Italian Report Lists 2 Reasons Why Parma’s Sepe Favourite To Become Back-Up To Handanovic At Inter

Parma’s Luigi Sepe is currently the favourite to become the back-up goalkeeper to Samir Handanovic at Inter according to a report in today’s print edition of Tuttosport.

Inter have also drawn strong links to Udinese’s Juan Musso whilst it has been suggested that the Nerazzurri may even call upon Ionut Andrei Radu who is already on their books.

As per the report from the Turin based newspaper, there is currently two reasons as to why Sepe is ahead of Musso and Radu in the race to be the deputy to Handanovic.

The first reason is that he has plenty of experience as a starter and as a back-up goalkeeper and the second reason is that he would be a lot cheaper than Musso, who Udinese are understood to be demanding a sum of no less than €30 million for.

This season 28-year-old Sepe has made 22 appearances across all competitions, in which he has conceded 28 goals and kept a total of five clean sheets.

Inter To Reject Chance To Extend Alexis Sanchez’s Loan From Manchester United

Inter are set to reject the opportunity to extend Alexis Sanchez’s loan deal for a further season according to a report from British news outlet The Telegraph.

The Chilean national team forward joined Inter on a season long loan from Premier League club Manchester United this past Summer but having failed to live up to expectations he looks set to return to Old Trafford come the end of the season.

The report explains that Sanchez has proved to be a popular character in the team but his performances have not been up to scratch on the pitch and a serious ankle injury which sidelined him for a number of months certainly has not helped him out.

31-year-old Sanchez has made 15 appearances across all competitions for Inter this term although he has been on the pitch for just 596 minutes in total. The former Arsenal man has scored one goal and provided three assists for his teammates.

Inter Could Acquire Bayern Munich’s Tolisso & Napoli’s Allan Via Swap Deals

Inter could conduct swap deals with Bayern Munich and Napoli to acquire Corentin Tolisso and Allan in the upcoming Summer transfer window according to a report in today’s print edition of Tuttosport.

When it comes to 2018 World Cup winner Tolisso, Inter could offer cash plus Ivan Perisic, who is already out on loan at the Bavarian club.

Bayern Munich are understood to want rid of Tolisso whilst they are also believed to want to keep a hold of Perisic who has contributed five goals and eight assists in 22 appearances for them.

As for Allan, the Brazilian midfielder looks destined to depart Napoli in the coming months. In the January transfer window there was talk of a possible swap deal that would have seen Matias Vecino head to the Stadio San Paolo and Tuttosport report that this swap could well take place this Summer.

Due to the differing values of the two players, Inter will also have to add some cash on top of Vecino.

Inter & AC Milan To Battle It Out For Sporting Goalkeeper Luis Maximiano

Inter and AC Milan are both interested in Sporting youngster Luis Maximiano according to a report in today’s print edition of Portuguese newspaper O Jogo.

The 21-year-old goalkeeper has broken into the first team of the Portuguese giants this term and he has been virtually ever present in between the sticks for Sporting since around the end of November.

Maximiano is a Portuguese youth national team player at under 21 level and he has a contract with the Estádio José Alvalade club until the end of the 2022/23 season.

The report does not give any indication however as to how much either of the Milanese clubs may have to spend to acquire him.

Maximiano is just the latest in a long line of goalkeepers to have been linked with Inter who are on the look-out for a new back-up goalkeeper capable of eventually taking over from current number one Samir Handanovic.

Inter have also been linked with Udinese’s Juan Musso, Parma’s Luigi Sepe and Benfica’s Odysseas Vlachodimos.

Valencia Join Manchester United & Tottenham In Showing An Interest In Inter’s Diego Godin

Valencia have sparked an interest in signing Inter centre back Diego Godin according to a report from Spanish news outlet Mundo Deportivo.

Godin has struggled to live up to expectations since his arrival at Inter on a free transfer this past Summer after his contract with Atletico Madrid expired.

The highly experienced Uruguayan national team defender has particularly struggled to adapt to Antonio Conte’s three man defensive system having almost exclusively played in a back four for all of his career.

The report goes on to add that Valencia are not alone in being interested in Godin with Premier League duo Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur both also keen on adding him to their ranks.

