Icardi: “Vital to win after the break”
EMPOLI – Nerazzurri matchwinner Mauro Icardi has shared his thoughts after the away victory against Empoli this evening.

“It was important to get back to winning ways after the Christmas break and keep our place at the top of the table,” began the Argentine forward, scorer of the only goal in today’s game against the Tuscan outfit. “I’ve always said that it’s my job to hit the back of the net. Last year I had more or less the same number by this stage of the season.

“There are still five months to go. Maybe we can start talking about the Scudetto from April onwards. We showed a lot of pride and guts out there and got the win – that’s the important thing.”
