APPIANO GENTILE – There were a few familiar faces at the Centro Sportivo Angelo Moratti this afternoon to observe the Nerazzurri’s first session of the week, with Saturday’s clash with Empoli not far away.

CEO Michael Bolingbroke, general manager Marco Fassone and sporting director Piero Ausilio were joined by Carlos Puyol, Ivan de la Peña and Demetrio Albertini, who caught up with coach Roberto Mancini before and after training.

The session itself had a strong tactical and technical focus, with particular attention given to passing. Palacio took full part in training after his visit to the Netherlands. There’s another busy day in store at Appiano Gentile tomorrow, with a double session scheduled as well as new signing Xherdan Shaqiri’s official unveiling (press conference at 13:00 CET).
