Lack Of Champions League Football & Current Revenue Losses Complicate Manchester City’s Pursuit Of Inter Defender Skriniar

Manchester City’s chances of signing Inter defender Milan Skriniar in the upcoming Summer transfer window have become complicated according to a report from Italian news outlet CalcioMercato.com.

The reigning Premier League champions are very interested in signing the Slovakian national team defender but the report claims that their lack of Champions League football and the revenue that they are losing as a result of the current crisis situation worldwide have really made things complicated.

Skriniar is considered to be essential to the team by Inter management but the Nerazzurri club could be convinced to part ways with him if they are to receive an offer in the region of €70 million.

The 25-year-old has been with Inter since the Summer of 2017 and during his time with the club he has cemented himself as one of the best defenders in Europe.

This season Skriniar has made 32 appearances across all competitions to date in which he has provided a single assist.

Inter Primavera Captain Schiro: “Playing For Inter Is A Source Of Great Pride For Me, I Try To Learn From Marcelo Brozovic”

In an interview with Italian news outlet PassioneInter.com, Inter Primavera prospect Thomas Schiro has spoken on a range of topics and started by discussing what it means to him to be playing for a team such as Inter.

“When I wore this shirt in my first training sessions with the club I realised the incredible luck that I had. Playing for Inter is a source of great pride for me and pushes me to always give me best for the club and its history,” he explained.

He then went on to reveal who he looked up to when he was even younger and revealed that he also tries to improve by looking at some Inter first team members, namely Marcelo Brozovic.

“In the past two years I have played mainly as a midfielder, but I have had the opportunity to try different roles. Since childhood, however, I have always had a great admiration for Zinedine Zidane.

“Growing up I didn’t have a particular player to follow, but I watch videos of many important players such as Cambiasso and Xavi. I also try to steal as many secrets from Brozovic as possible, but I also often watch Barella and Vecino.”

Next the youngster, who is the captain of the Primavera side, spoke on what it was like to work under former Inter Primavera manager Stefano Vecchi.

“Vecchi was fundamental for me and for my growth. Thanks to him I improved my aggression. He also helped me understand the importance of knowing how to play multiple roles and improving in any aspect of the game, because everything is useful.”

The 19-year-old then discussed what it has been like to work under current Inter Primavera boss Armando Madonna.

“He too has been fundamental in my growth, because he taught me to have more confidence in myself, which has been decisive. He also made me understand that I had to take more responsibility both on and off the field.”

The Italian youth national team player proceeded to discuss what it has been like to sometimes work with Inter manager Antonio Conte and the first team.

“I have been lucky enough to train with the first team several times. During these sessions I noticed his great attention to detail. He sees things that I do not think others would notice. He has a great desire to win. I really liked what he said to me and he often tells us young players to have confidence and passion.”

He then recalled how it felt to be included in a Europa League squad under former Inter manager Luciano Spalletti.

“It was truly an incredible thing to get to experience the atmosphere of the first team and such an important competition. I had mixed emotions that are difficult to explain.”

Schiro, who has been with Inter for seven years now, also spoke on former Primavera teammate Sebastiano Esposito, who has had a first team breakthrough this season.

“Seba is very strong. He has a devastating shot and a determination to admire. We were lucky enough to have him as a team mate.”

Inter Legend Boninsegna: “I Will Be Very Annoyed If Mauro Icardi Sigs For Juventus”

Former Inter striker Roberto Boninsegna has admitted that he is a big fan of Inter’s current strike force of Lautaro Martinez and Romelu Lukaku although he also admitted that he was initially doubtful about the partnership.

Lautaro and Lukaku have struck up a solid partnership in their first season together with Inter having combined for 39 goals between them. Lukaku has grabbed 23 of those and Lautaro has the other 16 and the duo were showing an improvement every week when playing together.

“I like Lautaro and Lukaku, they have a perfect understanding with one another. They have integrated as well as me and Bettega,” he explained in an interview with Milan based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, which appeared in today’s print edition.

“I must confess that at the beginning I was skeptical because I like Icardi so much and I was sorry when he left but now I hope that Lautaro does not leave Inter. And I would be very annoyed if Icardi signed for Juventus.”

Boninsegna joined Inter in 1969 from Cagliari and went on to spend a total of seven years with the Nerazzurri. The now 76-year-old, who won one Serie A title with the club, was absolutely prolific with him netting no less than 171 goals in 280 appearances across all competitions before leaving for Inter’s arch rivals Juventus.

Jonathan Biabiany: “Scoring For Inter In The Club World Cup Final Was The Best Moment Of My Career”

Former Inter winger Jonathan Biabiany has revealed he will always have an affiliation to Inter and that the best moment of his football career came whilst on the Nerazzurri’s books.

“I have had three spells with Inter in my career. Inter were the club who brought me to Italy and I will always have an affiliation to Inter,” he explained in an Instagram live chat with Italian news outlet CalcioMercato.com earlier on today.

