French Media Report Negotiations Between Inter & PSG Over Mauro Icardi Continue

Negotiations between Inter and Paris Saint-Germain over Argentinian striker Mauro Icardi continue to move forward according to a report from French news outlet L’Equipe earlier today.

The report details how the negotiations between the two clubs regarding the 27-year-old Inter owned striker continue following on from PSG’s offer of €50 million plus €10 million in add-ons which Inter rejected.

The French club aren’t willing to pay the previously agreed upon figure of €70 million and are looking for a discount, which could see the final fee be around €55-60 million, excluding add-ons according to the report.

Inter have also prepared a three-year contract for Edinson Cavani, the report continues. The Nerazzurri are hoping to sign the Uruguayan on a free transfer in the summer after his contract expires with PSG, but so far the 33-year-old hasn’t accepted or declined the Nerazzurri’s offer.

The player wants to examine other options as well, including Newcastle, who are set to be taken over by a Saudi-backed group, according to the report.

British Media Claims Chelsea Ready To Swoop In For Mauro Icardi If Talks Between Inter & PSG Break Down

Premier League side Chelsea are interested in signing Inter owned striker Mauro Icardi, should talks between the Nerazzurri and Paris Saint-Germain break down, according to a report from English tabloid The Sun earlier today.

The report details how talks between Inter and PSG are still ongoing regarding the 27-year-old Argentine striker, who impressed this season whilst on loan with the French giants. The Parisians offered Inter €50 million plus €10 million in difficult to achieve add-ons, not an offer the Nerazzurri were hoping for, and one which they promptly rejected.

In February reports in England suggested that the Blues were interested in Icardi, although they won’t be able to sign him should talks between PSG and the Nerazzurri prove productive.

Italian Media Highlights 3 Reasons Why Inter Won’t Sign Arturo Vidal From Barcelona This Summer

There are three things that make it difficult to imagine Arturo Vidal signing for Inter in the upcoming summer transfer window, according to a report from Italian media outlet PassioneInter.com.

The report details how Vidal has been linked with a move to the Nerazzurri for some time now, but there are three factors that make a possible move to Milan difficult.

The first is the will of Barcelona star Lionel Messi, who is good friends with the player. Messi wants Vidal to stay at Barcelona and think’s he is important to the squad.

The second factor is that Vidal is now happy at Barcelona, the report continues. Despite the misunderstandings and disagreements in the winter, the Chilean is happy in Catalonia and isn’t particularly looking for a move away.

The final reason is his family, the report highlights. Vidal’s family only moved to Spain a year ago with the player and have settled well, so may not be happy to move so quickly again.

Italian Media Details How Inter Coach Antonio Conte Will Deploy RB Leipzig’s Timo Werner & PSG’s Edinson Cavani Tactically

A report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport has analysed how two of Inter’s transfer targets could be deployed.

The report details how the Nerazzurri are looking to sign a new forward in the upcoming summer transfer window, with Alexis Sanchez returning to Manchester United and Sebastiano Esposito set to be sent out on loan.

Two targets are German forward Timo Werner and PSG striker Edinson Cavani, but both fill different roles. The former Napoli and Palermo striker is more of a poacher and finisher, the report continues, who is most comfortable in the penalty area.

The RB Leipzig forward, on the other hand, is more of a second striker who works hard in the build-up play and often starts attacking moves from the left side of the pitch.

In the context of Inter, the report adds, Romelu Lukaku would find more freedom in attack playing with Werner, whilst with Cavani he would find a more explosive and dangerous partner, who is less likely to drop off in the build-up play.

Days After Bayern Munich Decline To Buy 20M Rated Inter Winger Ivan Perisic CEO Rummenigge: “Effect Of COVID-19 Crisis Will Be Lower Transfer Fees”

Bayern Munich CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge discussed the upcoming summer transfer window in an interview reported via Italian media outlet FcInterNews.

