Lega Serie A Set June 14 Deadline To Resume 2019/20 Serie A Season

Lega Serie A have set a deadline of June 14 to resume the 2019/20 season according to a report from Italian news agency ANSA.

Due to the ongoing global Coronavirus pandemic, the season has been on hold for close to two months now and if the season cannot be resumed by the above date then the remainder of the season will just be cancelled.

In the past few days, Italian prime minister Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Conte announced that individual sports will be allowed to resume training starting from May 4 whilst teams will be allowed to return to training as a group from May 18.

However, Italian minister for sport Vincenzo Spadafora has since contradicted Conte and there is now a lot of confusion regarding when teams can return to full training which has cast doubt over whether the season can resume.

A report elsewhere in the Italian media today has claimed that if the season has to be cancelled no title will be assigned and the top six teams will be entered into European competitions.

Ghanaian Media Reports Fenerbahce Offer Inter’s Kwadwo Asamoah A Two Year Deal

Fenerbahce have made a contract proposal to Inter defender Kwadwo Asamoah according to a report from Ghanaian news outlet ghanasoccer.net.

The Turkish Super Lig giants have taken a keen interest in signing the experienced Ghanaian defender and have offered him a two year contract with the same terms he is currently on with Inter.

Asamoah, who has also been linked to Watford lately, still has just over a year left on his current contract with Inter but could well be allowed to leave the club in the upcoming Summer transfer window.

The former Udinese player joined Inter on a three year deal from arch rivals Juventus in the Summer of 2018 and played regularly in his first season but has rarely played this term due to a knee problem.

The 31-year-old has been limited to just 11 appearances across all competitions due to the injury and in 899 minutes on the field he has contributed a single assist.

Torino Open To Swapping Armando Izzo For Inter’s Roberto Gagliardini

Torino would not be opposed to swapping defender Armando Izzo for Inter midfielder Roberto Gagliardini in the upcoming Summer transfer window according to a report in today’s print edition of Tuttosport.

Izzo has emerged as a transfer target for Inter in recent weeks as reports regarding Diego Godin’s future with the club persist and the Nerazzurri may be able to acquire him in a swap deal.

Torino are on the lookout for some midfield reinforcements ahead of the transfer window and have identified AC Milan’s Giacomo Bonaventura and Inter’s Gagliardini as potential reinforcements.

Gagliardini is not on the transfer list at Inter but is certainly not deemed indispensable and therefore the Nerazzurri and Granata could well do a swap deal involving him and Izzo in the coming months.

This season Gagliardini has made 16 appearances across all competitions in which he has scored two goals and assisted just as many. Izzo meanwhile has three goals in 29 appearances for Torino this term.

Player Agent Morabito On Inter Linked Napoli Striker Dries Mertens: “Chelsea Manager Lampard Calls Him Almost Every Day”

Vincenzo Morabito, a transfer intermediary, has claimed that Chelsea manager Frank Lampard is in almost constant contact with Dries Mertens over a potential transfer to the club.

The Premier League outfit tried and failed to land Mertens in the most recent January transfer window and as per Morabito they have not given up in their pursuit to sign him on a free transfer.

Mertens contract with Napoli is due to expire in a matter of months and he has also drawn links to both Inter and AS Monaco in the media in recent weeks.

“Chelsea have extended Giroud’s contract but they are very interested in Mertens and Lampard is calling him almost every day. I can see Mertens going to Chelsea,” he remarked during an interview with Italian radion station Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli earlier on today.

Morabito also spoke on reports that have claimed Edinson Cavani’s agents have offered his services to a number of clubs, including Inter, due to the fact his contract with Paris Saint Germain is due to expire at the end of this season.

“I spoke to the people who are looking after his interests and it seems to me he will sign on for another year with PSG. The alternative would be Atletico Madrid.”

Real Madrid Interested In Signing €48M Rated Inter Defender Milan Skriniar

Real Madrid have identified Inter defender Milan Skriniar as a possible reinforcement for their defence ahead of the upcoming Summer transfer window according to a report from Spanish news outlet fichajes.com.

Los Blancos are looking to strengthen their backline due to doubts they have about Jesus Vallejo and Nacho Fernandez and they think that Skriniar could bolster their defence.

Real Madrid previously showed an interest in signing the Slovakian national team defender but baulked at Inter’s €100 million demands for the 25-year-old.

The report from fichajes.com goes on to claim that due to all that is going on in the world now Skriniar’s value, like pretty much every player’s, has plummeted and now he has a value of €48 million.

This season Skriniar has made 32 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has provided a single assist for his teammates.

Aside from Skriniar, the report goes on to add that RB Leipzig’s Dayot Upamecano is also on Real Madrid’s radar.

Inter Prefer RB Leipzig’s Timo Werner Over PSG’s Edinson Cavani Due To Younger Age of German Strike r

Inter are more interested in signing younger players as opposed to Paris Saint Germain’s Edinson Cavani according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sport Mediaset aired today.

Werner aside, other reports in the media have linked Inter with the likes of Manchester United’s Anthony Martial and Lille’s Victor Osimhen among others.
