MILAN – "I’m happy for the fans and my team-mates," were the first words from Gary Medel after the match between Inter and Roma that was decided by his goal.

He continued: "I’m delighted with my goal and our win. We knew this was a massive game and a chance for us to overtake them at the top."

The Chilean was asked about Mancini’s team selection and in particular Mauro Icardi starting on the bench. "The main thing is the team. We have lots of good players," he replied.
