Photo – Inter Highlight Other Nerazzurri Goals Scored Directly From A Corner Kick

Inter remembered goals that have been scored from corner kicks after Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen scored directly from the set piece against Napoli in the second leg of the Coppa Italia semi-final on Saturday night.

The 28-year-old Dane, who joined the Nerazzurri in a deal worth €20 million from Tottenham in January, impressed in the 1-1 draw, despite the fact that the result saw the Milanese club eliminated from the competition.

The Milanese club posted a photo of the goal from that game alongside the caption: “Christian Eriksen’s goal directly from the corner in Napoli v Inter resembles two previous Nerazzurri goals like that. Do you remember them?”

Photo – Inter Wingback Cristiano Biraghi: “The Disappointment Remains Because We Deserved More”

Inter wing back Cristiano Biraghi commented on the Nerazzurri’s 1-1 draw against Napoli and elimination from the Coppa Italia on Saturday in a post on his Instagram page yesterday.

The 27-year-old Italian wing back is currently on loan at the Milanese club from Fiorentina, in a deal that saw Dalbert join the Florence based club on loan in exchange. Neither player has particularly excited at their respective new homes and it seems likely both will return in the summer.

Biraghi posted a photo from the game alongside the caption: “The disappointment remains because we deserved more! Onward with our heads held high!”

Italian Journalist Marani: “Inter’s First Half Against Napoli Was Their Best Half Of The Season”

Italian journalist Matteo Marani discussed Inter’s 1-1 Coppa Italia semi-final draw against Napoli last night in an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sports Italia.

“It’s true that Inter played better yesterday and perhaps deserved the result, but they were influenced by the first match in which Napoli had a good and convincing performance. I think Napoli, as an advantage, had the fact that it became a temperamental game thanks to Gattuso.”

He moved onto talking about how Napoli goalkeeper David Ospina kept the Partenopei in the game and how the Naples based club’s decision to play defensive paid off.

“Yesterday was a game that risked taking a different path, but it was good to suffer and hold. Ospina was the best on the pitch but the team managed to make the most of their opportunity, especially in the second half due to the drop by Inter.”

Finally, Marani talked about how Inter started incredibly well in the first half but failed to carry over that strong performance to the second half.

“Conte’s team started very strong in the first half, then it was clear that in the second half they had to drop somewhere, and they dropped from a physical and athletic point of view because they started very strong and fast. Yesterday’s first half was perhaps Inter’s best half so far this season.”

Inter coach Antonio Conte will be disappointed after last night’s elimination from the Coppa Italia, as the Lecce born coach was hoping to win the competition to bring some silverware to Milan in his first season in charge of the Nerazzurri. The former Juventus and Chelsea boss has never won the Coppa Italia as a coach and will have to wait until next season before trying again. The Nerazzurri’s next game will be against Sampdoria next weekend.

Ex-Referee Luca Marelli Analyzes Referee Gianluca Rocchi’s Performance In Napoli Vs Inter

Former Italian referee Luca Marelli has analysed the performance of Italian referee Gianluca Rocchi in last night’s 1-1 draw between Inter and Napoli in the second leg of the Coppa Italia semi-finals.

The report details how the game was largely managed well by Rocchi, with only a few points of true contention. The first is how Napoli claim that English full back Ashley Young should have been given a second yellow card for his foul on Matteo Politano. Whilst the former Manchester United man did foul the former Inter striker, it was not enough to justify a booking.

The second point of contention is the possible hand ball by Nerazzurri defender Stefan De Vrij in the 55th minute, the report continues. It was not a penalty, despite the fact that the player’s arm touched on the ball slightly, due to the fact that the 28-year-old’s arm was in a natural position and the way the ball travelled must be accounted for.

The only mistake made by Rocchi was in the 66th minute, the report continues. The Italian referee blocked the ball and stopped the game, returning to Napoli. The new rules suggest that he should have let it go considering that possession didn’t change and it didn’t trigger anything important in the game.

Italian Journalist Biasin Expresses Support For Inter Coach Conte: “Some Just Want To Criticize”

Italian journalist Fabrizio Biasin sided with Inter coach Antonio Conte and suggested that last night’s Coppa Italia draw against Napoli wasn’t something to be concerned about in a post on his Twitter page.

The report details how the Nerazzurri drew 1-1 with the Partenopei in last night’s Coppa Italia semi-final clash, eliminating the Milanese club considering that they lost the first leg to the Naples based club at the San Siro three months ago, before the Coronavirus stop. Coach Antonio Conte suggested after the game that he was satisfied with the team’s performance despite the result.

Biasin agreed with the Lecce born coach, the report continues, considering the circumstances. Inter have played zero friendly matches and have only been training as a squad for a few weeks now, after more than three months of nothing.

Considering that they played against a good Napoli team, last night’s result is no surprise, as it will take a little time for all teams to reach their full strength again.

“The trial against Conte for a draw after a 3 month break, a few training sessions, no friendlies and playing against a good team. More than wanting football back many simply wanted to start criticizing again.”

PSG Striker Edinson Cavani Yet To Decide Future Amid Interest From Inter, Newcastle & Atletico Madrid

Paris Saint-Germain forward Edinson Cavani still has not decided what to do about his future, with Atletico Madrid, Inter and Newcastle all interested in signing him, according to a report from Spanish media outlet DonBalon.com earlier today.

The report details how the 33-year-old Uruguayan striker will leave PSG in the summer after his contract expires, seven years after his arrival from Napoli. The player has not made any decisions yet regarding the offers that he has received, with the most insistent club being Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid.

Newcastle and Inter are also both keen on Cavani, the report continues, but the relationship between Atletico president Enrique Cerezo and the player’s entourage is good, which could help to facilitate a deal. Cavani himself has a preference for Atletico, but could still end up in either Milan or Newcastle in the summer. The Nerazzurri are looking to strengthen their attacking department in the upcoming summer transfer window as they expect to lose striker Lautaro Martinez to Barcelona.

Olympique Lyon Have Contacted Inter Defender Diego Godin’s Agents

Lyon have been in contact with Inter defender Diego Godin’s entourage to discuss a possible deal, according to a report from Italian media outlet Calciomercato.com earlier today.

The report details how the 34-year-old Uruguayan joined the Nerazzurri on a free transfer last summer, signing a three-year deal, but he could already be on the way out, only one season after arriving. The former Atletico Madrid man has disappointed in Milan, not properly adapting to the tactical system of coach Antonio Conte.

Lyon have been in contact with his agents to discuss a possible move, the report continues, as they consider him the ideal player to reinforce the department, which is missing a leader.

Inter would be happy to let the player leave for free in the summer, as his departure would save them around €20 million in total. The only issue is that Lyon cannot afford his €5 million net salary, and so the player must decide whether to accept a wage drop or stay in Milan and try to improve his standing.
