Lazio Closing In On Signing Hellas Verona Defender & Inter Target Marash Kumbulla

There has been a turning point in negotiations between Lazio and Hellas Verona over highly rated young defender Marash Kumbulla according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Tuttosport.

Lazio have been courting the Italian born Albanian national team for some time now and the feeling is that a deal will soon be done.

The reason for this is because there has been movement on the counterpart front. Initially Lazio were prepared to let Hellas Verona choose from Cristiano Lombardi, Fabio Maistro and Valon Berisha but now the most likely to move to the Gialloblu club is Andre Anderson.

Lazio appear set to win the race to land Kumbulla for €20 million plus a player and look to have beaten Inter among a host of other clubs to Kumbulla, who is widely regarded as one of the best young players in Serie A at the moment.

This season he has made 23 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored a single goal.

Antonio Conte Wants Inter To Sign Both Brescia’s Sandro Tonali & Barcelona’s Arturo Vidal

Inter manager Antonio Conte’s first aim for the upcoming transfer window is to strengthen the midfield department according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Tuttosport.

The former Italian national team boss would like both Brescia’s Sandro Tonali and Barcelona’s Arturo Vidal brought to the club. There will also be some departures in the midfield with the report explaining that Borja Valero, Roberto Gagliardini and Matias Vecino could all depart.

Valero will leave when his contract with the club expires whilst Inter could use Gagliardini as part of a bid to sign Torino’s Armando Izzo. As for Vecino, he has interest in his services from Premier League and La Liga clubs.

The report adds that Conte would also like a new left wing back signed as well as a striker to bolster the attacking options.

He wants Chelsea’s Emerson Palmieri for left wing back and his teammate Olivier Giroud is the current favourite for the attack.

Inter In Control As Barcelona Target Lautaro Martinez’ €111M Buy Out Clause Expires Midnight Tonight

Time has run out for Lautaro Martinez’s dream of moving to Barcelona according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

At midnight tonight the player’s €111 million release clause will expire and that will seemingly spell the end of Barcelona’s pursuit of the 22-year-old.

Barcelona have never come close to meeting Inter’s demands for the Argentine national team striker and the newly introduced spending regulations brought in by La Liga have only made things even more difficult for the Blaugrana, despite the money they raised through the deal they done with Juventus which saw Arthur and Miralem Pjanic swapped.

The report from the Milan based news outlet goes on to explain that Inter intend to postpone any talks regarding a contract renewal until 2025 which would have seen him double his current €2.4 million a year pay packet.

This season Lautaro, who is contracted to Inter until 2023, has made 37 appearances in which he has scored 17 goals and tallied five assists.

Chelsea’s Emerson Palmieri & Tottenham’s Jan Vertonghen Among 5 Players Inter Coach Antonio Conte Wants Signed

Inter manager Antonio Conte wants at least five players signed to bolster the team according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

Starting with the defence, Conte would like a left footed centre back brought in and Tottenham Hotspur’s Jan Vertonghen is on the list of players who Inter could potentially pursue.

Conte would also like a left wing back and wants reunited with Emerson Palmieri, who he worked with at Chelsea. The Italian is preferred to Marcos Alonso both due to costing €10/15 million less and having half as big a salary.

When it comes to the midfield, Conte wants Brescia’s Sandro Tonali and Barcelona’s Arturo Vidal but it cannot be excluded that Radja Nainggolan could be reinstated which would mean Vidal would not come in.

As for the attack, Conte is pushing for Edin Dzeko to be signed whilst a permanent move for on loan Manchester United striker Alexis Sanchez as well as Hertha Berlin’s Mattheus Cunha, are also being considered.

Inter will look to fund the above moves with player sales and the report goes on to conclude that nine players could leave, some of whom are currently on loan at the club.

The nine players who could leave are Tommaso Berni, Diego Godin, Roberto Gagliardini, Matias Vecino, Victor Moses, Kwadwo Asamoah, Borja Valero, Cristiano Biraghi and Sebastiano Esposito, with the latter leaving on loan.

Italian Media Report Lautaro, Godin, Vecino & Gagliardini Among 10 Players Who Could Leave Inter This Summer

As many as 10 first team players could depart Inter over the coming months according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Corriere della Sera.

The report explains that Tommaso Berni, Diego Godin, Cristiano Biraghi, Victor Moses, Matias Vecino, Roberto Gagliardini, Borja Valero, Sebastiano Esposito, Alexis Sanchez and Lautaro Martinez could all leave the club.

Should Lautaro not leave the club, Inter may not have the resources available to them to strengthen the midfield and attack as they would like.

Inter manager Antonio Conte would like a new left wing back, another midfielder in addition to Sandro Tonali and one striker, at least.

