French Journalist Laurens: “I’m Not Buying These Pogba To Inter Links, Inter Can’t Afford Him”

French football journalist Julien Laurens has downplayed recent reports which have seen Manchester United and France midfielder Paul Pogba linked with a move to Inter this Summer.

Reports in the media in recent weeks have suggested that Inter could make a move for Pogba in the upcoming Summer transfer window but Laurens, who works for French newspaper Le Parisien, believes that the 2018 World Cup winner is out of reach for the Nerazzurri.

“I’m not buying this at all,” Laurens said in relation to the circulating rumours during an interview with broadcaster ESPN.

“Although, the reunion between himself and Conte – who was an influence on his career at Juve – could be an idea, there’s no way Inter will go for him. I don’t think Inter will be able to afford him anyway.”

Pogba has also drawn links to Paris Saint Germain, Real Madrid and Juventus in recent weeks and a report today has suggested that his value has plummeted as a result of all that is going on in the world at the moment.

This season Pogba has barely played as a result of serious injury. He has appeared just eight times for Manchester United and in 610 minutes on the field the 27-year-old has provided two assists for his teammates.

Italian Sports Minister Spadafora: “We Hope The Season Resumes Soon But It’s Impossible To Give A Date”

Italian government minister for sport and youth policies has admitted he hopes the green light for football to return can be given soon but admits it is impossible to say when football could return at the time being.

Football, as well as all sports in Italy, have been on hold for just shy of two months as a result of the ongoing global Coronavirus pandemic, the worst of which appears to have passed in Italy, which has now entered into phase two of the recovery process.

Whilst athletes are now able to make the most of training facilities on an individual basis, it still remains to be seen when the season could resume.

“The FIGC has proposed a protocol, which the technical-scientific committee will evaluate tomorrow,” Spadafora explained during a session in parliament earlier on today.

“We hope the green light can be given, even if football’s a sport where there is no possibility of avoiding contact and the use of protective tools isn’t envisaged.

“In the last few days, even organised fans have condemned the idea of resuming the campaign,” he continued.

“I refer to Europe, where the only certain dates given have been from countries that have decided to stop their seasons. Even England, which seemed the readiest, postponed the decision to resume training only a week ago.”

He went on to insist that it is currently not possible for a date to be given and any date will depend entirely on the way the contagion curve goes in the coming weeks.

“I repeat my stance, which also applies to the government: we hope the season resumes soon, but right now it’s still impossible to give a date. We have to see how the contagion curve will develop in the next two weeks.”

Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte: “We’ll Gather The Serie A Owners & Sports Minist er Spadafora Together To Take Stock Of The Situation”

Italian prime minister Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Conte has revealed he wants to give stakeholders in football and all other sports in the country the chance to confront the government.

Sports across the country have been on hold for around about two months now as a result of the ongoing global Coronavirus pandemic, the worst of which seems to have passed in Italy.

Italy has now entered into phase two of the recovery process and athletes, including footballers, are now able to make the most of training facilities again on an individual basis.

It still remains to be seen however when teams will be able to all train together and if the seasons, all of which are currently on hold, will be able to resume and then finish.

“We will gather the sports world and football, together with minister of sport Spadafora, to take stock of the situation,” he explained in an interview with Italian newspaper Fatto Quotidiano, which appeared in today’s print edition.

“We will collect the requests from the Federcalcio and other federations to get a shared picture of the recovery of sports activities.”

Conte, who has served as prime minister since June 2018, went on to add: “I still haven’t dealt with football, but we will listen and agree.

“Minister Spadafora has done an excellent job, but it’s right to let all the stakeholders of football and sport confront the government at the highest levels, obviously bearing in mind the recommendations of the technical scientific committee.”

Inter Will Wait Until End Of Season Before Deciding To Sign Chelsea’s Victor Moses Or Not

Inter will wait until the end of the season before taking a decision on whether to activate their option to buy on loan defender Victor Moses according to a report from British broadcaster Sky Sports.

Moses joined the Nerazzurri club in a six month loan deal in the most recent January transfer window with Inter obtaining an option to sign him outright from Chelsea for a sum of €12 million

The Nigerian national team player is out of contract with the Premier League side at the end of next season and the report goes on to claim that Inter are not willing to spend big on a player whose contract will be up in little over 12 months time.

Some reports elsewhere in the media have suggested that the only way that Moses will remain with Inter past the end of this season is if Chelsea and Inter can agree to a loan extension.