“I read that many clubs are ready to cut their players’ salaries to reduce staff costs, so I expect there will be more players being sold than bought this summer.

“This usually leads to market regulation, lower transfer fees and lower salaries. The clubs must learn from the crisis and try to bring more sustainability back into football.”

Bayern Munich decided not to activate the €20 million buy option on Inter owned forward Ivan Perisic, the report details, and have asked the Nerazzurri for a discount, pointing to the Coronavirus pandemic as a reason for a lower figure.

The 31-year-old Croatian forward, who is contracted to the Milanese club until 2022, has made 23 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 1205 minutes.

In that time, he has scored five goals and provided eight assists, quickly being an important player in coach Hans-Dieter Flick’s squad.

Inter are hoping to sell the 2018 World Cup finalist in the summer as coach Antonio Conte has no interest in working the player into his squad. The Nerazzurri are hoping to reinvest the funds into the squad.

Inter & Lazio Target Marash Kumbulla: “Stefan de Vrij 1 Of The 3 Best Defenders In The World”

Inter target Marash Kumbulla discussed the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, his first steps in football and the strongest defenders currently playing in an interview in today’s print edition of the Italian magazine Sportweek.

“The epidemic has taught us not to take everything for granted, to live in harmony with what is wonderful around us, to enjoy the little things that are the most genuine and authentic, to have more respect for life, nature and ourselves, to be selfless, to love us.”

The 20-year-old Albanian defender, who is contracted to the Gialloblu until 2022, then moved onto discussing his first steps in football and how it started with his father.

“It came into my life with my dad, a great fan. When I was 4 years old, he enrolled me at a football school in Peschiera. Later, when I saw that I was comfortable with the ball at my feet, I was even happier to go to practice. And even now it’s like that, training is everything to me. It’s the thing I missed the most during the pandemic.”

Kumbulla touched on how he signed for Hellas Verona when he was only 8 years old.

“I think that for every child the dream is to play for their home team. I had a trial and they signed me.”

The Albanian teenager spoke about how he plays in Serie A without fear or nerves.

“Yeah, I enjoy duels, even aerial ones. I really like the physical fight. And then, for some in my role, there’s nothing more satisfying than being the last line of defence, like those who clear the ball off the line.”

The Hellas Verona defender discussed his strengths and weaknesses and what he needs to do to improve.

“I have to improve with my left foot. My strength is my concentration in the game, the care I place on each pass, and my determination.”

Finally, Kumbulla commented on the who he thinks are the three best central defenders currently playing, including Inter defender Stefan De Vrij on that list.

“Van Dijk, Sergio Ramos, de Vrij. I like to study how de Vrij plays. He always understands first where the ball can go.”

Kumbulla has made 19 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 1581 minutes. In that time, he has scored one goal and helped the side keep seven clean sheets.

Italian Media Highlights Which Barcelona Players Inter Open To Accepting As Part Payment For Lautaro Martinez

A report from Italian news outlet Gazzetta dello Sport has analysed five possible Barcelona players that could be sent to Inter in exchange for Argentinian international striker Lautaro Martinez.

The report details how the Blaugrana cannot afford to pay the €111 million release clause attached to the 22-year-old Argentine striker, who is contracted to the Nerazzurri until 2023.

Many names have been suggested, but the Nerazzurri now have the choice of two out of the five of Nelson Semedo, Junior Firpo, Arturo Vidal, Ivan Rakitic and Samuel Umtiti.

Inter will only accept Umtiti on loan alongside another player and around €70 million in cash, the report continues, but the Nerazzurri are looking to strengthen their wing back department, and so may prefer to look for Semedo and Firpo.

For the midfield, Arthur would have been the ideal choice, but he doesn’t want to leave Barcelona, and so the Nerazzurri are considering Vidal, a player who coach Antonio Conte is a big fan of. Rakitic was previously linked to Inter, but now the Nerazzurri have seemingly moved on.
