Klinsmann: “Best wishes to the Inter family”

MILAN – There was a familiar face in Corso Vittorio Emanuele today as Jurgen Klinsmann was welcomed to the Nerazzurri headquarters by Inter Forever.

"I’d like to send my best wishes to all Inter fans. I hope things go well for you in the future," declared Klinsmann, dedicating a message to the Nerazzurri faithful. There was also a word on the state of football in the USA, which he said was "experiencing huge growth".

Klinsmann then visited the trophy room, pausing for a while in front of the UEFA Cup he helped win in the 1990/91 season and even posing for a photo with the famous trophy. The German was also presented with a commemorative plaque marking the 25th anniversary of that triumph.

The former Nerazzurri forward explained that he was spending his holidays in Italy and would be stopping in Milan for a few days. Inter, it seems, is still very much in the German’s heart.

Because, as Klinsmann knows, nothing beats being there.