“The goal I scored for Inter in the Club World Cup final was the best moment of the my career. I had many extraordinary teammates at Inter and I think of Javier Zanetti in particular, he was a leader. I can only speak well of Inter.”

The Frenchman, who is currently on the book of Serie B outfit Trapani, then recalled the time when he found out he had an issue with his heart, which came during a medical with Inter’s cross city rivals AC Milan.

“I remember the day well, it was August 31 2014. The day before I had played a game and then the next day I went to Milan to do my medical. An agreement had already been reached and I had already taken photos with the shirt and the scarf.

“Then the world fell on me when it was found out that I had cardiac arrhythmia. I feared for my career, I thought I had to stop playing but the doctors reassured me and although it took time I came back.

“Do I regret not getting to join AC Milan? I have no regrets about my career. I believe in God and if I did not go to AC Milan it was right.”

He then spoke on his infamous comment he made recently that Frank de Boer was the worst manager in Inter’s rich history.

“I simply answered a reporters question. I was asked if the Dutchman could be considered the worst coach in Inter’s history and I answered yes. I think he is. He turned so many people against him. Relationships in football are fundamental.”

The now 32-year-old made a total of 50 appearances during his multiple spells with Inter in which he scored two goals and provided seven assists. As well as winning the Club World Cup in 2010, he also won a single Coppa Italia with Inter.

Ionut Radu Could Become Inter’s Back Up Goalkeeper Or Used In A Transfer To Secure A Back Up

In today’s print edition, Tuttosport have examined the situations of several Inter owned goalkeepers ahead of the upcoming Summer transfer window.

Current back up goalkeeper Daniele Padelli could become the third choice goalkeeper in place of Tomasso Berni, who could retire and as per another recent report could become a coach at Inter.

Ionut Andrei Radu, who is currently out on loan at Parma, could return to Inter and fulfil the back up goalkeeper role but he could also be used as part of an exchange deal for another shot-stopper who could take up that role such as Parma’s Luigi Sepe.

Gabriel Brazao, who is currently out on loan at Spanish Segunda Division side, will return to Inter but will not be sticking around with the report from the Turin based newspaper claiming that Inter will loan him out again next season to help aid him in his development as a player.

Ex-Barcelona & AC Milan Sporting Director Braida: “Barcelona Like Inter’s Lautaro Martinez Very Much”

Former Barcelona and AC Milan sporting director Ariedo Braida has shared his views on Barcelona’s widely reported interest in signing Inter striker Lautaro Martinez this Summer.

Reports in Italian and Spanish media have linked the Blaugrana club with the highly rated 22-year-old for some time now and there are almost daily updates on the situation.

Barcelona have seemingly identified the Argentine national team forward as their number one transfer target ahead of the Summer transfer window.

Lautaro has a €111 million release clause in his current contract with Inter but Barcelona do not wish to pay this and would instead like to do a player(s) plus cash deal for him.

Some reports have stated Inter will not entertain such a deal and will only let Lautaro go if his release clause is met whilst others have claimed Inter will accept a deal on that basis so long as there is €90 million in cash as part of it.

“Barcelona very much like Lautaro. It is a very particular moment and it will be necessary to evaluate the numbers of a potential deal and the needs of the clubs,” he explained in an interview with Tuttosport, which appeared in today’s print edition.

“In order to buy, beyond the interest for a player, there must be the right conditions. We will see what will happen.”

Borja Valero’s Agent: “I’ve Not Spoken With Inter About A Contract Renewal, He’d Be Very Happy If Inter Renew His Contract”

In an interview with Italian news outlet FCInter1908.it, Borja Valero’s agent Alejandro Camano has confirmed that he is yet to hold talks with Inter over a new contract for his client.

“Borja is doing very well. He is at home, like all of Italy and he is sad about the great suffering of the country that has given him so much affection,” he began the interview.

He was then asked about his client’s relationship with former Italian national team and current Inter manager Antonio Conte.

“They have an excellent relationship. Borja speaks very intimately with the coach, the relationship is very good and professional, Borja did what he had to do, humbly accepted his situation and worked to change it.”

Next he was asked whether he has held any talks with Inter over a new contract for his client and whether the possible resumption of the season could affect things.

“No. For the moment we haven’t talked about anything. There is a lot of uncertainty about the future, we will see what will happen.”

He was then asked if he is aware if his client has given any advice to teammate Lautaro Martinez, who continues to be linked with Barcelona.

“I don’t know if they have talked about this but Borja thinks that Lautaro is about to become one of the most important players in the world.”

Next he was asked how his client would feel if Inter were to give him a new contract.

“Borja will be very happy if Inter decide to renew his contract.”

In conclusion he was asked if he is expecting a call from Inter.

“Everything will be done at the right time, today the important thing is that the number of deaths and infected people decreases in Italy, Spain and the rest of the world. Personal situations take a back seat. The important thing is to get out of the health situation, so football can start again.”

This season the 35-year-old has made 15 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored two goals.
