Italian Media Reports Roma Lead Inter In Race To Sign Chelsea’s Pedro

Roma are ahead of Inter and Juventus in the race to sign Chelsea winger Pedro, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

The report details how the 32-year-old Spaniard’s contract with Chelsea will expire at the end of the season, and so the former Barcelona forward will be available to sign as a free agent. Roma, Inter and Juventus are all keen to sign the player, but the Giallorossi are currently in the lead in the race for his signature.

Inter coach Antonio Conte knows Pedro well, the report continues, from his time in charge of Chelsea, where the duo won the Premier League together.

Pedro has made 18 appearances across all competitions so far this season for the Blues, for a total of 1215 minutes. In that time, he has scored two goals and provided three assists, struggling to earn consistent playing time.

Inter’s Lautaro Martinez Accepts Barcelona Move But Intends To Keep Promise To Antonio Conte

Inter striker Lautaro Martinez has said he agrees to join Barcelona but still plans to keep his promise to coach Antonio Conte, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The report details how the 22-year-old Argentine forward has accepted a move to the Catalan giants but isn’t planning to go easy in the final games of the season. On the contrary, Lautaro intends to keep his promise to Conte to giving his absolute best for Inter and still looking to guide the club to a strong finish.

Barcelona’s offer still hasn’t satisfied Inter, the report continues. The 22-year-old has a release clause of €111 million release clause, but the Catalan club cannot afford to pay this figure.

Instead, they have reached an agreement with the Nerazzurri to include Junior Firpo in the deal, but they must still pay €90 million. Should the Blaugrana fail to make a convincing offer by the 7th July, the day that Lautaro’s release clause expires, the Milanese club could still offer the player a new contract in August.

Italian Media Reports Inter Currently Ahead Of Juventus & Lazio In Race To Sign Marash Kumbulla

Inter are the club closest to signing Hellas Verona starlet Marash Kumbulla but their rivals cannot be discounted, according to a report from Italian media outlet FcInterNews earlier today.

The report details how Juventus relaunched their assault on the 20-year-old Albanian defender, offering the Gialloblu €20 million in cash as well as two players in exchange, creating a deal worth €32 million overall. Verona are still considering the deal but haven’t decided yet.

Lazio are also keen to sign Kumbulla, the report continues, with Igli Tare particularly keen on the 20-year-old. Inter are ahead in the race though, having already offered the player a five-year contract with a salary worth €1.5 million plus add-ons per season, which would rise over time.

Foreign clubs aren’t set to provide any real competition as the player wants to stay in Italy, but the Nerazzurri must still remain aware that their Italian competition won’t give up easily.

Inter Can Only Afford To Sign Both Federico Chiesa & Sandro Tonali If Lautaro Martinez Is Sold

Inter can only sign transfer targets Sandro Tonali and Federico Chiesa if they sell Argentine striker Lautaro Martinez to Barcelona, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Turin based newspaper Tuttosport.

The report details how the Nerazzurri are keen to sign both of the young Italian talents, looking to build a strong Italian core in the squad, joining other talents like Alessandro Bastoni, Nicolo Barella and Stefano Sensi.

Whilst the Milanese club are incredibly keen to sign both the stars, they need to sell Lautaro in order to fund both of these signings.

Lautaro’s release clause is €111 million, the report continues, and that money would prove vital to fund the deals for the two Italian talents. Chiesa is valued at around €60-70 million, with Tonali being valued at around €50 million.

Juventus are also interested in both of the players, but the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic has forced both the Bianconeri and Nerazzurri to be more careful with their finances this summer.

Inter Plan To Offer Lautaro Martinez A Contract Extension In August As Talks With Barcelona Stall

Inter will offer Argentine striker Lautaro Martinez a new contract in August should Barcelona fail to sign the player in July, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The report details how the Blaugrana are keen to sign the 22-year-old Argentine forward, who is contracted to the Nerazzurri until 2023. Lautaro has a €111 million release clause valid for the first week of July, giving the Catalan club limited time in their fight for his signature.

Should Barcelona fail to sign Lautaro, the report continues, Inter will offer Lautaro a new contract, so as to tie him to the club for the foreseeable future. It’s not clear yet whether the release clause would be increased or eliminated entirely, although it is obvious that the Nerazzurri have no interest in losing the 22-year-old.

Lautaro has scored 16 goals and provided four assists in 31 appearances so far this season.

