Italian Media Argue Inter Players Still Don’t Understand Antonio Conte’s Tactics

A report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Corriere della Sera has suggested that Inter deserved to beat Napoli in last night’s 1-1 Coppa Italia draw but suffered in the second half.

The report details how the Nerazzurri started the game well thanks to Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen and his 2nd minute goal but the Nerazzurri didn’t take the opportunity to extend their lead and instead finished the first half still only 1-0 up.

The Nerazzurri’s best moments came in that first half, before Napoli understood how to mark Eriksen. In the second half Inter strikers Lautaro Martinez and Romelu Lukaku were both disappointing, the report continues, in part due to the fact that there were so many Nerazzurri players on the edge of the Napoli box, suffocating the duo.

Inter deserved to win the game but the squad seemingly employed the game plan requested by Conte but still don’t seem to genuinely understand the system, and instead only follow his exact instructions.

Italian Media Praises Christian Eriksen’s Performance In Inter’s Coppa Italia Exit To Napoli

A report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport has praised the performance of Inter midfielder Christian Eriksen in the Nerazzurri’s 1-1 draw against Napoli last night.

The report details how the Milanese club drew with the Partenopei in Naples last night, but the result was not enough to bring the team to the Coppa Italia finals next week, as Napoli held a 1-0 aggregate lead after beating Inter at the San Siro before the Coronavirus stop. Despite the disappointing result, Eriksen impressed throughout the game, scoring in the 2nd minute from a corner kick to put Inter ahead.

The player initially disappointed after arriving in Milan in January, the report continues, but the three-month stop has given him time to understand coach Antonio Conte’s tactical system and has given him a little more confidence on the pitch. Disappointingly for the Nerazzurri, despite Eriksen’s strong performance in the midfield department, the attacking partnership of Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez disappointed, failing to find the back of the net.

Inter CEO Beppe Marotta Prefers Bringing Radja Nainggolan Back Over Signing Barcelona’s Arturo Vidal

Inter CEO Beppe Marotta would prefer to reintegrate Radja Nainggolan into the squad, rather than signing Barcelona midfielder Arturo Vidal, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Turin based newspaper Tuttosport.

The report details how the 32-year-old Belgian midfielder was deemed surplus to requirements last summer by the Nerazzurri and was sent out on loan to Cagliari. The player has impressed in Sardinia this season and may have earnt his way back into the Milanese club’s good books.

Nainggolan would be difficult to sell in the summer, the report continues, considering that he is worth around €19.3 million and has a salary of €4.5 million, on a contract that lasts until 2022.

The 32-year-old could be an extra option to coach Antonio Conte and his abilities in midfield may prove crucial next season. The player would fit the tactical system of the Lecce born coach and would be happy to play under the former Chelsea and Juventus boss.

Spanish Media – Inter Must Decide Barcelona Target Lautaro Martinez’ Future To Avoid His Value Dropping

Inter must decide what will happen to striker Lautaro Martinez soon to avoid any potential devaluations, according to a report from Mundo Deportivo journalist Francesc Aguilar on Twitter earlier today.

The report details how the 22-year-old Argentine striker, who is contracted to the Nerazzurri until 2022, has promised coach Antonio Conte that he would finish the season with the Milanese club at his strongest, despite the interest from Barcelona. The Blaugrana are incredibly keen to sign Lautaro and believe that he would be the perfect replacement for the aging Luis Suarez.

Yesterday’s performance by Lautaro joined his last few before the Coronavirus stop, the report continues, sluggish and uninterested. Some are worried that a possible poor finish to the season by the 22-year-old could lower his value and help Barcelona in the negotiations for the player. Inter are still holding out for his €111 million release clause, but the Catalan club have so far appeared unable to pay this figure.

Italian Media Claims If Inter Sign Nice Defender Sarr On Free Transfer More Funds Can Be Spent On Tonali

Inter are looking to sign French defender Malang Sarr on a free transfer in the summer, allowing them to invest money into the deal for Brescia midfielder Sandro Tonali, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Turin based newspaper Tuttosport.

The report details how the 21-year-old French centre back’s contract will expire with Nice at the end of the month, allowing him to be signed on a free transfer. The player is worth around €20-25 million and so signing him on a free transfer allows the club to divert more funds to the deal for Tonali.

Signing Sarr would also allow the Nerazzurri to keep their promise with Hellas Verona, the report continues. The Milanese club could still sign Albanian talent Marash Kumbulla in the summer and then send him back to the Gialloblu on loan for next season, with Sarr joining the squad to strengthen the defensive department.

