Edinson Cavani’s Former Agent: “He’s Always Hungry For Goals, I Don’t Know Inter’s Plans But It’ll Not Be Simple To Do A Deal”

Claudio Anelucci, the former agent of Inter linked Edinson Cavani, has shared his belief that it will not be easy for Inter to acquire him.

In the past few days and weeks Cavani has been linked with a move to Inter in the upcoming Summer transfer on the basis of a free transfer.

The Paris Saint Germain and Uruguay star’s current deal with the Parc des Princes club is due to expire at the end of this season and it appears more likely than not that he will walk free from the club.

Reports have suggested that Cavani’s agents have offered him to Inter and a report has even suggested that Cavani himself has offered his services to the Nerazzurri club.

“He has not had major injuries, he is still intact and above all he is an animal from a mental point of view, he is always hungry for goals. I don’t know what Inter’s plans are but if they already have Lukaku, Martinez and Sanchez then a deal for Cavani is not simple,” he explained in an interview with Italian radio station Radio Sportiva.

This season the 33-year-old has made 22 appearances across all competitions to date. In just shy of 1100 minutes on the park, he has scored seven goals and has provided three assists for his teammates.

Massimo Moratti: “If It Weren’t For Injuries Ronaldo Might’ve Stayed At Inter”

In an interview with Italian radio station Radio 24 earlier on today, former Inter president and owner Massimo Moratti reminisced about the famous 1-0 loss to Barcelona which took place 10 years ago today.

Inter won the first leg in Milan 3-1 and despite spending the majority of the game with a man less due to Thiago Motta’s sending off, Inter defended for their lives and although they lost 1-0, the Nerazzurri progressed to the Champions League final with thanks to a 3-2 aggregate scoreline.

“It was the most exciting and the most valiant game. The fact we were left with 10 men for so long and I think quite unfairly, gave the players an incredible charge. It was a fantastic game for everyone,” Moratti began the interview.

“Did we win the Champions League last night? I would say yes. I knew Mourinho, who was a student of Van Gaal, knew Bayern Munich’s game. It was difficult against them in Madrid but Barcelona were the biggest obstacle.”

Samuel Eto’o ended up playing full back against Barcelona and Moratti shared his thoughts on the Cameroonian who proved pivotal for Inter that whole season.

“Eto’o was special. He is someone with class and style. He is a proud boy and that evening he was wonderful.”

Next he claimed that Ronaldo could have stayed with Inter had it not been for his well documented injury problems.

“Honestly the injuries were an injustice because he would have had an even brighter career, and perhaps he would have stayed at Inter.”

In conclusion he spoke on whether he thinks the 2019/20 Serie A season should resume or not.

“We have to prepare for the new season, chasing this one is dangerous and a waste of time. The crisis has forced the whole world to rethink things.”

Lega Serie A Examining Impact Of Cancelling The 2019/2020 Serie A Season

Lega Serie A are in the process of examining the potential impact that cancelling the remainder of the 2019/20 Serie A season could have according to a report in today’s print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport.

In the event the season is cancelled, there will be no title awarded and the top six clubs will be Italy’s representatives in European competitions next term.

It remains to be seen what will happen with relegation with two ideas currently being examined. The first would see no relegation take place and two promoted from Serie B making 22 teams in Serie A. The other idea is to relegate two and promote two and keep 20 teams in the league.

In terms of the financial side of things, there would be a significant impact with the report stating clubs and the league could lose a combined €700 million due to lost gate receipts and television revenue among other things.

The report from the Milan based newspaper goes on to add that wage cuts remains a hot topic at the moment and many clubs are evaluating how they can cut their players wages.

Ex-Inter President Massimo Moratti: “Should This Season Resume? I Think It’s More Useful To Focus On Next Season”

Former Inter president and owner Massimo Moratti has given an insight into the transfer policy that was in place during his tenure in charge of Inter.

Moratti purchased a controlling stake in Inter back in 1995 and was the club’s majority shareholder up until 2013 when Indonesian tycoon Erick Thohir became the club’s majority shareholder.

Moratti maintained some shares in the club upon Thohir becoming majority shareholder and he sold his remaining shares in the club in 2016 when Inter’s current owners Suning took over from Thohir.

“Let’s say there was a sort of unwritten rule, I let the managers choose a couple of players and I did the rest. The manager I satisfied most of all? Lippi, I think I signed almost all players that he asked me for,” he remarked in an interview with Italian news outlet CalcioMercato.com.

Moratti, who has not come back into the footballing world despite reportedly having had many opportunities to do so at lower league clubs, then shared his view on whether the currently postponed 2019/20 Serie A season should be resumed.

The season has been on hold for around six weeks now due to the ongoing global Coronavirus pandemic and reports have suggested that the season could resume at the end of next month or the start of June.

“I think it is more useful to focus on the next season,” he concluded.

Di Marzio: “Inter & Arsenal Aren’t In Talks Over Aubameyang”

Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio has confirmed that Inter are not in talks with Arsenal over Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang currently but has refused to rule out the possibility that talks could take place.

In the past few weeks the Gabon national team forward has been linked with Inter as a result of the continued links Lautaro Martinez has drawn to Spanish giants Barcelona.

As per reports in the media, Inter will move for Aubameyang in the event that Lautaro is to depart the club in the coming months and some reports have stated Aubameyang could be signed for as little as €35 million as Arsenal are absolutely desperate to avoid losing him for nothing the following Summer.

“The Nerazzurri club are not talking about him with Arsenal, there has been no official contact. I cannot deny that he could become a target in the future,” Di Marzio explained in a question and answer session with Sky Sport Italia earlier on tonight.

This season Aubameyang has made 32 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored 20 goals and also provided a single assist.

Inter Aren’t In Talks With PSG’s Cavani & Have Other Ideas For The Attack

There are no negotiations ongoing between Inter and Edinson Cavani over a possible Summer transfer window move according to a report from Italian news outlet FCInterNews.it.

Reports in the past days have strongly linked the former Napoli man with a move to the Nerazzurri and many reports have claimed Cavani’s representatives have offered him to Inter and other clubs in a bid to find him a new club.

Cavani’s current contract with Paris Saint Germain is due to expire at the end of this season meaning he could well be acquired on a free transfer.

Despite the fact Cavani is likely to be available, Inter have not moved away from their current plans for the attack. Inter would like to bring in Dries Mertens on a free transfer to bolster the attack.

Even if Lautaro Martinez is to depart the club amid continued links to Barcelona, Inter will not go for Cavani and will move for Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Only in the event Inter lose Lautaro and are unable to do a deal with Arsenal for Aubameyang would Inter then possibly consider a move for Cavani.
