and owner Massimo Moratti and who his favourite striker is.

“San Siro is a mythical place. It was a dream come true to play there from day one.

“Moratti? We all love him. After the final I was happy for him, he deserved that joy for all the sacrifices he had made for Inter. It filled my heart. He was an important person for us.

“I’ve always been in love with Ronaldo, the Brazilian one. He had strength, speed and scored goals. He had it all. he was one of the best ever.”

He also spoke further on Jose Mourinho, who is now in charge of Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur.

“He is one of the best managers I ever had. First of all because he really wanted me at Inter, and then because he always gave me great confidence.

“He is much more than a great communicator, he was very capable of understanding the moments of the players and the team. I learned a lot from him, in that year he was fundamental.”

Inter Fined Close To €10,000 For Fans Behaviour In Recent Match Away To Ludogorets

Inter have been slapped with a fine of almost €10,000 as a result of the behaviour of some fans in the away leg of their Europa League last 32 match-up against Ludogorets.

The Nerazzurri took on the reigning Bulgarian champions on February 20 at the Ludogorets Arena in Razgrad and would win the match 2-0 with thanks to goals from Romelu Lukaku and Christian Eriksen.

However, the behaviour of some fans that night has cost the club a sum of €9500. Inter have been fined after some fans let off smoke bombs in the stands and also committed acts of vandalism although it is not specified exactly what the offending fans did.

Inter would win the return leg of the fixture 2-1 at San Siro and progress to the next round of the competition thanks to a 4-1 aggregate scoreline.

Inter were then drawn against Spanish outfit Getafe but due to the Coronavirus crisis the first leg was postponed and it remains a mystery as to when the first and second legs will be carried out, if at all.