Inter Decline Barcelona’s €41M Evaluation Of Junior Firpo As Part Payment For Lautaro Martinez

Inter disagree with Barcelona’s €41 million valuation of Spanish full back Junior Firpo, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

The report details how the two clubs are looking for a suitable deal for 22-year-old Argentine striker Lautaro Martinez, who the Catalan club are incredibly keen to sign in the summer. The Blaugrana cannot afford Lautaro’s €111 million release clause but are prepared to offer €70 million in cash plus Junior Firpo in exchange for the 22-year-old.

Inter don’t agree with a €41 million valuation of the 23-year-old, the report continues, especially considering that the Catalan club paid only €18 million last summer. Further talks are required if a deal is to be reached.

Junior Firpo has made 17 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 1196 minutes. In that time, he has scored one goal and provided one assist, struggling to earn consistent playing time.

Inter Reject Man City’s Joao Cancelo Being Part Payment By Barcelona For Lautaro Martinez

Inter have no interest in the possible inclusion of Joao Cancelo in the Lautaro Martinez deal, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

The report details how the Blaugrana were in talks with Manchester City regarding a possible swap deal between Nelson Semedo and Joao Cancelo, with the Catalan club’s plan then to be to include the Portuguese full back in the deal for Inter striker Lautaro Martinez.

City valued Cancelo at around €65 million a year ago when they sold Danilo to Juventus, meaning that they aren’t planning to let him go for less than €50 million.

If Cancelo was to be included in the Lautaro Martinez deal, the report continues, then the player’s value would have to be dropped significantly. Inter don’t have any interest in the inclusion of Cancelo in the deal, even though they like the idea of seeing the player return to Milan.

Inter & Juventus Target Sandro Tonali: “AC Milan Didn’t Really Consider Me”

Inter target Sandro Tonali discussed his playstyle, his passion for football and his admiration of former AC Milan midfielder Gennaro Gattuso in an interview in today’s print edition of the Italian magazine Sportweek.

First, he discussed the comments made by Andrea Pirlo, who said that Tonali was much more complete than he was.

“Let’s say that Pirlo gave the right answer! We don’t play like each other. But to say that I’m a more complete player than he was…

“When two of my friends sent me the Instagram live, in which he said that, I stayed still. And I’m still speechless now. All I can say to him is, thank you.”

The 20-year-old Italian touched on the similarities between himself and Pirlo on the pitch.

“I’d rather say what I’d like to learn from him. The long pass from deep, accurate to within a millimetre. I’m better at short passes today. Which, to tell you the truth, comes even more natural to me than the long pass.”

Tonali commented on his passion for football and whether it was passed onto him by his family.

“More like the city, Sant’Angelo Lodigiano lives off football. I used to go to the stadium and there were always a thousand people, even in the third division. Enrico, my brother did the rest. From there my climb to the top of the mountain started.”

The Brescia midfielder discussed how AC Milan snubbed the player when he was a young boy.

“Lombardia Uno was associated with Milan. Every two or three months five or six children were called to Vismara, where the club’s youngsters train. I can’t say that they rejected me, they didn’t really take me into consideration. Maybe I was too young.”

He spoke about his admiration of Gattuso, who he has a similar playstyle to.

“I was struck by his grit and generosity. Had he divided his inner determination by ten, there would have been enough left to fill all his teammates. He was afraid of no one.”

He revealed who his current idol was.

“Luka Modric.”

Tonali touched on whether he would rather play as a box to box midfielder or a deeplying playmaker, two roles which he has experience playing in.

“You know what? I don’t know. I like them both. It depends on how the opponent is lined up, against a 4-4-2 I have more space like a mezzala, if I have a trequartista in front of me I like to be in front of the defence because, a part from him, I have an open pitch in front of me.”

The Inter target then discussed what his childhood dream was.

“To become a footballer. I also asked for it in a letter addressed to Saint Lucia. I gave her a choice, either a footballer or a saint.”

Tonali spoke about his teammate Mario Balotelli and whether he thinks the former Manchester City striker is a ‘wasted talent.’

“No, I look at him and I stop at ‘what a talent’. In training he does things that very few people can do. Why ‘wasted’? He played for big teams, he scored a lot of goals, he won.”

Finally, Tonali spoke about his future and whether he would be a big player.

“There’s never anything certain, I’ve achieved half of what I have in my mind, but I feel strong enough to make it. I’m on the right track.”