Moreover, it states that Godin is considering a change of scenery but a return to Spain is not in his plans for the time being as he does not want to play for another Spanish club other than Atletico Madrid.

This season Godin has made 25 appearances across all competitions to date. In just over 1900 minutes on the field, he has contributed a single assist and helped the team keep seven clean sheets too.

FIGC President Gravina: “We’re Waiting For UEFA & FIFA & On Wednesday We’ll Know More”

Gabriele Gravina, the president of the Italian football federation (FIGC), has confirmed that there will be more clarity on whether or not the season can resume after Wednesday’s meeting with UEFA.

Serie A has been on hold for a number of weeks now and some clubs have as many as 13 games left to play in the league whilst others could play around 20 more games this term depending on their progression in other competitions.

European football’s governing body are due to meet with representatives of their 55 member associations, FIFPro and the European Club Association to try and come up with solutions for how the season could be concluded, if at all given the current circumstances.

“On Wednesday the calendars will be discussed in a summit with the 55 federations. There will be concrete proposals,” Gravina, who has held his position since October 2018, told Italian television network 7 Gold.

“Overcoming the deadline of 30 June entails a series of reflections connected to contracts, deadlines, renewals and the transfer market. We are waiting for both UEFA and FIFA, and on Wednesday we will know something more.”

He then went on to add that, “twice a week we [Italian football federation] meet and discuss a series of problems related to the future, from national licenses to wages.”

Gravina concluded by revealing that the Italian football federation have been planning reforms of the league format for some time.

“From here to June we must strive to gain new ideas and make our sport more attractive. We have been working on it since January. We were working on league reform to involve our fans more directly.”

FIGC Want Fund Created To Mitigate Financial Damage Caused By Coronavirus Pandemic

The Italian football federation (FIGC) have launched the idea of a ‘save football’ fund amid the ongoing Coronavirus crisis according to a report in today’s print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport.

It has been estimated that Serie A could lose as much as €800 million in the worst case scenario which would be that the 2019/20 season does not resume due to the ongoing global pandemic.

Clubs and the league are understandably concerned about this potentially massive financial blow and for this reason the FIGC would like to try and mitigate financial damage through the creation of a fund.

Reigning Italian champions Juventus have already made cost-cutting measures in the shape of agreeing with their players for them to waive their salaries for the months of March, April, May and June. It is understood that these measures will save the Bianconeri some €90 million.

The report from the Milan based newspaper goes on to state that this fund is unlikely to be part of the Italian government’s initial ‘Cure Italy’ decree but it could be part of the second phase of the decree.

Inter Owned Icardi Isn’t Juventus’ Top Striker Target For The Summer

Inter owned Mauro Icardi is not Juventus’ number one striker target for the upcoming Summer transfer window according to a report in today’s print edition of Tuttosport.

The 27-year-old Argentine is currently out on loan at reigning French champions Paris Saint Germain, who can buy him on a permanent basis for a sum of €70 million.

There has been no shortage of speculation in the media as of late which has suggested that PSG and Juventus could well conduct a swap deal involving Icardi and Miralem Pjanic but as per this report, Juventus have another striker in mind.

The report from the Turin based newspaper goes on to state that Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane is in fact Juventus’ number one striker target.

The Englishman has been one of the most prolific strikers in the world in the past few seasons and has drawn links to several clubs in recent weeks, including Inter.

Inter Willing To Offer Giroud & Vertonghen 2 Year Deals With Option For A Third Year

Inter have the same strategy when it comes to signing both Olivier Giroud and Jan Vertonghen in the upcoming Summer transfer window according to a report in today’s print edition of Tuttosport.

Both players contracts with their current employers are due to expire at the end of this season and Inter are ready to offer them both a two year contract with an option of a third year.

Giroud is understood to have already knocked back a contract extension offer from Chelsea that would have seen him stay for a further season whilst Vertonghen and his agent have both recently refused to rule anything out when it comes to his future.

The experienced French and Belgian national team players are just two of several players set to become free agents that Inter have been linked to with Napoli’s Dries Mertens and Borussia Dortmund’s Mario Gotze both also having been linked in the media in recent weeks and months among many others.
