MILAN – It was a special day for Dodo and Jonathan Biabiany today as they took part in the last of three events organised by the Indonesia Pavilion at Expo 2015 to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Indonesian Independence.
Amongst the dance, cooking demonstrations and general festival atmosphere, the two Nerazzurri players were able to use the oculus installed at the Pavilion to enjoy a three-dimensional taste of the Indonesian landscape.
"It’s an honour to be here at Expo 2015 to get to know our president’s country. It’s lovely to get to know the culture, the president loves it and it’s great to see so many people interested in discovering Indonesia," Brazilian full-back Dodo told the journalists present.
Dodo then spoke about the Nerazzurri’s preparations for the upcoming season: "The new players need a bit of time to gel before we can predict how the season will go. There’s no official word on Kovacic yet and we don’t know anything.
"I can’t wait to get back to playing, I’m working hard for it but it’ll take some more time. I’m doing well though and don’t have long to go in my recovery. In the meantime I’ll be cheering on my team-mates and I’m sure we can achieve big things. It’s pleasing to have the faith of the manager, I’m relaxed.
"There is still some time before the start of the season. The preparation phase is always tough as the new players don’t know each other and need to integrate, but we’re working hard. Is 4-3-3 ideal for me? Yes, but I’ve learnt to play in other positions over the last few years," declared Dodo.
Frenchman Biabiany then had his say: "I’m doing well. We’re at the end of the injury now and I want to return as soon as possible to help the team. It’s great to see so many fans here and take photos with them. We have a good team and have worked very hard – we’re ready.
"It’s lovely to know that we have lots of fans in Indonesia too and I’d love to visit the country. Today is an important day for them and it’s been an honour to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Indonesian independence alongside them. And we’re pleased they chose to celebrate it with us!" concluded Biabiany.
