Luca Toni: “Conte Has Given Inter A New Mentality, They Can Bother Juventus”

Italian radio station Radio Sportiva have shared an excerpt of their interview with former Italian international striker Luca Toni to their Twitter profile.

As part of the long interview with Toni, which was conducted earlier on today and saw him speak on various topics from the Italian national team to Serie A, they asked him for his thoughts on the performances of Juventus, Inter and Napoli so far this season with all three sides expected to fight it out for the title.

“Juventus is strong but they still need to adapt to Sarri’s style of football, they do not always play great games but they still win. Conte has given Inter Milan a new mentality. Napoli are not consist but the Nerazzurri can bother the Bianconeri,” he said.

Alexis Sanchez’s Condition To Be Evaluated By Inter Doctors Tomorrow

Alexis Sanchez will undergo medical testing tomorrow to discover the extent of the injury he sustained during international duty according to a report from broadcaster Sky Sport Italia.

The attacker sustained an injury to his ankle during Chile’s goalless international friendly with fellow South American side Colombia and primary tests conducted by the Chilean national team’s doctors confirmed a “dislocation of the peroneal tendons of the left ankle with involvement of the flexor retinaculum.”

Some tests, such as the resonance test, were not conducted though therefore Inter’s medical staff will do that as part of their evaluation of the 30-year-old’s condition. Sanchez, as per the report from Sky Sport Italia, is at risk of facing in excess of a month on the sidelines

Sanchez joined Inter on a season long loan deal from Manchester United in the Summer transfer window and has made four appearances across all competitions, in which he has scored one goal and tallied one assist.

Bryan Robson: “Man Utd Are Paying For Letting Lukaku & Alexis Sanchez Go To Inter”

Manchester United legend Bryan Robson has hit out at club leaders of the red devils for letting several established stars leave Old Trafford over the Summer and attributes this to why the 13 time Premier League champions have made a difficult start to the 2019/20 season.

“We have had quite a lot of injuries at this stage of the season and they have left themselves a little bit short. That is why they are where they are.

“Romelu Lukaku, Alexis Sanchez, Ander Herrera and Chris Smalling are all very experienced players. In this situation, you need those type of experienced players, rather than kids, to steady it,” Robson, who captained United during his 13 year spell there, told British news outlet The Sun.

“Unfortunately, Anthony Martial has a long-term injury and you can’t carry that when you let two top class strikers [in Lukaku and Sanchez] go and do not replace them.”

Paolo Condo: “Inter Can Remain Close To Juventus For A Long Time”

In an interview with CalcioMercato.it, respected journalist Paolo Condo has shared his hopes for the remainder of the Serie A season.

“I hope that it can be a good season, that in the end will be won by the best side and not with a gap such as last year’s. In direct matches, Juventus have quite clearly shown themselves to still be at a higher level for many reasons,” he said.

“If Inter resume beating the others as they had been doing perfectly before, they will remain close to the Bianconeri and for a long time too.”

He then spoke on how Juventus went about creating such the gap they did as they finished 11 points ahead of second placed Napoli and then 21 points ahead of Atalanta and Inter who finished third and fourth.

“Where did Juventus manage to make the gap? Not only in direct matches, but also due to the fact that with the medium to small teams they regularly picked up full points. In this sense, the Nerazzurri are doing their duty very well to fight to the end.”

Condo also discussed Stefano Sensi, who has somewhat surprisingly starred for Inter.

“He was already good at Cesena and Sassuolo but it is clear that when you can replicate the same things or do even better at a big club like Inter then it means that you are of a higher quality.

“Doing the same things at a mid-table team to a team that has title ambitions is not easy and this is something that many fail to do but Sensi has already passed the test.”

Venerato: “Inter’s First Name For The Midfield Is Rakitic, Ibrahimovic Not In Inter’s Plans”

In an interview with Rai 2 television show Domenica Sportiva, journalist Ciro Venerato has discussed the names that Inter are currently considering to strengthen their midfield in the upcoming January transfer window.

As per reports in the media, Inter wish to bolster their midfield department for the second half of the season and have drawn links to several players, including two from Barcelona.

“The first name on the wish list is Ivan Rakitic, more talks are to take place between Marotta and Bartomeu. The second option is Arturo Vidal, Conte’s protégé, while the third idea is Nemanja Matic, but it is more plausible that he would be signed in June on a free transfer,” Venerato explained.

Asked if Inter would make an attempt to bring in former player Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who is set to leave LA Galaxy at the end of this year, he responded: “He is not in the Nerazzurri’s plans.”