Inter Join Borussia Dortmund & Bayern Munich In Wanting To Sign Real Madrid’s Achraf Hakimi

Inter are one of the many clubs interested in signing Real Madrid owned full back Achraf Hakimi, according to a report from Spanish broadcaster Onda Cero earlier today, as reported by Italian media outlet FcInterNews.

The report details how the Nerazzurri and Bayern Munich have both put forward a serious offer for the 21-year-old Spaniard, who is currently on loan at Borussia Dortmund from Real Madrid. Both German sides and Inter want to sign the player but he would cost €60 million, a large figure considering the current financial climate.

Real Madrid are not interested in keeping Hakimi, the report continues, as Dani Carvajal is preferred in that role. It will be up to coach Zinedine Zidane to choose whether to reintegrate the 21-year-old Spanish full back into the squad or to sell him in the summer.

Hakimi is contracted to Los Blancos until 2022, and so this summer may be the Spanish side’s last chance to sell the player for a large fee.

Italian Media Blame Lautaro Martinez’ Poor Performance Vs Napoli On Barcelona Links

Inter striker Lautaro Martinez disappointed into the Nerazzurri’s 1-1 draw against Napoli last night, with a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport suggesting that the player’s head has been turned by Barcelona.

The report details how the 22-year-old Argentine striker has long been at the centre of transfer market rumours, with Barcelona incredibly keen to sign the player, who they believe would be the perfect replacement for the aging Luis Suarez. Lautaro didn’t impress last night and was seemingly playing a different game than the rest on the pitch.

The 22-year-old didn’t resemble the player he did before the Coronavirus stop, the report continues, and now it’s up to coach Antonio Conte to bring out the best in Lautaro in the remaining games of the season. Considering the more exciting play of Alexis Sanchez in last night’s game, it’s possible the Chilean could overtake Lautaro in the starting 11.

Italian Media Lists 3 Reasons Why Lazio Lead Inter In Race To Sign Hellas Verona’s Marash Kumbulla

Lazio are hoping to secure the signature of Inter target Marash Kumbulla and have three advantages over their competition, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

The report details how Hellas Verona want €35 million for the 20-year-old Albanian defender, who has impressed in his first season in Serie A.

The Gialloblu would be willing to accept a player in exchange. Lazio are hoping to steal the player from under Inter’s grasp and secure his signature in the summer, with three advantages helping them in the fight.

The first is that Kumbulla is used to playing on the left side of a three-man defence, the report continues, a role currently held by Stefan Radu, whose contract expires with the Roman side in 2021. This would give him significantly more playing time compared to joining Inter or Juventus, where he would have to fight harder for a starting spot.

The second advantage is that he already has two compatriots at Lazio, Igli Tare and Thomas Strakosha, which could help him settle in more easily. The final advantage is that Lazio president Claudio Lotito has a good relationship with the Hellas Verona president Setti.

Italian Media Report Inter To Offer Nice Defender Malan Sarr A 4 Year Contract

Inter have a four-year contract ready to offer French defender Malang Sarr, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Turin based newspaper Tuttosport.

The report details how the Nerazzurri are keen to sign the 21-year-old Nice defender, who will be a free agent at the end of the month, perfect for the current financial climate.

The centre back quickly became captain of the club despite his young age and impressed in both the centre and on the left of the defence. Inter coach Antonio Conte would be able to work with and grow the player well, despite his lack of experience in a three-man defence.

The Milanese club are looking to strengthen their defence in the upcoming summer transfer window, the report continues, and young talents like Sarr or Hellas Verona defender Marash Kumbulla are the perfect targets for the Nerazzurri, as they have a mixture of strong qualities and high potential.

Inter Can Only Sign Barcelona’s Arturo Vidal If Radja Nainggolan Is Sold In The Summer

Inter have no interest in including Chilean midfielder Arturo Vidal in the deal for Nerazzurri striker Lautaro Martinez, with Radja Nainggolan potentially able to fill that hole in the squad, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Turin based newspaper Tuttosport.

The report details how the Nerazzurri have been close to the 33-year-old Chilean midfielder for some time now, with coach Antonio Conte being a big fan of the former Juventus and Bayern Munich midfielder.

The Milanese club have no interest in having the player included in the deal for the 22-year-old Lautaro, as they know that the Blaugrana would overvalue the player.

Inter may still reintegrate Nainggolan into the squad, the report continues, as it would be difficult to sell him in the summer, considering he is worth almost €20 million and has a salary of €4.5 million, with a contract expiring in 2022. The Milanese club would only consider Vidal again if they manage to include the Belgian midfielder into a possible deal for Fiorentina talisman Federico Chiesa.