When it comes to left wing back, Chelsea’s Emerson Palmieri is his favourite. For the midfield he wants Barcelona’s Arturo Vidal or someone similar and for the attack he wants either Roma captain Edin Dzeko or Edinson Cavani, who is now a free agent following his release from Paris Saint-Germain.

Barcelona Will Try & Sign Inter’s Lautaro Martinez Even After Release Clause Expires

Barcelona continue to have no intention of paying Inter striker Lautaro Martinez’s €111 million release which expires today according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, which was late last night.

The Blaugrana club have been courting the 22-year-old player for a considerable amount of time but will not sign him by triggering his release clause.

The Spanish giants will continue to try to sign him over the coming weeks despite the fact there will no longer be a release clause which could lead to them having to pay more for the highly rated Argentine national team player.

Lautaro himself will be very important in the outcome of Barcelona’s pursuit of him. As of yet he is yet to express a desire to leave but should he push to leave that could help Barcelona out.

This season Lautaro has made 37 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored 17 goals and provided five assists for his teammates.

Italian Journalist Ravezzani On Inter Coach Conte: “A Great Coach But Insufficient This Season”

Italian broadcaster TeleLombardia director Fabio Ravezzani has shared his belief that whilst Inter manager Antonio Conte remains a great manager, he has not done enough this year.

Ravezzani’s comments, which he made via his official Twitter profile, come following Inter’s disappointing 2-1 loss to Bologna at San Siro yesterday evening.

Inter took the lead via Romelu Lukaku but failed to capitalise on the many chances they had to extend their lead and also missed a penalty too.

Bologna equalised with 15 minutes to spare through youngster Musa Juwara and then minutes later they took the lead through Musa Barrow. Inter were unable to respond to the Rossoblu’s quickfire double and have as good as ended their chances of Serie A title glory by throwing away yesterday’s match.

Inter are now in third place in the table and are some 11 points behind arch rivals and current league leaders Juventus, who are on the verge of snapping up yet another title.

Ravezzani posted: “Inter committed suicide by making a mistake (Lautaro) and retorted (Gaglia) at 1-0 with an extra man (following the strange sending off of Soriano). Eriksen was very bad, he is athletically insufficient. Conte remains a great coach, but this year he too has been under sufficient. Too many goals conceded.”

Troppi i gol presi.

German Media Claims Bayern Munich’s David Alaba Isn’t Interested In Inter Move

David Alaba is not interested in a potential transfer to Inter according to a report from German football journalist Christian Falk, who works for German news outlet BILD.

The Bayern Munich and Austrian national team defender has been heavily linked to the Nerazzurri in recent weeks and some reports have stated Inter have already met with his representatives for talks.

As per Falk, whilst Inter are interested in adding the 28-year-old to their ranks, the feeling is not mutual with the player not keen on a move to Milan, at least for the time being.

Alaba’s contract with Bayern Munich is set to expire at the end of next season and there have been talks over a contract renewal already but it is understood that Alaba’s demands exceed what Bayern Munich are willing to pay him.

When questioned on social media platform Twitter about whether Alaba will go to Inter, Falk responded with: “Not True. Inter is interested, but Alaba is not.”

Italian Journalist Mario Sconcerti On Inter Coach Antonio Conte: “Has He Not Considered He Could Be The Problem?”

Italian football journalist Mario Sconcerti has criticised Inter manager Antonio Conte and implied he has been just as much of a problem in Inter’s rocky form as the team has this year, despite his various attempts to deflect the blame from himself.

Sconcerti’s criticism comes the day after Inter threw away their most recent match against Bologna. Inter were leading 1-0 and were comfortably in control but were once again made to pay for missed chances with Bologna scoring a quickfire double near the end of the match to secure themselves three points.

“I don’t like Conte’s exaggerations. He says he studied things and says them as if he were reading the holy scriptures. He says, attack me, leave the team alone.

“Aside from that we would love to choose our enemies on our own, rest assured we will attack him,” Sconcerti explained in an interview with Italian news outlet CalcioMercato.com.

“We think he has many responsibilities in the fate of this team. Which has little quality, little play and many orders to be executed. It is difficult to play great football when you have to obey the will of others.

“He says again: if someone is not god enough for Inter it will be necessary to think about it but he was eliminated in the first round of the Champions League, in the second round of the Italian Cup, he lost twice against Juventus in the league where he has Atalanta attached to his ankles, and has not yet begun to think he could be a problem?

“Finally he says: I would like my players to suffer 1% of what I suffer and this is the universal image of Conte’s soul. I am suffering of all of you, I am the infinite diversity.

“By contrast, you can find players at Inter who would like Conte to understand at least 5% of what they understand. Could it get worse?”

Conte took charge of Inter this past Summer and replaced Luciano Spalletti at the helm of the Nerazzurri club. Former Italian national team manager Conte has since managed Inter in 41 competitive fixtures to date. He has won 24 of these games, drawn nine and lost the remaining eight matches.
